I would like to find a descendant fairly sure of their tree back to John and Gatsey, male or female, in order to verify paper findings by using DNA testing.
I would appreciate a response if any still out there.
Thanks.

Has anyone managed to gather any info regarding his parents or anything before him? I am at a roadblock and can't seem to find anything more about him other than he was married to Olie E. Conner and is John Wesley Ricks father down to my own father. I am quite sure we are not part of the Isaac/Joel Ricks line as I have already looked over several of those threads and can't find any links to our line. Any additional info you have would be greatly appreciated!

I'm trying to track down any information available about my grandmother Terah Ricks. She was also known as Terah Myers as the Myers family took her in after her parents died. Her father was involved with a paper mill, but I don't have anything aside from a last name, Ricks.

I was hoping that someone knew something about this family as we would love to be able to piece together a story that my grandmother cannot give us details about as she passed away in 1989.

Thanks for replying. I just reread all 53 posts on this thread and still confused. I saw references to Trigg Co. Ky and thought it must be the family I tie to genetically. There may be two or even three families involved here.
I test closely paternally dna-wise to the family tree of the Utah and Idaho Ricks line which passed through Trigg Co. My paper tree "seems" solid back to Macon, Ga. and I cannot tie the families together.
Sure wish some of the major players here would do ftdna family finder tests as it might straighten some of this out. Maybe it is straight and I'm confused. :-)
Jim

I seem to have genetic ties to the Isaac Ricks tree in common with the Utah and Idaho families based on paternal dna tests done with ftdna. I have also tested with Ancestry and 23and me.
I do not know how my paper tree family of Lucien3, Lucien2, Lucien1, John Ricks of Georgia origin tie in. Does anybody have info on this tie. Has any of the male Ricks posting here done dna testing and willing to share?

I don't know if I can be of much help, but here goes: Johann Christopher Reix (later Ricks)& Dinah Hayes did have a son John, b. 21 June 1771 in Chester Co., PA and d. 31 July 1853 in MO. After Christopher's death in 1784 Dinah and her children moved to Nelson Co., KY though I do not know why. John married Anna Marshall 14 Aug 1795 in Nelson Co., KY. All of this is documented.

I do not know if there are any Ricks now in Nelson Co. nor if there is any DNA for them. I suggest you contact the Nelson Co. Genealogical Roundtable in Bardstown as they have an active group.
Thomas P. Jones

He was my 8th great grandfather, and so far I have not found anything on him before abt. 1669, when his son (and my 7th great grandfather) Isaac was born. Thanks for your help.

This is true I from that same family line. Mayon Ricks is Larkins baby brother. Mayon is my great grandpa. You can find info on this line through "Rhodes-Montgomery family tree on Ancestry... Although some of the facts aren't exactly facts, such as Isaac (1807), has the wrong wife listed. I am at this time working on finding his real wife. This one cant be right because she is from trhe wrong nationality plus she was born 2 years after he oldest child LOL. When I first started doing this I was new at it and thought all info was fact but now that I have been at this a couple of years I am going back and rechecking the fact.. LOL But like I said most is right now.
