My grandmother

I am looking for any info on Eulalia Rios Rodriguez. She is my mother's mother. My mom did not know too much about her parents past.She did not know if her mother had any family at all. All I know is she lived and died in El Paso, Texas around 1947. I can not find any marriage certificates or death certificates. I have found some census records regarding a Eulalia Rios. But I can't be certain if it is her? I don't know where else to look? Can anyone help?

I went to high school in Erie Pennsylvania with your father's cousin Linda Rios (we graduated in 1968). I have a copy of the obituary for the mother of Linda Rios if that would be helpful for your research.

Looking for Rios in McAllen, Texas (Valley Area)

Looking for Rios family from McAllen, Texas area.

My Dad was born Juan L Rios in July of 1949. He was born with polio. He was adopted by a nurse from the hospital. His birth certificate say there were 2 other siblings.

His father was Juan Rios
Mother was Ramona Mendosa

I believe my dad had siblings in the area. I have not been able to find any leads. From what my Dad's adoptive mother tells me, his mother Ramona died at an early age in Mexico.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

I remember my dad telling me about an Elisa Santistevan. My father is Edward Santistevan. His dads brothers and sisters were Lisa, Lilly, Sally, Willie Santistevan from New Mexico. I'm just getting started researching my family history.

Hi,
Thank you so much for the photo. Do you know when it was taken or how old he might have been? Was it taken in Mexico? I have a public tree on Ancestry under the name Reese. Fortunato's picture appears there as well as my dad's picture. (Dad would have been Fortunato's son.) There looks to be resemblance in the face....

I would love to know more about your great grandfather and his family. Through my research I traced him to Indiana in the 1940s. The only info I have after that is from the SS Death Index in 1999. Do you know where he was in between those years?

A bracero was basically a male who came from Mexico for manual labor in the 40's. My great grandfather had traveled to the US well before the 40's. I have no idea how to post a picture on here. Would it be possible to email it to you instead?

He worked as a bracero in the US but I would not be able to tell you where exactly. I have a picture I can send you if you wish.

Do you know if he spent any time in Illinois in the late 1920s / 1930s? Also, I have a family tree on Ancestry. It has a picture of Fortunato from that time period... If you take a look, please let me know if he looks familiar....

Thanks. I don't know a lot about my grandfather. We believe that our Fortunato married my grandmother in 1930 and then left her at the end of 1933. She never heard from him again. My father was born 1n June 1934. We always wondered what happened to my grandfather and I've done a lot of research on Ancestry. If he's the person we believe him to be, his parents' names were Maria Luz Mena and Felipe. His social security death index listed his last address in South Gate. We also found other family related to Fortunato through his uncle Sacramento. They live primarily in Indiana and Florida now.

He died in a suburb of Los Angeles. In the city where his children lived. I don't recall anyone ever mentioning he had another family.

We believe that my grandfather was born in 1907 in San Francisco del Rincon and came to the US at one point in 1925. He lived in Chicago and Indiana for a period of time. Can you tell me where your great grandfather died and what his parents' names were?

Well my great grandfather was born in Guanajuato Mexico. In a small town called San Fracisco del Rincon. He traveled to the US to work at times. He and my great grandmother has several children one of them being my grandfather. He passed away in 1999.
Is there a specific reason you are searching for him?

Sadly my dad passed away thirteen years ago. But through my bros i have the answeres that i have always wondered about, that kept me up at night. My father was born in the 1900's in Puerto Rico and was a very light skinned man. My father came to the states, year and place unknown. Last known state and city he might have lived in was Delano, California. After searching all the records i cannot find any ship or airlines they may have taken to get to the united states. I did a vitalchecks for birth certificate records and they only go back to 1931 in the vital checks system so i cannot pull up a birth certificate to find out who my grand parents were. I am disable and cannot fly to pureto rico and try to find any records. I think from some of the searching i have done i think that my grand parents names were Bernardo and maria candelaira de medina de rios from hato viego puerto rico. So many rios families on these boards and we can't seem to connect. If any of this sounds fimiliar to anyone please send info to message board so that i can find a place to start looking.I thank you all in advance for your help. May we all find our loved ones.

Good news. I found out that my grandparents were bernardo suarez rios and maria candelaria medina rios both from puerto rico. My grandfather was born May of 1878. He died in 1962 in Honolulu, we both are from hawaii, and we both r looking 4 our relatives from PR, I have tried passenger list from the early 1900, I know what boat they came on, but no list, do u have info on how to find this list. u can call me my number is 808-833-5877, maybe we can compare info.

I just recently started looking for my grandparents. I am from Hawaii and my grandfathers name is Ramon Rios and I am looking for his family, brothers, sisters, parents all we know is he was born in Puerto Rico we do not know where specifically. I believe the time to be about 1900 but I could be mistaken. he worked in the plantation fields here. Do you have a date of birth or year? His 1st wife name was Ramona.

Odessa Marcos Ramos Rios, 94, passed away on Monday, Aug. 8, 2005, at Rockwood Manor in Midland, Texas.
He was born on April 25, 1911, in Redford, Texas. He was employed with the Railroad and was Catholic. Mr. Rios married Maria D. Valenzuela in 1949.
He is survived by his wife, Maria Rios of Odessa; sons, Marcos Rios Jr. and his wife, Estela, of Odessa, Alfonso Rios Sr. and wife, Grace, of Odessa, Abelardo Rios and wife Maria Elena of Catus, Alfredo Rios Sr. and wife, Maria, of Odessa, Ricardo Jimenez and wife, Guadalupe, of California, Ismael Rios and wife, Echo, of Odessa, daughters; Alicia Rodriquez and husband, Manuel, of Monahans, Aurora Renteria and husband, Cheyane, of Pecos, Anita Navarro and husband, Gilberto, of Fort Worth, Maria Herrera of Odessa, Amelia Cantu and husband, Arturo, of Fort Worth, Herminia Rios of Fort Worth, and Maria Luisa Rios of Odessa; sister, Lucia Cano of Redford; 53 grandchildren; 97 great-grandchildren; and 13 great-great-grandchildren.
A Rosary will be said at 7 p.m. today at Odessa Funeral Home Chapel. Mass will be celebrated at 4 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 11, at St. Josephs Catholic Church with the Rev. Joseph Uecker officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be: his granddaughters, Anita Hernandez, Sally Morales, Diana Rios, Brenda Cantu, Elsa Rios, Berta Gomez and Maria Rios and Amy Rios.
Services are by Odessa Funeral Home.
