Thankyou for alerting me to this story. I am Brian Taylor, George Taylor's nephew, now living in Comox, BC. Did you see the Calgary Herald article and then find me on Ancestry.ca? Do you have any contact info for George Cairns in Scotland? I will get in touch with the author of the Herald story to see if she has more info, as well as provide her answers to the questions she posed therein.
If you send me your e-mail address, I'll keep you in the loop.  Thanks again;

Brian Taylor
hughestaylor@shaw.ca
I am looking for relatives of Lieutenant William Prier who served in the Royal Flying Corps in WW1. His next of kin on his military records was listed as his mother Jas (or maybe Jos) Prier in Brantford, Ontario, Canada. He was a member of 43 Flying Sqn, a POW in Germany and came back to Canada after the war in approximately July 1919.

Pryor / Waggaman Guilford Co. North Carolina

I know were Alson Prior Waggaman got his name but can’t figure out the connection. Maybe if I send this out to everyone that someone else can shed some light on this family. I have been working on the Waggaman’s for years and this is what I have found.
I bought a book from Guilford Co. North Carolina APPRENTICE BONDS & PAPERS 1817 – 1870 on page 55 and page 56 it has Alson Prier (male orphan, age 13 on 4-5-1820). Master and date of Bond (John Waggoner 2-21-1820) witness Jno. Hanner)
On page 56 Denard Pryor (male orphan no age) Master and Date of Bond Andrew Waggaman 11-20-1820) Witness Jno. Hanner.

If you look at the old census records for Guilford Co. North Carolina you will find John Waggaman and Andrew Waggaman along with some Waggoners. John Waggaman is the right age to be Andrew Waggaman b. 1779 father. I also went to Salt Lake City and found some land records that mention Adam, Andrew and John Waggaman. So I’m wondering are the Pryor’s some how related to the Waggaman’s and is that why John and Andrew took in both Pryor boys? Also naming a family member after Alson.

Please contact me with anything you might know or any questions
Martha Bash
I am looking for information on George Washington Prier and Mary Jane Freese-Ehrhart of Barry, Bates and Montgomery counties in Missouri. Trying to find possible divorce records of George and his 2nd wife, Mary Brooks Burge. Also trying to locate a marriage record for George and Mary Jane Freese-Ehrhart sometime between 1866 and 1870, since Mary Jane was not divorced from her 1st husband, James Ehrhart until November 1866 in Henry County, Iowa. There is alot of stories, just trying to find the answers. Any information is greatly appreciated.

I am back. the photo I have of George's third family lists, William Roland, John Wesley, Simon, Joseph Thomas, Adam Franklin, Mary Jane Freese Prier, Framces Elizabeth Prier Crane but no George. (son) This was taken in 1899 it says. Mary Jane Freese died Aug. 13, l921 and is believed to be buried in Bullinton Cemetery, no stone, no record, but I believe that as I said Rhea Prier in 1979 took my father Allen and me to the cemetery and showed us the graves. Also There was a Prier living in Kansas City, Mo. that my family members tried to talk to in 1940's-50's but did not return any calls. I think he ran a foundry there.

I am looking for information on what happened to George Prier/Prior/Pryor born 1865 in New London, Henry County, Iowa to parents George Washington Prier and Mrs. Mary Jane Freese Ehrhart. I have found him in the 1870 census of Prairie City, Bates County, Missouri listed as living with his father and mother and a sister, Frances(Prairie City, Bates County, Missouri, page 150) But in 1880, George’s parents and siblings are living in McDonald, Barry County, Missouri(McDonald, Barry County, Missouri, page 276A) and George is not listed. He would have been about fifteen at the time. Any help locating this George Prier/Prior/Pryor is greatly appreciated.

Dear Ms. Krems:

My g-g grandfather was William Prier/Prior who was born
ca. 1840/41 to William Prier & Sarah Lockman. It appears
he was the first-born child as the 1840 CN indicates there
were no small children in the hh.

He BD data on the 1900 CN. was Sept. 1840 (I think that is
correct as I don't have my papers w/ me as I type this).

He died 1916, leaving no family history w/ his four children
except he was born New York.

He appeared as the oldest child in the hh on the 1850, 1855
(state census) and 1860 CN. He was gone by the 1865 CN.

Would you like to exchange info. regarding the above?

Prier surname

I too am trying to trace my family history. I have a Henry Prier (Prior) who married
a woman with the last name 'Morgan'. They had a daughter named Mary Ann Prior who
married William Brooks (my gg-grandparents). They lived in Pennsylvania, but
the story of Henry is that he left PA to go to California to trace some property claims
that the family had and he was killed by indians. Any of this familiar?

Not sure. Mounce's son, Alfred, began spelling it PRIER to separate themselves from the rest of the family (he got religion). Alfred's son Ozie's family is still around Iron Co. Sorry I can't be of more help! Lora

Prier/Pryor: TN-MO 1800s Mounce, James, Byrd

My gr-grfather was Mounce Pryor who had brothers James and Byrd. Mounce and James are buried in Boss, MO. Came from Jackson Co., TN. Mounce was married to Polly Loftis. Some of their children spelled last name PRIER. After Mounce died, Polly married John Short and is supposedly buried in Desloge, MO. Any info would be great! Thanks!
