Is there a reference in the information you have to a John Thomas Reany? I have John Thomas Reany on the family tree, but no information about his parents, only that they died when he was very young and he was reared by relatives.

I have been trying to locate information on an ancestor John Thomas Reany. In a group photo, the only individual that is identified by name is a Frank Reany. I don't have a clue if this is the individual you are seeking, but I will be happy to share the photo with you if you can identify him. Who were Frank's parents? I will need an email address to send the photo. You may contact me directly at nigmal.melanie@gmail.com

Melanie Mann

I have been researching this branch of my family for a number of years. I have hit a dead end with trying to locate information on the family in the Fairbury, IL area. I have a photo of John Thomas Reany and children that was taken after Alice died, but I would love to find a photo of Alice Loufanny Johnson Reany. In addition, if there is any information regarding the birth and parents of her husband John Thomas Reany, that would be tremendously appreciated. All I know of him is his birth 1856 in Rock Island, IL and death 1926 in Milford Center, OH. I have visited the graves of the Reanys in Cooper Cemetery, Fairbury, IL.

Yes, there are several of us Reanys here in Hamilton county and throughout the Ohio, Indiana, Kentucky Tri-state area, we have also branched out to North Carolina and Virginia as well. I don't know about a reany bible around here (nothing in the library) however there are a few of us here that are researching our history and have gone as far back as the Civil War.....I personally am working on our European past as well. I would be more than happy to speak more with you on the matter and compare notes.

Thanks,
Eric Reany

Found a Gouveneur Rainey in 1850 census working for the John Shafer family as a laborer. Also listed in same county are John, Jane, Mary J., Robert, Ellen, and Jasper at same time that may have been the parents and siblings of Gouveneur.
Suspect the surname was misspelled or changed to Rainey.
Any leads or help will be appreciated.

Email address also: cgrainey@bigfoot.com

Thanks

Trying to find documents relating to this family. John Thomas Reany and Alice Loufanny Johnson were married in Ohio, had two children there before moving to the Fairbury, Illinois area about 1880. In Fairbury their family increased by four. Children's names were John Franklin, 1877, Cordelia Ann, 1879, Leroy Thomas, 1891, Harry Raymond, 1884, Elizabeth Viola, 1886, and Virginia Dare, 1889. I believe Virginia Dare went by the name "Dora".
