Hello, I am a World War II collector and I purchaed a pair of Dog Tags the other day that say Francis R Paule and Zora F Paule at a local antique store. When I find something of this nature I like to honor the Vet by doing reasearch to see if I can put a picture or a uniform ect..with it. That is when I came accross this thread and thought I would drop you a line and see if you could tell me anything more about him? I live in Lincoln Nebraska and so far I have not been able to find anything on the man as far as what he may have done in the service, what type of medals he may have earned etc. I would be very greatful for anything I might be able to find out. Also I have no idea how his dog tags ended up here but if they would be sentimental to anyone in your family I would be willing to give them up as I think that would be honering him more the hanging in my WWII collection.
Thank you
Devin

RANDAL/RANDALL/RANDLE - African American MS/TN/AR

Hello,

I am seeking info on my part of the Randal/Randall/Randle family.

Do you, or any of the Randall/Randle researchers, know or have run across a Ransom(e) or Lee Randall/Randle who married a woman named Ellen and they had several children - daughter Cora, sons Thomas (Tom) 1871, twins Matthew & Madison (Mack) 1875, Lee Louis 1878 and James/Jimmy. I assume all of the children were born in TN (or maybe some were born in MS).

I do not know where Ransom(e)/Lee or Ellen were in 1870. I assume between MS and TN.

I did find Ellen and her sons Mack & Lee in Panola Co, MS on the 1880 census listed under the name of Wilson (2nd marriage to a John W Wilson). On the 1900 Census John Wilson was deceased and Ellen and two of her sons from the previous marrage were in Alma, Crawford Co,AR. (Lee and Madison/Mack are still using name of Wilson).

In 1910 Lee was Lee Randall married to Stella with 3 children - daughters Velma and Ellen and son Russell. Later on Lee was Lee Randle (Still in Crawford Co, AR).

Maybe you, or any of you researchers, can help me.

Please contact me here or at
jasa@geocities.com or
jas1a@yahoo.com

J Cook

Jack was sold in slavery from Virginia to MS around 1830, born 1805. If this is true his father had to have been brought to the US before 1830.

Janet, My name is Jill (Morse) Jones and I live in MI. I now possess this book, since it was mailed to me shortly after the original message was posted. I too am descended from George and Harriett Randle, though after further research I determined that this is not from my family. My family came from England to OH, before settling in MI. I could not connect them to KS. If you send me your mailing address to my personal email (JonesJA5@aol.com) I will ship it out to you once I put my finger on it. I know I still have it. Kind regards, Jill

Thomas Randle from Rutherford Co. North Carolina to Moultrie Co. Illinois

I have been able to trace my family ancestors back to Thomas Randol who was born about 1808 in North Carolina. There is a marriage record for Thomas Randal and Rachael Webb October 21 1824 in Rutherford County. But I am unsure if this is my Thomas because I have found no other records with her name and Thomas.

On January 3, 1826 he had a son named Robert T. Randol born in Rutherford, NC. Then on May 3, 1830 he had a daughter named Drusilla Randol, also born in Rutherford. I have an obituary for both.

Around late 1830 or early 1831 he moved the family to Moultrie Co. Illinois. Which is where I have been able to find the rest of my family history.

In the 1850 Census the record shows Thos. Randle with children Amos, Temperance and Sarah. Thomas married Dorthea Furgason September 22, 1850 in Moultrie County. Thomas later married Elizabeth Morgan September 22, 1853 in Moultrie Co.

The 1860 Census lists Thomas Randall with daughter (widow) Drusilla Higgonbottom and her two children Melinda and John F. Next is Mary E. Randall who I believe is his daughter with Dorthea. Finally we have Hiram Haggarde (married Thomas' daughter), Temperance Haggarde and their two children Charles A. and Joseph.

Here is the linage I have: Thomas Randol b. about 1808, Robert Randol b. 1826, John Wesley Randol b. 1868, Harold Wesley Randol b. about 1901 and finally my grandfather Chester Wayne Randol b. 1923.

I am looking for siblings or parents of Thomas Randal or any other information on this family that could get me further back on my family tree.

Of all the records I have found for Thomas his last name is spelled several different ways. Randol Randoll Randal Randall or Randle. There is even a Bandol in the Whitley Point Record book.

Sorry for being so long winded. Wanted to get as much information out there as possible. I appreciate the help!

JW Randol

Thank you Pam....I suspected that John and Susanna were the likely parents and I had the 1829 wedding date... for me, unfortunately, the genealogy is a very part-time pursuit with two kids 13 and 15 and full time work. I would love to
go to Warwickshire to see that part of the world, definitely on the bucket list!

My great grandfather was William, who I believe was the youngest...
Thanks again, I will update if I find out more.

Hugh Randle

Hi,
Your query made me curious because I have researched many of the Texas Randles. I have found some info for you through Texas death certificates and Find A Grave.

Samuel Bright Randle was the son of Raymond Paul Randle and Minnie Lee Walker. His parents are buried in Oak Hill Cemetery in Smithville, Bastrop Co, TX which is where Samuel was born. Some of his siblings are buried there also.

Raymond Paul Randle was the son of James Newton "J. N." Randle and Sarah "Sadie" Amanda Bell. I have information on 5 siblings of his in my files.

James Newton Randle was the son of Peyton Randle and Emily Jane Greer of Carroll County, Mississippi.

If you go to this url: http://wc.rootsweb.ancestry.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?op=GET&d...
you can see the rest of my file on the Randle family.

Eleanor Colson
