I am looking for a Mary Margaret Prim born in 1776 - probably somewhere in the USA, and moved to Clare, Nova Scotia, Canada somewhere around 1795-1799. She married a William Luke Smith.

Don't have his first wife's name but I know his first 3 son's with her, James Moses COWAN, William F.COWAN Jr.& Joseph COWAN.

They also had land in Bell county TX

Michael Alexander Grantham married Jane Rogers circa 1879 and had 6 known children by her. She died 10-28-1898 and he married Mollie Prim 12-29-1898 in Dale County. Mollie was the mother of Ruby Grantham, born circa 1903. He had 7 known children by Mollie Prim.

Hi, I don't know where you got your information from, but it's wrong. Jesse H. G. Prim was my gggrandfather. He was born in Taylor Co., West Virginia and married Mary Reynolds in 1849 in WV. They divorced and he later married Lydia Dunham and they had 5 children. They moved to Indiana in the 1870's where they lived in Delaware Co. until their deaths. They are buried in Muncie, Indiana. I don't know what directory you checked, but in 1890 Jesse was a widower and lived in Muncie. In 1897 he is listed as living with his son. Where did you find your information. You need to recheck it.

I am looking for any information about Winfield R Primm b 11-29-1783 Farquiar, Va d 6-26-1835 Wilcox, Al. I have found him in the 1810 Census Farquiar, Va and by 1835 in Alabama Land records in Wilcox County, Alabama. I know he is buried in the Coy Cemetery in Wilcox. I am looking for information about parents and children.

James N. Prim was b. 15 Jun 1871 in either Emmons, Davidson Co., or Gold Hill, Rowan Co., NC to Joseph C. Prim and Sarah Ann Lanier. Joseph is the son of James and Benetta Allen Primm of Wythe Co., VA. Joseph and his brother John, dropped an "m" when they moved to Davidson Co., NC. The surname Wilson is correct for James Prim's wife. I've done research on this entire line and will help you out if you tell me specifically what you are looking for. I would like any info you have also. Please email me.

George H. Prim was brother to Benjamin F. Prim (my great-grandfather)and son of William W. and Sarah Ann Prim. I have more information on them.

I was recently allowed to view and copy tin types and photo's from the family bible of Joseph S. and Ruth S. Clark Myers (my daughter's family). Included with the family pictures are pictures of whom I believe to be either Clark or Myers women, their spouses and or children. The pictures are Russell and Becky Dockum, Jim and Cindy Evans, Joe Prim, and W. A. (Bill) and Jim (James) Luce. Joseph and Ruth Myers lived in Menard Co. Ill in the 1850 and 1860 census, but had moved to Barton Co., Mo. by 1870. The photo of Joe Prim (about 2 or three years old) was taken in Springfield, Ill. and appears to be taken between 1860 and 1880 as does all the other tintypes and photos. It was taken at Issac H. Voorhis studio (no doubt a relative of mine from my Voorhis line) I would like to share this photo with the appropriate family and learn of the connection with the Clark/Myers family. In the Enid News & Eagle newspaper, Enid, Garfield County; Oklahoma on April 6, 2006 was this death notice:

The funeral for Althon H. PRIM, 92, will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Earl M. Temple Memorial Chapel, Oklahoma City. Burial will be in Morrison Cemetery, Hennessey. Arrangements are by Temple and Sons Funeral Directors Inc., Oklahoma City.
He was born April 16, 1913, in Bison to George Hugh and Sarah (HINTON) PRIM and died Friday, March 31, 2006.

I am beginning my PRIM(m) and COWAN(en) research with data from another's notes: Mary Ann was born November 17, 1820 in Tennessee to parents unknown. On December 2, 1839 she married William Flemon COWAN (son of Joseph) who was born June 5, 1808 in Georgia and died May 17, 1890. Mary Ann supposedly died February 25, 1897 in Kempner, Lampasas Co., Texas.

Their children:

Martha Jane, abt. 1840;
Mary Ann or Mary Elizabeth, 1842/3 (married Wm. Welcome WILLHELM);
John A., abt 1843;
Louisa P., 1844;
Emily C., 1846, (married J.F. ADCOCK);
Sarah Arkansas (born 1846 guess where, married George ALLISON);
Elias, abt. 1853;
Josephine P., abt. 1857;
Maranda, abt. 1859, and
Alfred, abt. 1862.

NOTE: This data taken from research of (1) Beatrice Willhelm Reiswig Steeves; (2) Ronnie L. Chew's gedcom @ WorldConnect; and (3) R. T. Parks' WorldConnect gedcom.

I know this family lived in Franklin County (and possibly Madison County) Arkansas. Around the time Yankee bushwhackers were ravaging N.W. Arkansas, they removed to Texas and lived in Williamson, Bell and Mason counties.

As I begin digging up census, land, BMD and burial records on these folks, perhaps another descendant will see this and contact me (with "PRIM" or something recognizable in the Subject line). I descend from Mary & William's dau. Mary.
