I have access to the Ruecker family book. I am a descendent to her via her 2nd marriage to Andreas Schramm. I live in canada. Approx 4 hours from where they settled in canada. Many docs are in the book. Let me know what details u still need. She would be my great gramma.

Katharina Karolina Rücker was born on 20 Sep 1853 in Ugartsthal, Galicia, now part of Ukraine. Her father was Georg Heinrich Rücker, born 5 Apr 1806 in Ugartsthal and died on 12 Mar 1853 in Ugartsthal. Her mother was Katharina Margaretha Görz, born on 13 Jan 1809 in Gelsendorf, Galicia and died on 12 May 1869 in Ugartsthal. They were married on 1 May 1827 in Gelsendorf. Katharina Karolina was the last of ten children.

The Rückers were one of the original families in Ugartsthal and the Görzs were one of the original families in Gelsendorf.

The name Görz is often spelled Goerz to avoid the umlaut and appears that way in Canada, along with Goertz. I've seen the Riekert variant on Rücker, though the reason for spelling the name that way is a mystery to me. Often it is found as Ruecker or Rueckert. One of the Rücker families that emigrated to Canada spell the name Ricker.

Seeking info on Karolina Riekert, married Michael Engel, had 3 children in Galicia: Michael, Maria and Lena (Karolina). Then married Andreas Schramm (my ancestor), don't know if married in Galicia or after going to Canada, and had Henry, Rudolf, Mary, Alexander, and Jacob SCHRAMM. After Andreas' death she married Jacob Hollinger in Saskatchewan.

I have her birth date and location via word of mouth from a relative, but no confirmation of that. Have no immigration records, or death record. I have birth information on her children with Engel, but that's it. I was told her father's name is Heinrich Ruecker, but all info on her children's birth records spell her name RIEKERT. Her mother was Margeret Goerz.

Would appreciate any information possible! Thanks!
