Hi Darrel,
This is a list of Simon Reeder (13sep1775 - 1849) and Elizabeth Boone Reeder's (11jul1779 - 28apr1866) children. These names and dates were listed in the bible of their grandson James Hutchison.
..Sary 24jul1796
..Ben B. 13apr1799
..Mary 12apr1803
..Nancy 18oct1804
..Simon Jr 19oct1807
..Jacob B. 16feb1810
..William B 13aug1813
..Daniel B. 24may1816
..Martha 12jul1820..

I believe this to be very reliable information since Betsy Boone Reeder, the mother of the above children lived until 1866 and several of the children themselves were alive when James Hutchison prepared his bible.

You will see that Charlotte does not appear on the list. Besides Charlotte, a Susan Reeder married Samuel Scott on the 25feb1831, and a Sarah Reeder married Thomas Senteney 16dec1821, all in Brown Co., OH.

I also considered if Charlotte could have been Simon and Betsy's granddaughter, but the dates just don't work out.
Ben B. Reeder was born 1799; he didn't marry until 1819 and he died cc1824 leaving three well documented children. The rest of the boys would have been too young to have children marrying in 1835.

I am inclined to believe that Simon Reeder was the guardian for these Reeder girls. His name is included in the marriage papers for one of them, I know which one, but couldn't lay my hands on the paperwork. Possibly he had a brother who had died and left the girls in his custody. Simon and Betsy were wealthy and would have no trouble supporting an expanded family.

Please contact me at <a href="http://www.Kirk-land@msn.com" target="_blank">www.Kirk-land@msn.com . I would like to know if you have any other information on the Reeder family.
Nancy

Searching for children of Violet Reeder. She was the daughter of James (Jim) Reeder of Edna, Indian Territory then Oklahoma. Her mother died shortly after the birth of a brother while they were in Oregon. Then Jim and children returned to Oklahoma... She apparently moved to California as an adult and died in San Diego. Was reortedly married to James Marvin Matthew and had 5 children. Then married a James Inman, then a Mr. White. But can find no records to confirm any of this.

My wife's gggrandfather was also William Nathan Reeder. I am just starting, and not quite sure where to begin, but I thought it might be interesting to see if I could not locate any grave stones of her relatives. This brings me to my question; where is Reeder's Mill, AL? I found an old map of Alabama which shows Reeder's Mill in Barbour County, but the detail is limited.
I am looking for information on Simon Reeder and Elizabeth Boone. One record on family search says that Charlotte Reeder was their daughter.
I also am trying to verify this. From the number of children each husband & wife had, and the birthdates I have seen for the children, it certainly does seem like these are two different Joseph Reeders. I am decended from William Reeder who is listed as a child of Joseph Reeder & Dorothy Sutton. I would appreciate any information you can provide to help verify who the parents were for that Joseph Reeder. --Bob Reeder (bob@reedersutherland.com)

Re: Charles (?Joseph) Reeder

This Charles Reeder was the son of Joseph Reeder (1681-bef May 31, 1732) and Mary Biles (his 1st wife). They had two known children Joseph and John.

After Mary, died he married Margaret Smith and had three known children: Sara, Isaac and William.

Joseph's Will lists a Charles, son.
Frandsen Family History:
"Joseph Reeder was in Bucks County, PA in 1731. He listed himself of "Ye County of Bucks and Province of Pensilcania, husbandman" in his will written 6 December 1731. His will was probated on 31 May 1732. One of the executors of the will, Timothy Smith is listed as being of Makefield Township, Bucks County, the presumption of parentage seems reasonable. Since Joseph specifically mentioned in his will, "if it should please god to bless us with any more childreans, " his wife must have been in her child-bearing years. He also stated that his estate was to be divided when his youngest child, Isack is sixteen between his wife and his children adding "and any other of my children." Joseph Reeder's WIll proved by Elijah Doan Joan Dillon ye 31st day of May 1732, # 106. There is a copy of it in the Frandsen Family History. Sarah is listed first, and not third like the John Reeder Society has her.

They are two separate Joseph Reeders. One Joseph married Dorothy Sutton and living and died in PA. He is the son of Charles Reeder and Eleanor Merrick.

The other Joseph Reeder married Elizabeth Henderson and moved to VA/WV and they both died there. This couple were originally from PA according to the 1880 census on their children. It was never ascertained who Joseph's parents were but were also believed to be from the Bucks Co, PA Reeder group.

There should be no confusion about who married whom...They are two separate Josephs.

Linda

I am looking for information on Joseph Reeder born 9/3/1738 and died 8/12/1793. I know he married Elizabeth Henderson and Dorothy Sutton. I also know he has children with both. What I can not make sense of is the dates of the children's birth and who has what child.
Also, was he married to both women at the same time??? It is very confusing. Please email me any information on this Reeder. I have been trying to make sense of it. I also have other information about the Reeder family if interested in sharing. My email is linzymacmorgan@gmail.com

There are a bunch of William HH's born in OH. Can you be a little more specific as to where, approx age, anything you can to help me ID him.

It usually stands for William Henry Harrison Reeder.

It got in vogue after Tippecanoe and Tyler too. They had kind of worn out George Washington and Thomas Jefferson. :-)

Linda

Looks like this one also belongs to Frank Lincoln Reeder and Sarah Alice Hawkins. Is there a mixup in the records and the Frank Lincoln Reeder that married Bertha Ray is not the son of Thomas Corwin Reeder???? OR was he married to Sarah Alice prior to Bertha...

1900 United States Federal Census
Name: Thomas C Reeder Home in 1900: Humboldt, Coles, Illinois [Coles, Illinois] Age: 50 Birth Date: Dec 1849 Birthplace: Ohio Race: White Gender: Male Relationship to head-of-house: Head
Father's Birthplace: Ohio Mother's Birthplace: Ohio Spouse's Name: Sarah A Reeder Marriage year: 1872 Marital Status: Married Years married: 28 Source Citation: Year: 1900; Census Place: Humboldt, Coles, Illinois; Roll: T623_244; Page: 9B; Enumeration District: 24.
Household Members: Name Age
Thomas C ReederDec 1849
Sarah A Reeder Jun 1854
Hattie B ReederDec 1876
John C Reeder Mar 1879
Sylva A Reeder May 1884
Sarah M Reeder May 1888
Clarence A Reeder Aug 1891 Nephew IL OH OH
George H Shirley Aug 1872 Servant

1910 United States Federal Census
Name: Thomas Reeder Age in 1910: 60 Estimated Birth Year: 1850 Birthplace: Ohio Relation to Head of House: Head Father's Birth Place: Ohio Mother's Birth Place: Ohio Spouse's Name: Sarah Reeder Home in 1910: Humboldt, Coles, Illinois Marital Status: Married Race: White Gender: Male Source Citation: Year: 1910; Census Place: Humboldt, Coles, Illinois; Roll: T624_236; Page: 9B; Enumeration District: 0052; Image: 800; FHL Number: 1374249.
Household Members: Name Age
Thomas Reeder 60
Sarah Reeder 55 m-37 6-6
Hattie Reeder 32 Dau
Maud Reeder 22 Dau
Albert Reeder 18 Nephew
Lois Reeder 2 Granddaughter

1920 United States Federal Census
Name: Albert Reeder [Albert Ruder] Home in 1920: Humboldt, Coles, Illinois Age: 28 Estimated Birth Year: abt 1892 Birthplace: Illinois Relation to Head of House: Self (Head) Spouse's Name: Zella Reeder Father's Birth Place: Ohio Mother's Birth Place: Ohio Marital Status: Married Race: White Sex: Male Home owned: Rent Able to read: Yes Able to Write: Yes Source Citation: Year: 1920;Census Place: Humboldt, Coles, Illinois; Roll: T625_304; Page: 11A; Enumeration District: 64; Image: 78
Household Members: Name Age
Albert Reeder 28
Zella Reeder 25
Elizabeth Reeder 1 [1 10/12]

1930 United States Federal Census
Name: Albert Reeder Home in 1930: North Okaw, Coles, Illinois Age: 38 Estimated Birth Year: abt 1892 Birthplace: Illinois Relation to Head of House: Head Spouse's Name: Zilla Reeder Race: White Source Citation: Year: 1930; Census Place: North Okaw, Coles, Illinois; Roll: 412; Page: 7A; Enumeration District: 27; Image: 483.0.
Household Members: Name Age
Albert Reeder 38
Zilla Reeder 35
Betty Reeder 11
Carl Johnson 26

I have noted from the earlier post that John William Reeder was marked as being born in 1896 BUT the census record shows 1886 and that would make it more believable that these are children of an earlier marriage of Frank Lincoln Reeder, son of Thomas C.
Weirdly enough, while in Maryland last weekend I took a picture of a headstone for a Charles C. Reeder died 1896. When I subtracted the birth date you listed against the date of death he would have been 38 which is listed on his gravestone. If you think that maybe this could be your relative I would be more than happy to send you the pictures I have taken. My email is magneticfem@comcast.net feel free to email me if you would like the pictures.

Thanks,
Rebecca Blazo

Siler was poss born in Feb 1865 and was still with George in the census in 1900-1910 census. The original marriage record says her mother (Felicia) gave the courts permission for Felicia (17 but not 18) to marry George. So mom is still alive and still a Reeder on 24 Oct 1882.

Sept 3, 1890 is the marriage record for David Coffman and Felicia Reeder both being over age of concent. (I believe this one to be the mother)

I have electronic access to both records in the marriage books.

Linda Roberts
lroberts13@cfl.rr.com

Thank you for responding to my message. What information do you have on Isaac N. Reeder? I know that he was born in Ohio, was married to Maria Helms, had my g grandfather Jame Barett Reeder. that is all I know. If we are speaking of the same Isaac Reeder I guess that means that we are cousins. Thank you so much for contacting me.

My maiden name is Reeder. I am attempting to do a family history search. My father is Charles Franklin Reeder 6, Oct. 1938 to 2006. His Father is George Ross Reeder 1888, to 1942. He is the son of James Barrett Reeder of Illinois, son of Isaac N. Reeder of Ohio, and died in Kentucky in the Civil War. Any information on this Reeder family would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
