I have a Horace Potten born in Patching in 1843 who married Matilda E. I haven't been able to find parents yet though.

Anyone else researching the name Potten in East Sussex? I am descended from Thomason Potten b. ca 1839, daughter of John Potten and Mary Harmer. She married John William Barden.

Hi - your Pottens probably connect to mine. Where is Whetstone? My great-great grandmother Thomason Potten Barden lived very near Battle in late 1800's and early 1900's. Diana.

Don't suppose you have a Linda POTTON hanging around the family tree. She married Gordon HAMMOND in 1948 in Ipswich, Suffolk, Uk.
Having trouble finding any POTTON names in Suffolk.

I'am looking for info on the marriage of Gordon H HAMMOND, and Joan D. L. POTTON in the 1948, March quarter, in Ipswich, Sufffolk, England.
I've got a GRO ref Vol 4b, folio 1909, and have sent away for the certificate.

My grandparents are Arthur W. Potten, born Whetstone, England, Jan.9, 1890, and Mary (Tester) Potten, born sussex, England, Feb. 14, 1887.

My mother, Helen Mary Potten attended school at Battle, near Hastings, 1920-1921.
