My father's name is Valentin Gonzales Prieto.I know little of him. He was born in El Paso, Tx - 1927.
I was told that he has a brother - Alfonso Prieto.
Is your father related to Valentin Prieto?

My name is Cynthia Prieto i'm 16 and i'm doing a school project on our family but my Father Juan Leon Prieto passed away January,1,2004 so i don't know much and i'm not every close to his family but all i do know is that his Fathers name was Juan Rodriguez Prieto but sadly he passed away on April,30,2011 but i do know that he was born in Guanajuato Mexico in 1939 he married Zenaida Leon Casas his parents names were Thomas and Concepcion so any information you could find out about them would be very helpful

Your grandmother was the mother of Jesus {Joseph Prieto] who married my first cousin 1x removed Florence [morris] Shiner . I don't think they had any children and ended their days in Florida [ Miami beach ] 1521 Lenox Ave . Florence's parents and brother also moved to Florida .

I too have light skin and blue eyes. My mother is white so that probably plays a part in it lol but my father has green eyes and light skin and his father was light as well. My family came from Arizona, Texas, and Mexico. Maybe we are cousins? Anyway let me know your history and lets see if we are related. I live in San Diego by the way.

Hello everyone,

I am starting to build a family tree and was wondering if anyone had any information to help me out or may be possibly related! My name is Jason Prieto from Arizona, son of Jose Arturo Prieto from Texas. My fathers father is named Juan Vasquez Prieto of Texas, and his mother is named Angelica Vasquez (she was adopted which akes it very difficult). My grandfather Juan's parents are Jose Vasquez I think and I don't know who his mother was. My father Jose has 2 brothers, Oscar and Jhonny, and 5 sisters, Nora, Dora, Gracie, Maria and? HI Jorge! my name is Joseph Albert Prieto i live in Pomona CA and always have been curious about the origins of our family name. Im glad that you have posted information about us..i always had a feeling i was of noble decent =). Ive always been approached by many different european types of people cuz of my light skin and eyes. This same thing of my grandpa was always happening to himself too throughout his life since he had light skin and eyes also, such traits we're passed on to the grandchildren me and my cousins having light eyes and skin. Ironic though my granfather was not light when he met my grandmother in los angeles. his face and skin was dark from being a railroad worker in the earlier days of industry. He loved to work! and LOOOVED to drink too. i guess this is why im contacting you in honor of my granfather I would like to commemorate our family name. I would appreciate from deep within my heart if you would send me any information you have on our family,this including any pictures of our coat of arms, Casas Solariegas, and nobility titles, as well as storys of any important battles that our ancestors had been in to change the course of history!

Prieto is a name used by Sephardics in Spain. The name is listed on the official records of the Holy Office of the Inquisition. I am related to a family of Sephardic Prieto's from South America who were in manufacturing from the early 19th century on.

Hi, My father is Victor Prieto.
He was born 23 Jul 1932
He passed 05 May 2000
Last location I knew of was Bronx NY
I have not seen my father since I was 6 yrs old.
By chance and luck I found the information above via
searching the net.
I know he has brothers, but I can't remember all there
names. I know there is Miguel, Manny.
Last word I heard about him is that he was living in NJ
worked as a mechanice at some airport.
He at that time was living with a woman that was pregnant That was around 1975. Which means I have a half brother.
I would appreciate any help anyone has on locating family

We are his first born children by marriage to

and my mother was 20 yrs old.
I am interested in finding any uncles that might still be alive , any half brothers that are still alive
I know that I have a half brother that is approximately

Wow, You are so right. My grandfather is Rafael Pumarejo
father to my mother Alida Pumarejo.
My grandfather lived in St James Long Island.
My grandmothers name is Carmen,
Carmen is my mothers mother who was indeed married to Rafael Pumarejo.
Rafael had 2 other daughers out of wed lock.
Their names were Millie and Rose.
Gee, I should of checked this site sooner for any replies.

I also have relatives in El Paso Texas and in Mexico. I branch is from Sonora and Chihuahua. The Prieto line started with the Visigoths that were in Spain centuries ago. Search by putting into the search function on your computer your husbands name. I got the historical record of the Prieto name by entering "Apellido Prieto" on the internet. "Apellido" means "Sir Name in English.

What came up was (amoung many links) was the record of the history of the name in Spanish from the library in Madrid. "FASCINATING" history. Let me know what you think.. Later. Guillermo (William) Prieto
