Hello Denise, I know of a Lawson Rhynold from Canso NS, although I never met him , he was my father's brother. The story I was told growing up was that he was killed in a car accident, not sure of the year. My father was born in 1919, in Canso NS. My grandmother is their grand daughter, which would make them my great-great grandparents, I think. I dont have a whole lot of info on that side of the family as my grandmother was adopted, but she is still in touch with some living descendants of Dorothy Reinhold, I have met them before, they came to new england to visit, but i will have to ask again for their names and stories. I know one woman's name was Linnea, and they live somewhere out west, do you know these relatives or would you like me to inquire?

Hi I just came across your message about Reinholdt's. My grandmother was Mary H. Reinholdt. Born in 1878 in Germany. Her partents, Charles and Dora came to the United States in 1885 and lived in St. Louis, Missouri. She had 3 sisters, Bertha, Anna, and Freda. Also 3 brothers, Paul, Charles, and Louis. My grandmother Mary married Sherman Coddington in 1902 and had two children Frieda and Arthur Coddington. I have not been able to find out any more prior information about my family. There is a burial in the Reinhold family plot in Lutheran Cemetery that I cannot connect to the family. The primary owner of the plot is Henrietta Reinhold. Buried in the plot are her husband Joseph, her daughter Amelia Bach Loven; son Paul and wife Elizabeth; son Robert and wife Jennie. Also buried there are several sons of Robert and their spouses. How is Minnie Reinhold (her married surname) connected to the family?

Minnie Reinhold died 9 August 1929, age 24, in the Bronx at 837 E 165th Street. This gives her an estimated birth date of 1905. The death certificate says that she and her parents were born in the United States. Her parents are listed as Paul Miller and Minnie [Frig]. The only relevant census I can find for the Minnie Miller family in the 1920 census are for Millers that are listed as coming from Germany or Russia - Poland.

Sorry momajo but I don't think so. All my Reinholds appear to come from a small area in Saxony centred around Zwichau.There may have been some who emigrated of course but, apart from my Great Grandfather, I have not come across any.Also Oscar does not appear to be a name used by the family.

Christian Gottlob Reinhold was born in Mulsen St Jacob,Sachsen 7 July 1788 and died 6 July 1815 in the same location. He married Johanne Sophie Handschuh of Hohenstein who was born c. 1782. She died on 21 December 1846 in Mulsen St Jacob.
I am looking for relatives up or down the line.The Reinholds lived in Mulsen St Jacob at least until the end of the 19th C

Im not sure that its the same person,since my post I have found out some more...see what you think.

max otto reinhold studied confectionary in vienna then moved to england(leeds)between 1901 and 1905 from germany and married Florence Matilda Hutchinson (from leeds) They had two children Freida and Hermann. Max owned a confectionary shop, until world war 1 started and he was interned (he later sold his shop due to racial violance)After selling they all moved to coventry warwickshire.

His farther was a master baker also from germany (we found that bit out on his marriage cert.)
Falkenstien is on some pics we have, along with dresden...

My mum thinks max otto reinhold came from a large family, and that some emigrated to LA

My great Unlce Hermann (max's son)emigrated to New Zealand.

We know they spoke esperanto as max taught my mum some! and we have pictures of there club...another possabilty is their jewish, we have a picture of our family in germany with a large star behind them??!!

what else....when my mum was 20 something a load of germans turned up at her house (they couldnt speak english) and she spent the weekend with them, however she cant remember there names, but we have photos!

On my grandma (freida) wedding cert. a Helene Reinhold is mentioned but we dont no the connection!

is this any help...maybe some of my family moved to London way before Max..

Ill try and help you anyway...my mum has called so many places in england trying to find out! im waiting for them to put the 1905 census up!

I was pretty excited when I saw your posting....I think we have a link somewhere.
The things that click in your message are...Hermann Reinhold That name and spelling are in our family from at least 1843 when great grandfather was born in Saxony (Savany) Germany.
The other link is Warwick England. Hermann married an Elizabeth from Warwick in 1870 and they lived in and around the Greater London area where they had 4 sons ..This is where the other link comes in..... They had a son Otto Hermann and another son Adolphus Otto which leads me to believe that Otto and Hermann are family names. The other family names are Ernest Edward and George.
Like the family that you mentioned they also were affected by WW1. We have a clipping from 1914 stating that Adolphus Reinhold had legally changed his name to Reynolds.It is reported that one brother did not do this and his family still lives as Reinholds in Sussex.
As you may have noticed there is some confusion as to where the senior Reinhold was born. The census states he was born in Savany but it doesn't seem likely . We have always thought it was Saxony. Falkenstein is in that area so it seems to fit.
Lastly Hermann was an educated man and got a good job as an engineer in Woolwich. He could have been educated in Germany but since he married an English girl I am wondering if he didn't go to school in Warwick?? Maybe his family emigrated to England after he was born and they settled in Warwickshire? And maybe he had brothers and sisters and that is where you come in....It's possible..Or there could have been family already in Warwickshire and the Reinholds went to join them .This is the case with my German ancestors in the States. There was 30-40 years between the emigrations of the cousins.
Does any of this fit with what you know? Do you have any other information?
You are the first person I have come across that "speaks my language"A German born Reinhold with English connections.
I sure hope we are on to something!!!!

he was born abt 1883 (germany somewhere maybe falkenstein)
married in england (leeds)in 1908
died 1953 in warwickshire

He was also interned in the isle of man during th WW1....

Does anyone no how i can find out where he was born?

I can't help you either but while searching for different information, I ran across this letter.
My husbands grandfather came to America in early 1900's from Estonia. I don't know what country that he actually sailed from. The family believes that his name was Reinhold, but when he came to American, he became George Wilson. He married in San Francisco to a girl that he met on the boat, last name Krutop also from Estonia.
We have just had my husbands Y-DNa done. Have not the results yet, but we were able to get it done at a cost break through the Reinheart surname group, with familytree DNA.
I will be very interested to see what we come up with. It might also be an idea of another search tool for your situation.

My Grandfathers name: Nils Reinhold Lalin
he was born 1900,in Stockholm Sweden his mother Anna gave him to the Lalin family and her mothers name was Alma i don't know her last name, her Daughter was Anna probally born 1882 ?
i have to look for a piece of paper my mother gave me along time ago to see if we could ever find my Granfather's real Mother. we think due to his birth papers given him the middle name to find him later when she could take care of a child, or this Lalin family just up a raised him because she was too young and it was hush hush back then..about having a baby and not married - i don't know
there was talk about her going to London and possibly coming to the United States to look for him. He searched for so long and never found her. My Grandfather is dead now
but i still try to see if i have any living relatives from my origin.
My Brother and I are the only living from my Mother and her Father - Nils Reinhold Lalin
maybe we might have something and maybe i stumbled on an answer

Pretty sure that's my great great grandfather you are referring to. I believe he had a child Benjamin Reinhold (born in Lancaster, PA), who in turn had a child Samuel Reinhold (born in Lancaster, PA), who in turn had a child Samuel Reinhold Jr., who in turn had a child Samuel Reinhold III. I have researched the other side of the family, but still don't know a lot about this side yet actually.

He was born in Beckum, Westphalia, Europe, Feb 15 1834. He came to the United States in 1855, locating at Cincinatti, Ohio, where he remained one year; thence to West Point, Iowa, remaining six months; then to Keokuk, Iowa, working in a brewery for one year; then to St. Louis, Mo., where he worked in Lemp's brewery for two years; he then returned to West Point, Iowa and started a brewery, opening in August, 1860, continuing it for four years. In 1864 he went to Nauvoo, where he conducted a vinyard for eight years. In 1872 he returned to Keokuk, Iowa, where he built a brewery, etc., at an expense of nearly $32,000. An artesian well, located under a dwelling, sunk, taking part of the house with it, causing a damage of over $3,000. To complete the trouble, next year a tornado swept the brewry away, and what was left sold for $4,500. He then came to Quincy, going into the saloon business.
He married Miss Catharina Wischard, Aug. 20, 1860.
They have six children: Katie, Amelia, Henry, Willie, Minnie, and Joseph.
They are members of the Catholic church.
He is a Democrat. On one account of his politics, he was the first to suffer in the late unpleasantness in 1860, when he was thrown at with bricks, and injured at St. Louis, Mo., being at the time when the Turn Halle was barricaded for two days and nights.

He was born March 15, 1936, in Eldorado, the son of Harry and Evelyn Adams Reinhold Sr. On Oct. 19, 1957, he married Carol A. Jahns at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Eldorado. Surviving him are his wife, Carol; one daughter, Sher Deaver of Eldorado; one son, Steve Reinhold of Fond du Lac; three granddaughters, D' Lynn Browne and her husband, Troy, of Bangor, Wis., Lisa Deaver of Ripon and her friend, Alan Zoellner of Fond du Lac, Kristin Levenhagen, and her husband, Dan, of Oshkosh; a brother, Harry Reinhold Jr., and his wife, Dolores, of Fond du Lac, further survive him.

I am looking for information on an August "Gussie" Reinhold who was born in Illinois about 1874 and was living in St.Louis in 1891. I believe that he married "Louise" and had two sons. He and his family stayed in St. Louis. I am looking for a date of death, cemetery, etc. All assistance greatly appreciated!

Hi Tammy! Christopher Reinhold was my ggg-grandfather. I descend from his son Lorenz and from Lorenz's son William Louis and I have information on this line that I am happy to share. I haven't been able to find a record of Christopher's death; what did you find? Which of the children of Christopher does your husband descend from?
