Hello, Jean - couldn't reply to you off-board as I am a Rootsweb user, not an Ancestry subscriber. If you would like to email me I can send you copies of Agnes Rimmington's birth and marriage certificates (she married Henry Herbert Fitch in 1902), which I received from a second cousin - a descendant of Agnes and my great-grandfather Jasper Boniston Willey. I have no direct relationship with Agnes Rimmington.

Hi there - I have researched this family as my mother was a Rimmington. Henry Rimmington and Annie Thomas were together and had 5 children - Henry, John W, Alfred, Agnes and Albert. Alfred was my grandfather. I couldn't find a marriage registration either and have been unable to track back Annie Thomas with any certainty without the marriage info. Henry Rimmington (I had a birthdate of 1844) was a carpenter and the family story is that he fell off a ladder and died. I calculate his death to be somewhere around 1890 as Albert was born in 1889 and in the 1891 census Annie is a widow. Annie remarried a Henry Bailey and family information is that they emgrated to Canada but I can't verify that. They are in the 1901 census. I thought I had found a marriage record for Agnes but can't find anything in my notes - if I find it I will let you know. Have you managed to find out anything more that might be of use to me? What is your relationship to Agnes? Many thanks

OK, we've got a little further. She was born in 1883 in Mile End, London. Her father was Henry Rimmington, born about 1847 in Nottingham, though haven't yet found his birth record (possibly Grantham, 1845). Her mother was Annie Thomas born in Haverfordwest, Pembrokeshire. Not found either her birth or their marriage record yet.

Looking for any information at all on Agnes Rimmington who married Jasper Willey in Hackney, east London, and had a son Andrew Dalby Willey in 1911. Cannot find any trace of the marriage, so it may not have been formalised (the fact that Jasper is listed as 'bachelor' in a subsequent 1920 marriage, supports this idea). Also, the child went into an orphanage and was later adopted, so she may well have died in 1911-12 - but unable to find death record under either surname.
Any information at all would be welcome ! - Steve Henley

Thomas H. Rimmington. Bradfield, Sheffield, England. Killed in the Great War, 1917

Stannington Roll Of Honour 1914-20

I have been researching the men from my village, Stannington, Sheffield who fell in the Great War 1914-20. I have now identified most of them - the result of this research can be found on my new website. http://www.stannington.webitsmart.co.uk/

This research now includes the men on the St Nicholas Church War memorial at High Bradfield.

There is limited information about the Rimmington family. If anybody can tell me more about Thomas H. Rimmington, it would be great.

Thanks in advance

Rbert.
