Hi Becky,
My mother is the other daughter of Edwin Prosser. Her name is Gladys, but everyone calls her Boots. She had a falling out with Aunt June and your father after their mother passed. At the moment she is 83 and not in the best of health. I have been having conversations with Aunt June recently. She has been giving me some of the same information that you have posted about our grandfather.

I currently live north of Meadville. I know that you have lived in Cranberry Twp. I know that either you or your sister went to Rowan Elementary and had Ruth Kirk as a fourth grade teacher. She and my husband are brother and sister. I am sorry that I have lost track of this part of my family. I am trying to reconnect with my mother's side of the family. My sister, Joyce, would also like to be reconnecting with our family. I hope that you check back in in the near future. Aunt June knows how to get in touch with me (phone number). I hope to hear from you in the near future. Judi Rodella Cujas

I have found the obituary of one of Adeline's children, Elizabeth "Betty" Prosser Ard and it stated that her late father was Jim Prosser, so I am assuming his name was James Prosser. He had to have died prior to 1900, because at that time Adeline was married a second time to General Watson Ard and had another child with him. Any knowledge of this "Jim" Prosser would be great!

As far as I can tell the Prosser line that I am decended from stuck close to the Florence/Hannah/Pamplico area. My Great Grandmother was Annie Prosser Cooper and her father was this mystery man who died young and left a wife and 3 small children. I figure he must be buried in one of the Prosser family cemetaries around that area.

Thanks! Lori

I found a John Prosser in the 1880 Census living in Johnstwon, Cambria, Penns age at that time was 24 born in Wales - where his father & mother were born. I think he might be the brother of Josiah Prosser who is married to Serah Prosser. They had a daughter named Mary Jane "Maggie" Prosser who I think is my Mother's Mother.
I am new at searching so don't have all my facts right yet but this is what I have so far. Maybe this will help you.

I was looking for information on a William Prosser and Elizabeth. Born about 1848 in Wales (William). I know he actually married TWICE. I know his FIRST marriage he had 3 children (probably 2 girls and 1 boy) and his wife/children died from the plague. A few things I can't figure out. I don't know if this Elizabeth was his first or second wife. Another is I am getting mumbled results on what her maiden name was. Alot of family trees have her listed as Elizabeth Davis with varying amounts of children. If anyone has any info on the two marriages, maiden names, or children that would be wonderful! Please share!

Help with Evan Prosser Please.

My Grandmother Ada Adeline Prosser was born in Glamorgan 1890 and in 1910 married Edward Albert Williams in the parish of Llantarnam, Newport Monmouthshire. So far I have been able to find out quite a bit of information on her early life but finding her father is proving difficult.

On her marriage certificate it shows her deceased father’s occupation was a Publican. His name is poorly written on the certificate, but it looks like Evan Prosser. I have failed to identify Evan on any of the records I have looked at, including library and record office visits. I believe he died in unfortunate circumstances around the time Ada was born. Any help finding further information on Evan would be much appreciated. Thank you in advance Allen.
Robert G Prosser, Jefferson County, New York, 1916 - ??

I am searching for any information for Robert G. Prosser. He was born about 1916 in Glenn Park New York. His Fathers name was (William) Elmer Prosser Born about 1878 in Ontario Canada and his mother was known as Elizabeth Prosser and could have had a 1st name of Charlotte or Catherine but used Elizabeth. She was born some time between 1880 and 1883 in Surrey, England. The Family came to the US around 1906.

Robert was married for a short time to Edna Mae Russel and had a daughter in April of 1942.

Robert and his brother Howard were arrested in Jan of 1946 for several armed robberies that they committed in several NY counties. They were supposed to have pled guilty in an Oswego county Court in February of 1946 and were sentenced to lengthy prison sentences in Attica State Correctional Facility in Attica NY. After the Feb article in the Syracuse Post About the sentencing, there is no further record of Robert. I do believe that I found the SS death record for several of his brothers including Howard, who died in 1981, if it is indeed the same Howard Prosser.

My mother is the daughter from his first marriage and has never met him or seen pictures of him and is very interested in finding anything that she can about her birth family.

If anyone can add to my mystery your information would be very appreciated.
John Prosser (s/o John Prosser & Elizabeth Lounsbury)

I am trying to verify if the John Prosser, born abt 1 Jul 1834 in Prosser Brook, Albert Co., NB who married Margaret Lounsbury (b. abt 7 May 1830 in Lewis Mountain, Mestmorland Co. NB) had a 2nd wife?

Found a marriage record of John Prosser, age 55, son of John & Elizabeth Prosser, widower, BOP, Elgin, Albert Co., Residence, Elgin. Bride is Elizabeth Robbins, age 58, residence Moncton, POB: Bedeque, PEI, widow, name of parents David & Mary Crossman.
Witnesses: Mrs. Ann Milkinson and Clem Wilkinson (their names are hard to decipher, so may be incorrect) of Moncton.
Date 26 Nov 1890; Married in Westmorland Co.

In 1891 census, John’s wife’s name is “Sarah” (assuming this is the same John) and she (and her parents) were born in PEI and she is 53 years old; and in 1901, he is listed as “married,” but no wife is enumerated with him and he is living with his son, Benjamin L and his family.

Wondering if anyone is researching this same Prosser line and can confirm that John Prosser [whose children included: Benjamin Lounsbury (1858); Elizabeth Ann (1859); Albert Steeves (1861); James Stedman (1863); John Colby (1865); Bethia Amelia or Adelia (1867); Solomon Horatio (1869) and Marie (Maria?) Anne (1871)] remarried after Margaret Lounsbury died in 1885.

TIA,
Vicki
Decatur, Georgia

Prosser married to Adeline Stone

This unknown Prosser was born I think in Hannah, SC around 1850-1855 and married Adeline Stone around 1888 in South Carolina but then died before they were ever in a census as a family. They had 3 children together, Annie (my grandmother said Philiannie, but she was called Annie b. 1893, Elizabeth "Teenie" Prosser b. 1989 and James "Pete" Prosser b. 1894. Adeline remarried General Watson Ard in 1896, so I am assuming that her Prosser husband died young, but I can find no record of this or who he could be. My grandmother never knew his name. I am hoping someone in the Hannah, SC area will see this and can help.
