She was my great-great-grandmother. My great-grandmother was Anna Murl Lee (married to Richard Burke). I believe she was born in Ontario but I too have had a difficult time gathering information on her. There's even a question on the spelling of her last name, Pryor or Prior? I see this post was made long ago. Do you have any new information?

Hi, I'm trying to link one of James and Betty's children Ann 1780 to my family. Do you know if this was the Ann Prior that married John Pullen 22-04-1806 at Christian Malford? only there was another Ann Prior born 1781 just down the road at Dauntsey.

I have a Humphrey PRYER/PRIOR bpt c 1702/3 at Hemel Mempstead. He married Elizabeth ? I know of one son George bpt 1744 at Hemel Hempstead. He Married Sarah BRANDON and they had 10 children. Thomas 1774, Mary 1776, Sarah 1778, Sophis 1780, George 1782, William 1784, Jane 1785, Charles 1787, Rebecca 1789, samuel 1792, all at Hemel Hempstead

My gt gt grandfather was Charles 1787, he married Harriet BIRMINGHAM and they had 2 daughters, Harriet 1813,Maria 1815, Isleworth, Harriet was my gt grandmother.
Has anyone connections through thie family line?

Think this is my husband's grandfather's sister. Catherine Julia Lazenby, in the uk census for 1901(as Kate Lazenby, born about 1882 in St Pancras, father Samuel Lazenby and Lucy nee Bailey) , then seems to have emigrated to Canada. I have a fairly full family tree going back in time, but cannot seem to find anything about her life after her marriage ( except her marriage to William prior in York, ontario on 19 December 1905 . Any information would be gratefully received.

I am Nicole Jeannine Stanley Copithorne my birth name is Miss Florence Grace Prior related to Keith Prior on facebook and cousin Debrs Prior Rose Annettes daughter. And I'm related to my 1/2 cousin to Terry Carrington who is my 1/2 cousin via marriage of my late Grandmother called Winifred Harvie Prior. Married to Albert Charles Prior and Reginald Carrington. And my Great Great Great Grandad is William Prior. I am related to Elizabeth Prior Alicia Prior and Alice Linton who wrote a book on The Prior Family Tree which I have a copy of all born and bred in Shoreditch nearby Hackney in London.Before ending up in Dover Kent and Hemel Hempstead.

I think we have connected before. Peter Prior b. 1806 Matching Tye was my great great grandfather.I am related through his son Benjamin b. 1944 Magdalen Laver and his son Benjamin b. 1877 Darlington Durham. I am trying to find evidence of Peter's father. Hi Carol/Brian. So glad to hear from you. I have an idea Peter's father was James PRIOR born 1775 but nothing concrete. My grandfather Benjamin PRIOR born 1877 Darlington,Durham married Cissie Annie HARTLEY born 1880 in Worcestershire in 1902 in Martley. They had 3 sons all born in Birlingham, Pershore. Their youngest son, Robert Ivor PRIOR, born January 6, 1909 was my father. I have information and photos to share.Please contact me at frankbauer@sympatico.ca.

Hi Alex - my grandmother's maiden name was Matilda Prior and she was born in Kensington in circ 1870 -her father's name was George Prior and mother was Harriet and I believe she was born in North Wales. George had several children beside Grandma and her twin Charles Prior died a few months after birth. My mother (her daughter) told me they lived in Threadgold Street in London but I dont know if that is true. I would glad of any info as I have next to nothing else about the Priors except they ran or owned a laundry - regards Marg

I just came across your reply today. I'm not a member of Ancestry.com, so that's probably why I never received a notices from them that you had replied to my message.

The picture was among about 40 or so pictures that were in the possession of my father-in-law, James R. Harlan, at the time of his death in 1998. I'm trying to find out who he is and how he is connected to the Harlan family. For a while, I thought that C. W. Prior was his name. Do you have any connection to the Harlan family from that area of Tennessee?

It certainly is the same Prior family as Benjamin and Daniel were brothers. I am not related to the Prior family myself; my only connection is through the marriage of my Gt. Grandmother (Elizabeth Skingley) to Daniel. But my grandfather was 'adopted' into the Prior family as he was the illegitimate son of Elizabeth.

Thankyou for letting me look at your Tree. Unfortunately my tree isn't really all that good at all but my Cousins have the best ones for The Prior Family Tree. They are called Debs Fulbrook from Hemel Hempstead and Keith Prior from Crawley.

I also have a 1/2 cousin called Terry Carrington via my Grandmothers second marriage To Reginald Dennis Carrington. Her name was Winifred Prior nee Harvie.She was also married to Albert Charles Prior my Grandad first time round.

My cousin Keith Prior is on facebook and on ancestry.com with me and my late Father David John Tilbury's grave.A statue of a little boy was left there. I didn't know my Prior family till now I never met my Mum or Dad.They pasted away before I could find them in time.As I'm adopted.

My Mother was Miriam Grace Tilbury Nee Prior. And I have an email address for Debs but will haft to ask her permission before I give it out So sorry.I also have an email address for Terry Carington.But likewise I would haft to ask his permission before I could give you it out? My Great Great Grandad was William John Prior Harvie.He was born about 1866 in Clerkwell London England. He married my Great Great Grandmother Lydia Rosina Stirling in 1889 in Holborn London. His Father was also called William Prior Harvie born about 1841 in Clerkwell London England.He Married Charlotte Prior Harvie not too sure when though? She was born about 1846 in Essex Engalnd.She died in 1913 in Islington London England.
My Great Great Grandad was called Edward J Stirling born about 1845 in Cripplegate Middlesex England. He married Elizabeth Stirling in 1866 in Clerkwell London England.He died in 1910 in Holborn London.She died in 1845 in Cripplegate Middlesex London England.

Yes I am still very interested in the Prior Family Tree.Even though my paernts are not alive anymore. And I have never met them as I'm adopted. I have though met my cousin Keith Prior from Crawley and my cousins niece Kirsty and her mother and her brother.

Peter Prior in Plainville/Bristol CT

Looking to uncover some information about my oldest know ancestor Peter Prior b. 1853 in Ireland. Arrival 1872 and first found with brother John Prior (b. 1844 married to Bridget) in 1880 census in Plainville CT.
Peter is father of Francis, Thomas, Peter N., Augustine (Gus), Clement, Ethel, and Corneilus All borm between 1889-1901. I am a decendent of Gus.
I'm having trouble connecting Peter to Ireland and have had no luck with finding a father. It looks like the brothers John and Peter are possibly from Leitrim, Ireland. If anyone can help it would be appreciated.

I have no idea where they left from but it seems they may have immigrated around 1876. Their son James Bruce Prior was born in Leetonia, Ohio in 1888. He is my Great Grandfather on my father's side.

They had several children including my great great grandfather James Bruce Prior. I would love to visit the area they were originally from. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

No not the same one. My George Prior definitely died in Tasmania. I have a death record and his will. No mention of Queensland either. It's a much mor common surname than I would have believed before I started!

I have a Henry George Prior born around 1850 in Boston, MA. He came by sea, married my ggmother in Qld then supposedly went back to sea and died near India. My research leads me to believe his name was George Henry Prior and was also married with children in Boston. Could this be the same elusive Henry George Prior that I cannot find much information about?

I know it's a really old message, but are you a descendent of the Isaac Prior who went to Tasmania (not by choice!) in 1842? I have the same birth date and parents in my research. I believe Isaac had a son, George, who is my gggf.

Hi, I know this is a very old post and perhaps your mystery is soved...or you've had enough. I have a George Prior in Tasmania who is my gggf. He was born in about 1850 and died in 1905. His wife was Christiana Giddins and he had lots of children. Do you know who your George was married to? I am in the process of trying to track his parents and have a couple of leads. Let me know if you're still interested.

I am Margaret. About all that Lonnie has is what I have given him. I have been doing research on our Prior/ Pryor family since 1975. I have no knowledge of who were parents or siblings of my grts. grandparents Wesley Pryor/ Prior and wife Sarah Heady, whose name may have been Frances Sarah Heady. Heady also has numerous spellings. I think they married abt. 1840, as their first child was born 02 Feb 1842 in Trigg Co., Mo. Most census records shows both Wesley and Sarah as being born in Tennessee, he about 1820/22 and she abt. 1825 to 1828. Wish I could help you. Also wish someone could help me!

I believe one of my ancestors was the Thomas Luke who married Mary PRYOR at Royston, Hertfordshire (on the border of Cambridgeshire) in 1700. Despite the surname spelling (though 'Pryor' and 'Prior' appear to have been largely interchangeable around this time) and my belief that our Mary probably came from Hertfordshire, I felt - a long shot - that 'our' Mary MIGHT have had a connection with your Cambridgeshire Priors. ???
