I know that the surnames connect w/each other, I am just unable to find the link.
What is it that no one wants to admit to the WEELDON/WEEDEN/WHEELDON surname?
This all becomes much more provocative and hoping someone will share w/me.

Sampson Goliath Reddicks, My info on him is:
married Effie Jane Tatum, Children I have are,
Mary Daniel Reddicks, Nellie Hazel Reddicks,
Lydia H. Reddicks, Helen E. Reddicks.
I don't have any other children listed on the
1920 Louisville, Jefferson County, Kentucky census,
it's also listed as West Kentucky.
I would like to stay in contact with you also.

I thought Sampson Reddicks was from Texas. He was my Grandfather on my mothers side. He was the father to my mother. There was several kids in the family,my Mother Hazel,Mary,James,etc. can't recall the others off hand.

He is buried in Louisville,Kentucky. I currently live in Hobart,Indiana. I was born in Louisville as well.

It seems that we are related
My grandfather was James Duncan Reddicks married to
Mary Ellen Rowell.
His father was Samuel Edward Reddicks Married to Mary
(Sally) Reed. She died and Samuel married Josephine Hall.
It is good to hear from you. I want to keep in touch with
you,maybe we can both learn some more info if we put our heads together. Where are you? I am in Texas.

These are all part of my familt tree. My gg grandfather was Sam Reddicks who was married twice. Sally died and my gg grandfater married Josie.

Look at my tree and you can see the connection. These are my maternal relatives.

My family was in Macon County, Haywood County,North Carolina in the 1800's-1840. Then to Gilmer County and Fannin County ,Ga. I am trying to put all the pieces together in this line. Two of my Reddicks married Johnston in the early 1820's. Let me know if this fits your family line!

I am searching for my great grand fathers decedents. My great-grand father's name was Enoch Reddick
Born – March, 1854 – (Dawson, GA moved to South Carolina,)
Died – November 12, 1940 – buried Woodlawn Cemetery Aliquippa PA on November 14, 1940 (He was 86 years old)

Enoch's wife was Annie Hall - Born 1865 Stewart Co. GA
Died - October 8, 1938 - buried Shingler Cemetery Shingler GA

Enoch and Annie had 5 Children:
Roosevelt Reddick (my grandfather)
Flessabell Reddick,
Gladis Reddick who is a boy,
Odessa Terry Reddick,
George Reddick, Clyde Reddick who is a girl)

I'm trying to locate/find out who were Enoch's parents

Hi again. I have Joseph L. Reddicks and Eliza O. Harvey who had Samuel E. Reddicks who married Josie Hall in 1857 in KY, but shows up in 1873 married (3-13-1873) to Sallie Reed (KY) -- think these are same folks?

I am African American and descended from a white Riddick gentleman and a black female servant who had a son named Harrison about 1890 in Gates County North Carolina. I do know that Reddick and Riddick probably refer to the same white Riddicks who came to the United States in the early 1600's and settled in Tidewater Virginia. Some were from England and some may have been from Scotland and Ireland. Before the American Revolution, many Riddicks left Virginia and moved further South into North Carolina and other Southern states. I would start by trying to gather birth and death certificates of those relatives who died after 1913. (1913 is the year the state of N.C. started recording deaths) Death certificates will give you the names of the deceased's parents if the informant knew their identities. I would then go back and check the marriage registers along with marriage licenses to see if the names of the parties parents are listed. This is one way to do this. If you know of a white Reddick family who your family is connected to or was said to have worked for at some point in time, you may try to research that family and see what you come up with. At minimum, its very difficult for blacks to do. It takes time and luck for many to do family research, but it takes a great deal of time and patience for us to trace our ancestry.

All I have on Sampson came from Thelma Margaret Jones in
Kentucky.She is the daughter of Daniel Reddicks also a brother to Sampson. My Aunt went to Kentucky to see her. I
do not know how to reach Margaret. I may be able to get that info for you. Margie

There are Reddick who were buried in Tharpe cemetary in Seymour, Wayne county Iowa. Thomas P. Reddick Jr. and most of his family. He had brothers William and Simon, whom I do not know the names of their children. I do not know where they may have ended up, though a brother-in-law,Henry Clay Kennedy, who went to Port Arthur, TX around 1898. There are also Reddicks connected to the Tharp family in ILL.

Addition to the reddick query. The Reddick family is an Afro-American family. James Reddick was probably born in New Bern, NC. He died in 196o in Lenoir cty (Kinston), NC. His wife was Junnie (Parker) Reddick and was the daughter of Sherrod and Lizzie Parker.
