Looking for information on JOSEPH RAISON born c.1853 married to JANE HYNES/HINES b: c1852. They are shown in census records as living in Coney Arm, Newfoundland.

My Haggarty ancestor, Druscilla b: c1860 has a 30A Ocean Arrival card showing visiting brother in law, J. Raison of Coney Arm. They are one and the same. Making Jane her sister.

I know NOTHING on Jane and Druscilla besides who they married. I have Druscillas children etc, but no background on her parents, siblings etc.

I was told from the French Shore area of Newfoundland

My grandmother, Leona Marble Lindgren was married to a Raison for a few years in the mid 1920's. I know the marriage resulted in at least one child (Winifred). Other then that I have no other information. The Raison spelling could even be wrong. Any info would help.

I am interested in Henry Raison I don't know where he was born, possibly London area. He Married a Clara Tyler who may have come from Kennsington or Sittingbourne in Kent. They were in Huddersfield in 1892 where my grandmother Florence was born.
Henry was an early electrician involved in installing street and municipal lighting.
He died in 1914 in Rotherham,S.Yorkshire

I too, am a descendant of Louis and Aramanthea Young Raison via their daughter Sophia and her daughter Mary Sophia Bellomy, who married my gg grandfather David Scott McClelland, who was a coal miner in Boyd County, Ky. David Scott and Mary Sophia (also known as Nancy) had 7 children together.
I am glad to have this information on Louis and Aramanthea, we had not known for sure from the McClellands if there was French blood or not. The nobility part sure threw me.
I know Mary Sophia and her husband sold 100 acres of land that was left to her via her grandfather Louis' s will. This would have been circa 1875.

John and Elizabeth Raison were in Tydd St. Giles Parish, Camb., England when son John age 19 died in 1821. John Senior died 1831 in Tydd St. Giles.

Does anyone know if this is the same John and Elizabeth who were the parents of Priscilla Raison who married Charles Beagle and Charles and Priscilla were listed in the 1851 census St. Peters Parish, Wisbech, Cambridgeshire.

Charles Beagle and his wife Priscilla Raisin were my second great-grandparents. Their daughter Elizabeth was born Sept. 4, 1834 in Tydd St. Giles Parish, Cambridgeshire. In the 1841 and 1851 censuses the family was living in St. Peters Parish, Wisbech, Cambridgeshire. Looking for parents of both Charles and Priscilla. Priscilla's parents might have been John and Elizabeth Raisin of Tydd St. Giles. Any help very much appreciated. Welthy

Your sp. of Raison is right Karen, so is Rayson, Reason, Rai/ysen & many other variants. I have 1 guy sp. both Raison & Rayson.

Hi Cheryl, I have an Ernest Raison / Rayson spelt both ways, born 1877 around the Martock area which isn't far from Montacute. I don't think our Ernests are one & the same, maybe cousins though, I'll try & contact you privately in the next day or 2.

Louis RAISON b.3 Jun 1780 Bordeaux France d.1836 married 14 Feb 1811 in Greenup Co Ky to Aramanthea K Young b 1786 Greenup Co Ky d. Unk Childrens names were as follows Emily M.M., America L., Sophia M.T., Elizabeth B.Y., Charles L., Molly Ann C., Julia, Evaline, Mary L., Louis N., John E., Marie A. Now in the Greenup Co Tax list 1804-1820 the last name appears as REASON, and also on the 1860 to 1862 Boyd Co Tax List the name is spelled 3 different ways REASON,RAISEN & RAISON all having the same first name, Now my main question to this posting is this: Louis RAISONS parents were Louis Moveate RAISON b 1759 France d. 1798 France and Lady Marie Therese LANGIER b. Abt 1763 died in New Orleans date unknown. Now Lady Marie Therese had to come to the US between the years 1798 (husbands death date) and 1811 (her sons Marriage date), she would have been with 4 children also I would think the Port would have been New Orleans since she died in that city. So far I have run into a wall trying to locate her and the ship she came on. The reason you can't find Lady Marie Therese Langier Raison is that she had remarried. You probably know this by now. I come down through Louis Raison and Aramanthea K. Young, Emily M.M., married Randolph NOE.
