Ang aking tatay ay taga Loon, Bohol, ang kanyang pangalan ay si Aniceto Peña Romanillos pero patay na sya noong March 4, 2004. Pakitanong nalang sa papa mo kong kilala nya ang tatay ko Anin ang palayaw at may kapatid na lalaki na si Eugenio o si tatay Genio pulis sa Loon sa una ang siya rin ang nagiging kahalili na naging suputurero sa cementyo sa Loon pero patay narin. But at present i am residing in Dasmariñas City, Cavite, Philippines.I'd already heard your name when i was assigned in Cebu, Bohol, Leyte, Dumaguete and Siquijor last 2006. My sister told me about you that you are a Historian graduated in UP and your the one who researhed for the history of the blood compact in Bohol. The name of our late father is Aniceto Peña Romanillos who died last March 4, 2004. Our grandfather Hugo Romanillos according to my father he told us that our ancestors are from Oslod, Cebu, Philippines. My father is from Poblacion, Loon, Bohol. My father has 1 brother Eugenio Peña Romanillos (deceased) 4 sisters Petrona, Inday, Diosdada and Rufina. Hi Rannel,

I've known nothing about where the Romanillos' came from (mexico, spain etc.) all I know is my Lolo (Lazaro Romanillos) was born and raise in Nueva Caceres, Oslob, Cebu. If your parents/grabd parents came from the same place them most probably we are close relatives. Since my lolo died we never in any way had any contact with his relatives, so it would be nice to know and meet other relatives from his side. Tell me more about what you know about the Romanillos' and I'll to dig out more info. from my Mom about my Lolo. Thanks and keep in touch. you can email me directly at james@bawls.ca

Hi Rannel,

I met your Lolo before 15yrs ago. He visited our home in Nueva Caceres, Oslob and even spent few days then. I attended one reunion in Zamboanga last time but I can't remember the exact year. We stayed at Aunty Lily Clamonte's residence that time. I also got a copy of that logo which your Lolo gave us. Yes, we are relatives indeed. I was told that we are descendants of someone from Spain who came to Cebu.

HI, I'm Rannel Romanillos Illustacion,were from zamboanga del sur... i've searching for our ancestors were it came from,, some says from mexico and italy... my Lolo Pres Romanillos resides in the US. He go to paris and find the coat-of-arms,, and he send back it here..now i have that logo. my parents attend Reunion in Oslob Cebu, few years ago... i think we have many Romanillos relatives there....

Its been a long long time that my grandfather passed away for accident in south china sea due to bad weather. Hi James,

I'm from Nueva Caceres, Oslob. My father is Alfredo Romanillos (deceased) and my grandfather is Angel Romanillos (deceased). If your ancestors are from Oslob then we are related. If one day you would visit Oslob, you need to visit 3 baranggays in order to meet all your relatives. Start with Nueva Caceres, Bonbon and Looc. Romanillos has spread like mushrooms here.

I'm Jey-ar Romanillos, 22 yrs old. I am a Certified Public Accountant. I was brought up by my father Juan Romanillos (55 yrs old) in Bacolod city, Son of Magdalino Romanillos (deceased) but they are a native of Dipolog, Zamboanga del norte. My "old man" have told me that they have relatives in Oslob, Cebu City. there are also Romanillos in San Carlos, Negros Occidental.

I hope this could help! wish i will know my ancestral bloodline in the Philippines...

your mom, aunt, and uncles are they still in oslob? how old are they, maybe they know my late grandpa (Lazaro) was born and raised? in Oslob then moved to baybay leyte when he married my grandma. he died in 1969 and was born between 1908 and 1912 not to sure about exact the year, that's all i know about him for now. i can ask more info from mom if you give me more info. about you and your relatives/family, maybe we're related. cheers and thanks. you can email me directly at jrm@bawls.ca

hello janice, yeah pinoy ako...from zamboanga but the eisma family's from la union (my maternal grandfather)... your from where? you can email me at xit2arq@yahoo.com. our family name's German... the story was that a certain german engineer came to the phils around 1800++. our family has the coat-of -arms of the eisma family. Our name was traced back to the German feudal days i think.

so where are you from? age? :o)

Researching the ROMANILLOS surname in all of AMERICA, but specially in MEXICO and the US.

Have knowledge of at least 2 branches in MEXICO: The ROMANILLOS-MAYEN from the North of MEXICO, ca. 1850. Their descendants moved to the US and to VERACRUZ and CHIAPAS. CARLOS and ENRIQUE ROMANILLOS MAYEN are the original bearers of the name, as far as we have been able to discover.

The second line dates from 1939, when two brothers from VALLADOLID, Spain inmigrated to MEXICO after the Spanish Civil War. One of them, SANTIAGO moved to MONTERREY where he raised three children : JAIME, MAGDALENA and LOURDES. The other, ANTONIO, stayed in MEXICO, D.F. and raised two children: CARLOS and SONIA.

Would love to hear from other ROMANILLOS, for I'm convinced we will eventually find a connection.All ROMANILLOS seem to originate in two towns in SPAIN: ROMANILLOS de ATIENZA, GUADALAJARA, and ROMANILLOS de MEDINACELI, SORIA.

hello! i was just browsing the net and i came over this site... im therese romanillos from zamboanga del sur and my grandparents are from oslob. i was happy to discover this site. one of my uncles is now residing in the US for almost 3 decades now and i believe that he's been researching about the family's ancestry... all we hav is a copy of the family's coat-of-arms. if any one of you hav a copy of it, could please send it to me (scanned) because i really want to confirm if mine's authentic.

i am currently studying in the University of the Philippines Diliman taking up architecture.

There are two branches of Romanillos in the Philippines. One branch is found in Oslob, Cebu, whose members migrated to Manila, and to Mindanao, Negros, Bohol islands. Another branch is Naga City in the Bicol region. The Cebu branch seemed to have originated from Spain.

Como te comenté existen aún familares (tios y primos) incluso mi hermano mayor (Luis Alberto), de los cuales podríamos obtener información acerca de la alteración de el apellido.
Creo que por motivos de la inestabilidad en cuanto al registro de poblacion en aquellos años, no se tenía un control exacto en cuanto a las características de cada uno de los habitantes, al parecer un hermano de mi padre fué el que decidió omitir la "s" al final del apellido.
Sería interesante comunicarse con el y con ello conocer acerca del motivo que tuvo para tomar esa desición.
Viajaré a Sinaloa este próximo mes para compartir tiempo con mis familiares en esta Navidad, trataré de comunicarme con mi tío y le comentaré de ti, posteriormente te paso la informacion al respecto.
No olvides mencionarme en tu proximo mensaje acerca de tu familia (tus Abuelos,padres y hermanos).
