Rollin, Rollins, Rawling and Rawlings are all apparently variants of of the same name, so it is possible. I have some of these changes in my own family tree.

The surname database has some information on the origin of the name and its variants.

I'm tracing back and in one generation at the start of the twentieth century my family's surname seems to change from Rawlings to Rawling to Rollins to Rollin. Just wondering if they are likely to be the same family.

Thanks for your enquiry, William Rollin 1738 parents were
William Rollin 1700 & Mary Waste 1700. Both from North Collingham Nottinghamshire.Mar. 18. Nov. 1725 as above,
William died abt. 1745 as above. Children John 1727.
Ann 1732 William 29. July 1739 and two stillborn females at birth all born in North Collingham.

I have early Rollin!s all over Nottinghamshire but at the moment cannot conect them.

I have been researching my ancestors from the East Retford area and I can only take the Rollin line back to is 1738-ish. This was the birth of a William Rollin. I can't proof who his parents were as yet, but he married a Mary Woombell.

NO I haven't heard the information. since the post I have found out that

Horace Perry Rowland was my great grandmother father. The information was in the cemetery records and because I contacted the cemetery that is where I found information.

His wife was Blackfoot Indian and her white name was Elizabeth.

Searching for information on Sarah J. Roland (different spellings as per the subject line - not very sure which one is correct). She was b. approx. 1846 in Indiana to a father who was of foreign birth, apparently England and mother not known. In 1862, she married John Froman in Kansas and they had one son, John W., born 12/1866. Her husband died in 1867/68 and she remarried in 1870 to Mark Orcutt. They moved to Michigan, where she had several children (Mark, Esther, Mary, Levi & Ira) and she died in 3/1885. I cannot seem to locate her prior to 1870 Census.

Looking for the parents of Joachim Rollin. The only info I have is that Joachim was born in Sainte Genevieve, Quebec, and that Joachim married Madeliene Libersan in 30 Jan 1815, in Sainte Genevieve, Quebec. Any info regarding Joachim's parents would be greatly appreciated. I believe that Joachim is a descendent of Philippe Rollin who arrived in New France in 1720 from La Loupe, France.

Hi James: My maiden name was Rollin, I'm from Quebec, Canada, now living in Nova Scotia. I've been tracing my family tree and my ancestor Philippe Rollin arrived in Quebec in 1720 from La Loupe, France. I would like to know where your ancestors came from before settling in Nottinghamshire, UK. Also I've researched my mother's family, Downey's from East Sussex, and have found cousins. It's been really great.

Hi Annette: I have some people in Hazen, Arkansas, Marjorie Rowland, spell there last name different. Her sis Thelma Rowland, bros Lannie Henry Rowland, Faith Rolland, Lannie Rollin.

Now there are some in Mo. I believe in Ms also.
I just read that the Rowland, Rolland, Rollin, Roland are from the Rowland Indians story. or from the Indian Rowland who had something to do with Jamestown in Va. Have you heard.

Michael, the father of Treffle Rollin, may be Joachim Rollin 1850-1912, and his second wife was Madeleine Libersan, I don't know if this helps you or not. I am also looking for Rollin relatives, I would like to know the birth and death dates of my g grandfather, Alexandre Rollin, also of Ste.Cunegonde Parish, Saint Henri, Montreal. I am sorry my grandmother name was ROWLAND. Her people came to Hempstead county ARKANSA. Her mother is buried in Beard/Baird Cemetery There.

Hello. My great grandmother was Ella Rollin. My grandmother was born and/or raised near Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Once she showed me pictures of relatives who were Blackfoot/Blackfeet Indian. My grandmother was Ida Brown and her parents were Sylvester Brown and Ella Rollin. Are you related to this family line? Ida Brown married Theodore Hilson. My ggrandfather's sister Anna McAlonie married a Treffle' Rollin in Montreal in 1911 at St. Cunegondes parish. He was a widower. The marriage document was in French, so I am not sure of his parents names. Have you ever seen a Treffle' Rollin? I would appreciate any help. Thanks.

Looking for any info on Birdie Hummel and family. Birdie Rose Hummel was born in Abilene, Kansas 3/14/1874 to John Wesley Hummel and Rosaline Harney, both born Tuscarawas Co, OH. I have the following info on this family:

She first married Robert Moore, whom I don’t have much info on. According to the marriage certificate of their son Melvin Robert. Robert was born in Colorado. I have his birth date as about 1869. No info on when Robert and Birdie married. She next married unknown. Her third marriage was to Leo Rollin, whom I have absolutely no info for. According to the Record of Funeral sent to me by a new found cousin, Birdie R. Rollin was living in Sacramento, CA (1931).

Melvin first married May Hoyt, daughter of Harry Hoyt born CA and Mary Roldert born MO., on 11/9/1915 in Oakland, Alameda, CA. The marriage certificate states May was 19, native of California and resident of Oakland and Melvin was 21. Their marriage date was 11 Nov 1915. According to Melvin’s funeral record shows his birthday was 28 December 1897 in Montrose, CO , which would make him just turning 18 when he and May married. They weren’t married very long before divorcing, but May became pregnant and on 22 March 1917, Harold Norman Moore was born in San Francisco, CA. May next married Frank Loeffler and Harold went by his stepfather’s last name while growing up. When he went into the army in 1945, his records were changed to Moore.

Melvin next married Edith Francis Hendrickson b 28 Aug 1901and died 1957 in Torrance, CA. I have no marriage date or any other info on Edith. Melvin and Edith had 2 daughters. Don’t know if they are still living or not.

Harold married and had one son and two daughters. He died 18 Feb 1990 in Kenwood, CA.

I am a decendant of the Kennairs who settled in New Orleans area.
My grandfather's parents were a Patrick and Mary , and they came here in the mid-1800's, from Ireland.
My grandfather was born in 1880 and died in 1986. He often talked of lost family members and always wished to find them before he died. His name was Noel Victor Kennair Sr.
Since my father died last year, my brother and his wife have had their first baby and I would like to be able to tell all our children more about their family.
