Rabinovitz/Rabinovich

I am researching two Jewish brothers who came from Gomel (or Homel), Russia, to the US in 1906 and 1908. The Declaration of Intention for the older, Schneier Rubinovitz, (who changed his name to Samuel Rubin) states that he
sailed from Liverpool on May 17, 1906, on the Tunisian, landed at Quebec, from Quebec went on to Montreal, arrived at the port of Constable, Pennsylvania on February 4, 1908 and took a train to Williamsport, PA. On his Petition for Naturalization, he states he immigrated from Liverpool.
His younger brother David Rabinovich's Declaration of Intention is very faint and most of it is unreadable, but he lists his last foreign residence as Montreal. He was only 24 at the time and his wife was 18. He came by rail on the New York Central RR to New York City on August 1, 1906, and then on to Williamsport. I have read that there were pogroms in Gomel in 1903 and 1905, which we are supposing were the reason they left Russia. Any additional information would be appreciated.
Nancy
