Can anyone tell me who the Michael Rainbolt is that is on the 1810 Knox County Kentucky census?

Why suggest something like that? We are just researchers trying to put a real puzzle together that you seem to totally disregard every time its mentioned here. Do you believe something like an out child is beyond a Rainbolt male? If you do, that's about as silly as your comment to go to Adam Rainbolts grave.

Are you afraid that you may find out that you may be someone else? There seems to be a question about who Joesph Rainbolts father is, maybe its not Mattheus or Philip, maybe its a Roark? and oh yes, beyond what your "paperwork" says, there is something that happened in Northeast Tn/Northwest NC that you had or have no clue about.

Please take a look at the Rainbolt DNA project and consider being tested. We have something interesting here, a pretty unique DNA, as we only seem to match who we are closely related to. There is 3 families trying to figure out their links here with one another and the more participation the better it is for everyone. You may even find out something interesting and new!

Ind. died 31 dec 1920 At Lindsborg Ks.

1st marriage to William Taylor , 1 mar. 1855
2nd marriage to Hosea W Harrison , dec. 1876

NOTE ; {all } Rainbolt's born in America before Ellis
Inland are decendants of Josedph Rainbolt Sr.

I am simply saying that adam would be the best source
to start with !! hen work forward from there.
I don't care where it leads. Joseph's father could be any
one. So what !
I can tell you that it's not Mattheus.
As for Phillip, I can tell you that they are related
in some way. I could prove it to you, but why should I
care. Dig it out yourself.
iT TOOK ME 20 YEARS TO FIGURE IT OUT. i have been on
the rainbolt line for almost 40 years.

PS: I have blocked my emails from you and have taken
you off my mailing list. I care more about the Rainbolt's
than any other person I know.
On second thought , his father could be a Roark ,becuase
Josaeph was a lier and and was a very nasty person.

What you really need to do is get permission to get a sample
from adam r Rainbolt's grave in Ind.
That will take you all the way bach to Joseph Rainbolt Sr.

Thank you for posting, Jeff. This is a good time to consider being tested as there is a sale on until tomorrow, Saturday the 21st of April. I think it ends at midnight Houston time. If anyone is interested please check out FTDNA or email me.

We have only one RAINBOLT participant in the project, and no way of knowing if this is the same line as all RAINBOLTs or not. Many surname projects have shown that surnames often do NOT have one origin. I for one would really like to know if my RAINBOLTs' Y DNA is the same as the branch that has been tested. Paper trails can have errors. Paper trails with the DNA testing to back them up are rock solid.

So if you are, or know, a male 'Mr. Rainbolt', please consider doing a Y DNA test! Email me with questions :)

I am not sure still what you are asking. however I can tell that there is no known connection between the Rainbolts
and , Roark, or Slone. That I know of.

The info I have already givin you is correct . His death
date is in dispute, and some of his locations are also.

thanks Chief. Things are getting interesting! All this could be the big break through that all of the John Roark researchers have been looking for, along with the Emanuel Grimes family.

Chief, one more thing. Did the Rainbolt family have any connection that you would know of to the Johann Jacob "Wagonmaker" Braun/Brown family?

I'm just trying to find some connection to the Rainbolts. My DNA is their DNA. In 1810, Michael Rainbolt is living right here, where I live now for the most part. Thomas Slone is living here too, his daughter Nancy being the mother of my 3rd great grandfather, James Roark. I also noticed there is a Michael Grindstaff here too. Was he related to Joseph Sr.s wife?

Yes I know who he is. however all Known Records on him
have"many" conflicts. So I will have to get back to you.

He "should" be { old } Micheal Rainbolt,Son of
Joseph Rainbolt Sr. ?

Maybe some one can give you a faster answer. I need to
Reread my on site county Records from the 1970's again.

He also shows up in the 1810 Ky. Census. also.

I am not sure what question you are asking, if any.

I have 2600 Rainbolt's in my data base, but no grimes or
Roarks as wives.

Rainbolt in not an indain name, It comes from Swiss.

there are Rainbolt's with Indain blood in Them, thru
marraige or adoptons.

Sorry to tell you but I did just that !! With my families stuff were names ,obits ,and death certificates. And I found many of my cousins,uncles,aunts, by calling and knocking on doors.There are some of us who believe in wanting to know, go the long hall to get the right info and family . we all still talk and help each other out with the family tree and go see each other and go to family reunions . Call me crazy but ,it`s up to each of us how we long to find or talk to our family. I find that how I did it made our line more special because we now have more info ,pictures ,and most important we have are family tree that will live on now. My family members who I went looking for were happy and meet us with open arms . It`s nice to meet and know people from our present and past . So I say don`t knock it till you try it . blondedee

I believe Im raising an interesting point when I say that I had to laugh at the above posts who believe that just because they say they are related to someone...it is so.

Hold on there. Not so fast. Even using a geneological company to look up your "family history" doesnt mean that everything they give you or what you find is the absolute
truth.

For example...you cant go up to a stranger's front door and knock and then tell the first person you see that you are their long, lost grandson.

Please.....lets be careful and lets be mature and smart
when talking about family history.

married Ruby Faye Thetford on 23 mar 1923 in Ill.
Odell father was William Tecumseh Rainbolt. Born aug 3 1866.
odell's mnother was Mary Recbecca Barnwell. born apr 9 1868.

So, Chief, are you thus saying that John Joseph Rainbolt is the father of the Nancy Rainbolt who married Jesse Gray?

I have seen documentation that this Nancy Rainbolt Gray's father was a John Rainbolt, but not sure WHICH John Rainbolt... nor definitively who was her mother...

all right Chief, let me make sure i have this right (I'm not an idiot I swear...lol) Elisha (which sounds like a girls name), John Joseph, and Adam are the sons of joseph Rainbolt who was born around 1725 (my info says he was born in NC)?

I show that you decended from Elisha Joseph Rainbolt,
not adam.

I have 2700 Rainbolt's in my data base, and about 800
more to list yet.

yes I have that on the sheet my cousin gave me. I know that on my grandfather's birth certif. (which my dad has) she is listed as white, but I've always been told that she was a cherokee indian and she came from a reservation in OK. Do you descend from Adam? Thanks for getting back to so quickly. I have a Facebook page and decided one day to see how many Rainbolt's are on it. I was shocked to see a bunch......a few jennifer Rainbolt's as well, which was weird....hahaha

NO, Joseph was Adam's father. he was also the father of
your elisha Joseph Rainbolt. Yes Your william did marry
Rebecca Dixon. on aug 6 1896 at conway co. Ark. as for her being an Indain

I am a decendant of Joseph born 1731 and john joseph b.1770 and john michael b. 1807. Is this the same line of Rainbolts ? Im assuming it is. We have a possibility of a male who would submit for the dna. He would be my brothers son.Also there is my uncle who is still alive and a possible for the dna testing. Not sure it would be close enough in relation to your Adam Rainbolt tho.
