I'm looking for information on a Thomas Pryce (my g-g-grandfather). According to his death registration, born in Paut Leaudinan, Wales (this could be Llandinam, Powys?). Born 1 July 1857. Son of Edward Pryce and Elizabeth Davies.
Immigrated to Canada in 1919 with his wife, Mary Jarman, and their daughter Mary. Also, brother-in-law Edward Jarman and his wife Catherine Own.
I'm interested in the connections in Wales.
Thanks, Kathy

Hi, thankyou for your reply. I thought, on first reading your reply, that there was no connection and there may not be. However, it is really strange that my husband's father, John Harrison Pryce was a motor engineer and his father, John Henry Pryce was a building contractor. My husband's father, John Harrison Pryce married Constance Mary Gilbert on 16/04/1933 at Loughborough, Leicestershire. At that time, the marriage cert states he was 23 years old. I have been unable to find any birth or death details on him. I would therefore be grateful for any extra information you could give me regarding the Malvern, Worcestershire Pryce.
My email address is anniep49@hotmail.com.

Thankyou.

Hi - sounds likely. I have a wedding certificate from 25 May 1929 St Luke's in Harrogate. John Harrison Pryce and Nora Cryer, aged 19 and 18 respectively. He was a motor tester living at Chapel Terrace Pool Leeds. His father was John Pryce deceased, who had been a builder.
Couldn't find a birth or death certificate for him either! John H split up from Nora, leaving her with a daughter Joan (my Dad's cousin) - looks like a bit of a shotgun job! Nora's dad (my gt gdad) was a lorry driver - for whom we were trying to find him. I gather she tried the Salvation Army years back as well with no success. The only other person with that name was a guy in Malvern, Worcs (have some certs for him if you are interested. Just drop me an email address.

Hello, I am researching my husbands family tree. His father was called John Harrison Pryce. Born 1910. My husbands grandfather was called John Henry Pryce but was deceased by 1933. I am unable to find a birth cert for John Harrison or a death cert for John Henry. I have no info regarding John Henry's wife. Does this info match anything you have?

Hi, I have a Robert Septimus Pryce, described as NSW Commissioner, wife Mary Ann Marriott.

He appears as the father of Charles Keys Pryce, aged 21, on Charles' marriage certificate dated 13 March 1890 at District Register Office, St. Leonards, Sydney, Australia.

Charles married Cecelia Annie Hooker (my grandmother). They had a daughter, Edith Cecelia M. Pryce b.1891. Unfortunately Charles died on 10 October 1891 of cancer of the tonsil. He was aged only 22. Cecelia remarried. Her daughter Edith Cecelia M. Pryce married Vivian A.Z. Garton in Sydney in 1922.

Diana

Though these 2 children are shown on the 1891 cenus as having the name wade, so they may have been adopted.

Any informtion would be a great help

A little info for you:
John W Pryce married Gertrude Ford and their daughter Ruth Pryce (born March 19, 1900 Mass and died Jan 14, 1974 Ny) married my great grandfather Harry Morgan (born Aug 19, 1898 and died Oct 5, 1974). They say that Harry literally died of a broken heart because he died within months. Harry's parents were Fred Morgan (born 1857 in Wevertown, NY and 1901 in Johnsburg, NY---still looking up the exact date, I know it was during the winter) and Cora A Morehouse (born Nov 1861 and died May 21, 1950 in NY). She had been remarried to an Elliot Vaugnn and then George Dickinson (her obit states Mrs. Cora Morgan Dickinson). Harry and Ruth had a son Albert Morgan (born Dec 21, 1922 NY and died June 2, 2004 in West Palm Beach, FL). He was married to a Lillian Renolds (1st wife and then Bernice P "Gabby" Ball on June 21, 1952). (There are a lot of children involved between Albert, Lillian and Gabby and I'm still trying to figure out who really belongs to who. Albert's sister Jeanne Parks, his son James Morgan, and son William "Teddy" Morgan also died before him). my email is cheltuzzo@hotmail.com if there is any way that I can further assist you!

Hi My name is Leon Pryce...My father came from portland. I never knew my father, however l was always told he went by the name of "Danny" but on my Birth Certificate it states Lester Pryce..he was a cultivator. He often went away to work in Clarendon which is where he met my mother and was living in Banks. He was born in St Catherine. He was married and had other children living in Portland. He was 33 years when l was born, so that means, he would of been 85 now if he was still alive. But l was told by my mother, he passed. My mothers name was Catherine Williams but she has since pass too. I lived in England for over 30 years but l was born in Jamaica. I think my fahter was born in the year 1925 if my calculations is correct.

We must be talking about the same family! I'm sorry but I do not have any information on a C. Price. I do however have lots of information on where this family came from in Wales and how they are related to me (back to 1702). I have plenty of historic Price (Pryce) family items such as Wills, an old bible, furniture etc. Can you tell me anymore about Roland Price ? I have his father's Will (he was Roland as well and was a Medical Doctor). How are you related?

Meirion

"Thomas Price (Pryce) marriage to Sarah Ann Powell (?) ca. 1780 Wales"

"Thomas Price (Pryce) marriage to Sarah Ann Powell (?) ca. 1780 Wales"

We are looking for any information/documented evidence related to
the marriage of a Thomas Price or Pryce (1754-1836) of Wales and a Sarah Ann
Powell (?-last name is the issue) around 1780 in, we believe, Dolau,
Radnorshire, Wales. We
are certain that her name was Sarah Ann but have been unable to document the
Powell. That's what we need help with.

One of our deceased relatives, Harvey Eber Price of Calif., had stated that
Sarah Ann' maiden surname was Powell. Unfortunately, he never documented or
otherwise noted his source of this info. We believe that he may have gotten
this info from some Powell family letters located in Pennsylvania. We could use
some help from any Pennsylvania Powell's who have done genealogical research.

A very brief condensed version of this Price branch is as follows: Thomas moved
from Dolau, Radnorshire, Wales to near Hay, Breconshire, Wales in 1796. He was
most likely a weaver. Thomas, his wife Sarah, children Mary, Elizabeth, John
and Edward emigrated to America in 1821. They arrived in Baltimore and made
their way to Steubenville, Ohio. There after a short time Sarah Ann died about
1822. The
cemetery there has been moved since that time and she has been reinterred in an
unmarked grave. Thomas Price and his children moved on to the Newark and
Granville, Ohio area in 1823 and settled there in the Welsh Hills. He and his
family made a life for themselves there on the Price Family Farm. Thomas died
in 1836 in Newark, Ohio. There are
many, many Price descendants in that area.

If you can offer anything towards helping us solve this mystery of Sarah Ann'
maiden surname it would be most appreciated.

Thank you,

Charlie Price charlieprice1@comcast.net
Larry Price botany@tscnet.com
