My husband's maternal grandfather was Mariano Razo born 1887 in Irapuato, Guanajuato, Mexico. He was one of 9 children born to Vincente and Tranquilina (Perez)Raso. There children were Gerardo Abundio b.1874; Hilaria Paula b.1877; Maria Theresa Florentina b. 1879; Maria Guadalupe Lucia b. 1882; my husbnad's grand J. Mariano b. 1887; Dolores b. 1892; Maria Ysais b. 1893; Maria Dominga b.1894; and Maria Francisca b. 1895.
Mariano was just barely 20 when he immigrated to the states to look for work in 1906 and found work on the Sante Fe RR when they were building the Raton Pass between Southern Colorado and Northern New Mexico. He settled in LaJunta, Colorado and continued working for the RR until he retired after 45 years. He married Petra DeLeon and had 11 children, 9 who lived to adulthood.
The story that Doloris told his family is that the younger children of Vicente and Tranquilina were orphaned with the death of their parent between 1895 and 1900's and he and Marian went to live with an uncle (I have no idea if this was a paternal of maternal uncle). Mariano left because the uncle treated him unfairly but later he sent for Dolorez when he had found work and the two of them lived out their lives in Colorado. They both kept in touch with an older sister, I think it was Hilaria.
Would love to make a connection with family descendant of these children.
Lexi Romero
Razo Surname

I am researching my GGG Grandmother FRANCISCA RAZO from Ciudad Manuel Doblado in Guanajuato, she married ALBERTO CORDOVA also from the same area in Guanajuato. (His parents were: RUPERTO CORDOVA AND LOUISA MEDEL.) Francisca and Alberto had only one child together that I know of, a daughter named SOCORRO CORDOVA. She married PABLO SANDOVAL who was from Guanajuato as well.
FRANCISCA RAZO was said to have died young in Mexico. I am curious to see if anyone knows what happened to her or where she is buried. I have no ideas about who her family was.....did she have brothers and sisters?........who were her parents?
I am kind of stumped since I have regularly checked records online at Family Search(the Mormons website), and Ancestry.com. Anyone working on the same family tree? Can anyone help?

My mom grew up in near Salamanca, GTO. MX. Her maiden name is Lupe Razo born to Valente and Trinidad Razo. The town they lived in, near Salamanca, was called "Los Razos" because there were, and still are, a lot of Razos. My mom came to California where she met my dad (a Cardenas) and had my sisters and I. Now we reside in Los Angeles, CA. -Alma

Well, it's been 8 long months since I last wrote this e-mail. Thanks to our Almighty God, I have found my brothers & sisters. My older brother's name is Jose Luis Razo and he still lives in Dallas, TX.

But I am still lacking information on relatives that live in Mexico. Like I said before, the little towns name is Guerrero, Coahuila, MX. I went to that towns cemetery but found only one person with that name. The other tombs were unreadable and deteriorated.

Please send all information that yoy might have. Thanks.

I would like to know if there are still relatives living in Salamanca, GTO. MX. My dad's name was Jose Hernandez Razo and was born in Rotan, TX on Nov. 20, 1929 and died in CrystaL City, TX on Jan. 11, 1987. Eventhough, my Dad was born in Rotan, TX I don't think they stayed there long. My Dad used to go to Mexico alot, across the border from Eagle Pass, Tx. I know for a fact that he had relatives in Salamanca, GTO., MX and the last time my Dad visited that city was on or about 1986. My Dad also had relatives in Coahuila near Piedras Negras, Coah, MX but I can't remember the little town's name. My dad had only one brother, his name is Miguel Razo and he lives in La Pryor, TX. My dad's married Teresa Razo but she died giving birth to her 5th child. My Dad later married my Mom Maria Razo.
My Dad had a total of 10 children all grown up. From his 1st marriage they live in South Texas and ther rest of us live in the Gulf Coast (Gulf of Mexico).
Any information is greatly appreciated.
