James Grand Sir Robinette

I'm a direct decendant of James Grand Sir Robinette and live about 3 miles from where he is buried in Alexander County, N.C. Trying to find out who is father was. Some lines have Nathan Robinett (1718) as his father. Nathan Robinett lived in Pa. On the 1850 Federal Census, James Grand Sir Robinette listed his home state as Pa. If anyone has info on this matter it would be greatly appreciated.

Beth,

Josephine married Samual Patton (Pat) Stapleton and they had many children. One of the, Clyde Orbin Stapleton was my grandfather. He married Lilly Mae Taylor and they had several children but only one survived childhood, my dad Art Stapleton. The rest of the children died as babies and were buried in unmarked graves in/arould the coal camps in Lee and Wise counties. My dad lost all contact with his father around 1928. Clyde died in 1974 in Kingsport TN. It took me years to find this out. Josephine is buried in Big stone Gap. How are you related? My email is pjrhoads@yahoo.com
Hope to hear from you
Phyllis

I believe her parents are James Robinett born 19 Dec 1836 in Virginia and Elmire Jane Stuart born 24 Sept 1837, yet I am not 100% sure. Can anyone confirm her ancestry from there?

From what my mom has told me (and I never have felt very comfortable bringing it up), he had dark hair and blue eyes. He had a sister and a brother (brother named Johnny). I grew up in North Long Beach by McKinley Elementary. I have asked over the years where I get the space between my two front teeth from, and my mom has told me that it's from the Robinett side.

I've been involved with the fine art world for the large part of my adult life (as an art historian and as a gallerist). I'm in the process of becoming a librarian.
What about you? May I ask what your name is?

Well.... I'm 26, dark hair with blue eyes... I was born in Long Beach and we moved up to Round Mountain when I was very young. He was born on march 13, 1950(I believe) and was killed in a three wheeler accident on January 13, 1992.
Yeah anyway, I'm not terribly sure what to say but I've defiantly have been thinking about this since I saw your post. (I googled my dad's name for kicks and saw your post).
What do you do?

I wouldn't refer to him as my father, per se. I had a father growing up who passed away when I was in third grade. But a man by that name sired me, i.e. contributed genetics to my creation.

I apologize if any of this is too strange to discuss. Again, I don't mean to intrude on anyone's life, I've been genuinely curious for years, that's all.

I must say that I've always sensed I had half syblings in the world and I would love the opportunity, if it were mutual, to begin communicating. Again, I don't know if this is the same individual in question. You are welcome to google me and do an image search. I've got curly dark hair. Let me know if I bear any familial resemblance.

Hello SM Robinett,

My name is Rae Anne Robinett and I've been looking for the man who sired me whose name I have and who is named on my birth certificate, Gary Thomas Robinett. He went by Tom.
I am just curious. I am a historian so it has always been of interest to me to learn more about this individual or to even see a picture. He would have been living in Long Beach, CA during 1971 (I was born in 1972).

I'm not sure if it's the same person in question, but I would love to communicate with you about it if you are at all interested to. I sincerely appreciate your response to my post.

Did you ever find out anything about Charles Bloomer. He married my grandfather's sister Lucinda. According to the information written in Grandpa's book "My Life and Works," Lucinda married a man several years her senior ... he and my Grandfather's step father started a moonshine still ... were just about killed, got away with it and stopped production right away. Charles was killed (shot) by two drunk men in 1904. He was only trying to reason with them and stop trouble that had started at a dance in another home.

If you have further information about Charles, I would appreciate hearing from you. Thanks
Their children were Clifford Robinett (1906-1984), Henrietta Robinett, Melvin "Beeb" Robinett, and Thelma Robinett, all of whom (I believe) moved to the Long Beach, CA in the early 1900s from Ohio. Clifford Robinett is my grandfather.

I would be very interested in finding information about John and Louise's past lineage.

Rachel was my great grandmother. Her son Louis and his wife Joyce, my grandparents on my mother's side, pretty much raised my sister and I. And they lived in the town right next to Rachel so I got to spend a lot of time around her before she passed away in her early 90's.
