Kim what were your great grandfather's children's names? That was my great grandfather's name also. His wife's name was Julia. They had 4 children, 3 boys (Mike, Joseph, and I forgot the other ones name) and my grandmother Gloria. I know when my great grandparents came from Italy they were living in NJ then as the kids got older most of them went to CA. Just wondering if maybe we're related.
My husband and I are traveling to Europe also. Well moving more like it. He's in the AF and we just got orders to Germany. So I'm trying to find out as much as I can about where our families came from so we can make those trips with our 2 daughters. :) Unfortunately there's not much left of my grandmother's immediate family left so I'm kind of stuck. =/ If you can send me a message please! :)

My great-grandmother, Carmela Muscolino Romeo lived with her parents according to the 1930 census with my grandfather and his sister. 3 years later, the local phone directory has her living with her husband, Anthony Romeo. As of 1940, the phone book states that she's widowed. Just wondering if anyone has any information on this Anthony Romeo who may or may not have married Carmela Charlotte Muscolino-Romeo, with 2 children - Nancy and Samuel.

She was married to Antonio Cuomo. Caterina came from Gallico, Reggio Calabria. Her husband Antonio came from Catona, Reggio Calabria. Don't know if either of them came to the USA but, their son Francesco Cuomo did and married Maria Cimato in the USA.Let me know if any of this is familiar to you or your family members. I am travelling to Italy in August of this year and am trying to hard to find out where his family was from. Can anyone tell me how you started your searches? We know he was from Southern Italy in the Calabria area but that is all. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Kimberly

Romeo....The Musician from New York

Seeking relatives, etc. of a former Local 802 Union musician that was just referred to as "ROMEO" by his friends and other musicians. I believe his first name was either, Don or Paul. His family settled in the Bronx, New York back in the 1920's-1930's. ROMEO was a musician who played in the bands during the 1930's thru possibly the 1950's. I believe he played guitar and probably played for the Nick D'Amico Orchestra in the 1940's. This musician was probably born around 1900. I believe he had a nephew named Alfonso who was called, "Funzi." Any information, would be appreciated. Lee Pecoraro e-mail address is, thedoodles6@tx.rr.com

They lived in Campobello di Mazara born 1858. He too had to leave Sicily due to shooting a trespasser on winery grounds and came to NY. How coincidental.Do you know where your gggrandfather came from in Sicily?

Albert Leo Romeo born Mauritius born 1850's

I'm the great-great-granddaughter of ALBERT LEO ROMEO and ELIZABETH MARY EMMERSON. He was born in Mauritius around 1852/3 or thereabouts. His parents are Alfred Romeo and Therese L'Intelligant, they lived in Mauritius also, but don't know if they were born there. ELIZABETH was born in Emerald Hill, Victoria, Australia about 1856.Her father was James Emmerson and her mother was Kate Miller. ALBERT & ELIZABETH married in Sydney NSW Australia in May 1884 and had 3 children THERESE, CATHERINE & ALBERT. Catherine is my mother's father's mother. I would be grateful for any information about Albert Leo Romeo and when/where he arrived in Australia as I can't find him on any passenger listings. I would also be grateful for any info on Kate Miller as I don't know if Miller is her maiden name or if she re-married.

Re: looking for other half of the Romeo family in America.

My grandfather, Rocco Romeo, came from Reggio Calabria. He had a younger brother named Francesco. I was wondering if my grandfather's name came up in your search. Is it possible that we are related?

This is in response to the ROMEO family. I have not been able to find anything about my -g-granddad before coming to America. He was born in France and came to America around 1872. He was first in MS., TX., OK., and into Canada where he and my g-grandmother are buried at. Except for three of the children left here in TX. the remainig family also settled in Canada.

Ann
