I think it funny that there are s many Wm Raubs. My head is spinning to see to see so many. My uncle Robert is visiting from Colorado and he was telling us about when he was in the army and being stationed over seas. He mentioned that he went into a restaurant where our family ate all the time. have him a plate that they carved out of wood with the Raub name carved in it. They have pictures back to the 1400s.
Mary Jane Daughter of Charles Raub

Mary Jane Raub married Harry Haskins in Elmira, NY. AS of the 1920 census she is still listed with him. According to a newspaper article Harry remarried in 1922 and died in 1923. I can find no obit, newspaper article, cemetery listing or anything about Mary Jane Raub Haskins after 1919 which was a death notice of her father Charles Raub. Charles was born 1851 and died 1919.. Married to Adeline Redner. They are buried in the Athen's PA Tioga Point Cemetery. I would like to know when Mary died and where she is buried. The office at Tioga Point has no record of her, though Harry Haskins and his second wife are buried there.. If anyone has any information I would appreciate it.
Hi Debra,

I just noticed your post, which is nearly 4 years old. Hopefully, you will still get this reply as I think I can help.

I believe that the Grace Raub who married Albert Kish is the daughter of Steward (sometimes writtend as Stewart) and Victoria Raub, who lived in Coopersburg, PA. Grace had a sister named Stella, and a brother named Freeman.

Steward, born in 1880, was the son of Joseph J. and Lovina Raub. Joseph J.'s father was also named Joseph Raub, and was my g-g-g-grandfather. You can read more info about Joseph Raub and family here:

C:\Documents and Settings\mtroy\My Documents\Genealogy Research\Family Tree\Joseph_Raub6.htm

Click on the links for the parents and you can go back about five more generations back to the Raub immigrants who first came to PA in the early 1700's.

If I can provide any more help, please let me know. You ca also e-ail me at mtroy1@yahoo.com.

- Mike Troy

Beverly Raub-Sargent did not have a twin. She was one of 9 children born to Lawrence E Raub and Elizabeth Wingard. Her Raub line is Lawrence, Walter William, William Phillip, William. William Raub the first was married to Charlotte Gilbert and William Phillip Raub was married to Laura Hayes. They immigrated from Germany to PA in 1867, and then moved to Youngstown, Ohio. My grandfather, Lawrence E Raub, moved the family to the Brighton, Michigan area in the 1940's. I don't have any info past William Raub.

The information I had on the parents of Laura Hayes came from my Aunt Beverly / Jean Ann. Don't know where they got Walter and Rosanna from. My Aunt Bev passed away in 2001. I saw a few posts she had made in 2000 asking for info on Rosanna Coon. Guess I will e-mail my Aunt Jean Ann on that one.

Do you have William and Charlotte as the parents of William Phillip Raub? You've got me wondering how sure she was of that info now too.

I'm not sure about Laura's parents. I ran into a lack of good information with them. As of now, I have her father as J.K. Hayes (b. 1830 in PA) and Catharine (maiden name ?) (b. 1840 in PA). Overall, I've had good luck overall finding records of the raub family on this site.

Note: My grandfather, Carl Raub, Jr., passed away on April 18, 2007 in Columbus, Ohio. He was 92.

I apologize for the mis-information. Walter William Raub married Myrtle Pearl Adams b. 1890 d. 1929. My grandfather was their son Lawrence E Raub. Walter William's 2nd Marriage was to Myrtle L. Boone. My aunt always said that we were related to Daniel Boone but that remains to be seen!

I have the parents of Walter William, Earl, Carl, and Laura as William Phillip Raub b. 16 May 1862 in Prussia d. 20 Apr 1932 Youngstown, OH. Married Laura L Hayes in 1882. She was born 15 Oct 1857 in Union City, Erie, PA and d. 7 Mar 1923 in Youngstown, OH.

Beyond that I have the parents of William Phillip Raub as William Raub b. 1929 Prussia and Charlotte Gilbert b. 1837 in Prussia.

The Parents of Laura Hayes are Walter Hayes b. 1820 in Vermont and Rosanna Coon b. 1825 in New York. Laura Hayes had 2 brothers, Alvin and Thomas.

That's all I have at this time. If you find any further info, please let me know as I am following the same line.

Teresa Raub-Underhill
Pleebie@yahoo.com

Kathleen - I would be your uncle Lawrence's granddaughter. My father is Walter Douglas Raub, son of Lawrence E Raub and Elizabeth Wingard. I noticed a reply to your post from my aunt Beverly. Unfortunately, Aunt Bev passed away in Sept 2001. My father said the my grandfather had 3 brothers... Walter William, Glen, and Ted. He knew of the paper mill incident of Ted's son Larry, so both are in my line. He also said that my grandfather had a 1/2 sister from Vanwert, OH but that's all he knew about it.

Lawrence, Walter W., and Ted's father was also named Walter. I know that he was a professional balloonist and am looking for info on his career. One of my aunt's once had a news clipping about it. Anyone with info on this or the family tree, please e-mail me at Pleebie@yahoo.com.

Thanks,
Teri Raub-Underhill

Hello to all those who have posted before me in regards to the Raub Family. I had a great aunt, Mildred (LUNN) (her 3rd mariage), who married Dr. Lawrence Gregory RAUB, DDS. He attended college at the University of Michigan (years probably between 1918 to 1922); taught courses in dentistry after graduation; and later became a well noted and respected physician in Olean, Cattaraugus co., New York. I always thought that "Doc" may have had family in Michigan (or remember talk amongst the family when I was a kid, that there was family of his in Michigan). Lawrence, b.16 Feb 1897, Olean, NY and d.Feb 1972, Riverview, Florida. If anyone can relate to this post, please contact me, would like to find out more about Lawrence (his first wife, any children, etc).
