Hello Jocelyn, I hope you are still around here. I always believed the name came from Italy but it was recently that I started researching a bit and found out that there are italian people in documents with the last name Resto, also with Resta, Di Resta and Risto. So you are saying it traces to Córcega it makes a lot of sense to me. I would love to know how you managed to trace it back there and around what time it is recorded that it arrived here. Hi, My name is Erick Resto and I'm trying to find info about the Restos. My father was Enrique Resto Velazquez, only child and I think he was from Aguas buenas...although he lived in NY till he married my mom and moved to Costa Rica...I know my grandmother was the sister of Manuel Velazquez, the guitar maker.....have never met any restos aside from my 2 sisters and would like to know more about my roots so hopefully someday I can pass that info to my future kids....

Im looking for my dad, Hector Resto-Baez. I really dont know much about him or where he was from in Puerto Rico. I have never met him, once when I was 5! I have no clue if I have an extended family or brothers and/or sisters, cousins, aunts...etc. All I have to go by is his name and that he is older than 60-65 yrs of age. Any help is greatly appreciated!.......Estoy tratando de conseguir a mi papa, Hector Resto-Baez. En verdad no se mucho de el o de que parte de Puerto Rico es el. Nunca lo e conocido, solo una vez hace mucho tiempo cuando tenia 5 a~nitos! No tengo idea si tengo mas familia, hermanos o/y hermanas, primos, tias...etc. Lo unico que tengo para localizarlo es su nombre y que es mayor de 60-65a~os de edad. Cualquier ayuda es agradecida!

My name is Jaime Alvira. My grandmother was Rosalia Lima Rivera and my great grandmother was Eladia Lima De Rivera. I believe Petra Rivera Alvira may also fit into the picture, but I haven’t been able to make a connection. I’ve listed all of my grandmothers known brothers and sisters below. All I know is their names. Nelson, Raymond, Candido II, and I think Luis. Her sisters are Margie, Betsy, Gloria, and Ada. Mother's Name was, Gloria, and her Father Was Candido Resto I.

My great grandmother, Maria, married Pedro Resto, and had my grandfather, Rafael. I don't think there's a relation there then, because her maiden name was De Los Angeles-Camacho.

Maria, listed here was born Maria Resto y Cruz born in Aguas Buenas P.R and raised in Cayey P.R. But I have not looked into who she was married to. Do you have your great grandmothers childrens names and where did they live?

I'm not sure how to start this but, my name is Candido Nelson Resto. For the past 8 years I have been trying to find my family. My mother and I lost contact with them when I was 13. I was doing some reseach on my name and found your family tree. I'm not sure if we are related but, I could sure use your help if you can. My mother (Rose Mary Resto) died on August 9th 2001. I'm not even sure if the family knows that she passed. I've been alone ever since. I need to find them to tell them what has happened. I can give you what I know of our lineage, but it's not much. My Father's name was Juan Resto Fonseca he was born in Utuado, PR in 1938 and later moved to Florida, PR as a young adult. His father died in the 70's and was buried in Utuado. I have a lot of family member still living in Florida PR

The Canary Islands were a last stopping point before passengers heading to the new world. The name I have traces it back to Crcega, perhaps your ancestor boarded a ship there?

I may know soemthing on your dad. Apparently my grandfather had a son out of wedlock. Once upon a time, many moons ago, I met your uncle Olympio and his family in NJ, to include the grandmother. She had some questions for me on my grandfather. I didn't think much of it until I found out about the "other son" in 1984. This is an old posting, hope you are still out there in 2008.

My name is Enrique Ruiz but my Grand father was Modesto Resto born in Aguas Buenas P.R and lived in Cayey P.R. My father did not carry his father's name either, because his parents were not married. My grand father had 14 brothers and sisters and so did my father, Thou our family is big I only know a small part.

My grandmother was Hermina Robles Resto. From Fajardo, PR, born 10/25/1885.

Since the hemophilia gene is passed from mother to daughter only the gene not the deased that is passed to their male offsprings.

Then since my father was not a hemophilia, we must assumed it came down on my grandmother side of the family passed to my mother than to my sister who had two hemophilia my mother also had one son with the deased who died at ten month of age.

My intrest is has any other Resto been effected by hemophilia also.

I have loads of info including Damian's baptism info.

I've been trying to find information on the Resto history and haven't been succesful, it appears as though their is a high concentration of Resto's living in Naguabo, Juncos and Las Piedras. My family is from Juncos. My dad's name was Laudelino Resto and his dad's name was Guillermo Resto. They hail from "Barrio Canta Gallo" any correllation???
