My dad is from Naco Sonora but our family was never tight to my grandfather for a reason or another. My fathers brothers are Reynaldo Romo, Francisco Romo, Joe, sisters, Juana, Lupe, Luci, and tia Medri. I live in Gilbert Az now but most of the family came from Naco and Douglas Az. can anyone help? My dad also mentioned that he vaguely remembers his fam saying that they had a lot of fam in Southern Cali or Tijuana. And by the way I have a broher, Lorenzo Romo, and two sisters from this marriage, Karina, and Karla Romo.

Hi, i'm a romo, too. I've been trying to find out about my grandfather Juan Romo but I have very little information to go on. I believe he was from northern Mexico, but not sure. Also, he had at least one brother that he didn't get along with whose name is unknown. Also my grandfather was said to have been very wealthy but I don't know if it was family money or if he was self-made. His wife Josefina Bueno, came to El Paso in 1911 or 1912 and bore my father but Juan Romo had died in Mexcio in 1911 or 1912 while she was pregnant. Hoping maybe you found such a Juan Romo.

Juan Romo born 1800's someplace in Mexico

Hi. Searching for my grandfather. Don't know much and what I do know may just be lore and/or half-truths. He married Josefina Bueno. Josefina came into El Paso, TX alone in 1911 or 1912. She bore my father in El Paso in 1912. Legend says my grandfather, Juan Romo, was a very wealthy man who died youg in about 1911 or 1912, just before my father was born. He was said to have owned, cantinas, hotels, and plantations in Mexico and Costa Rica. Legend also says he was about to be nominated for governor of some state in Mexico. Also, he had a brother - name unknown - who he was very "not close" with. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks.

Re: Marina ROMO de Fimbres

FCA NALLELY FIMBRES SOTO

ReplyReport AbusePrint
Re: Fimbres "El origen de esta "raza"
Raclare Kanal (View posts) Posted: 23 Aug 2003 8:36AM

Classification: Query
Surnames: Suastegui, Moraga, Pompa, Buelna, Lopez de Haro, Canete
Estimado Sr. Rascon

ReplyReport AbusePrint
Re: Fimbres "El origen de esta "raza"
NALLELYFIMBRES (View posts) Posted: 2 Jan 2011 3:47AM

Classification: Query
Surnames:

C. junto a Cayo Mario.

ReplyReport AbusePrint
Re: Fimbres "El origen de esta "raza"
NALLELYFIMBRES (View posts) Posted: 2 Jan 2011 4:12AM

Classification: Query
Surnames:

C. y el siglo I a.

hi, I am also very interested in my ancestry like yourself. I am a romo desendent from aguascalientes, mex. My grandfather is name just like me and his father was pedro romo, predo's father was juan romo, and Juan's father was nabor romo. You might try looking for the first name nabor to find plenty of more Romo decendents because that name has been in my family for decades and has not left the romo lineage. I have being told a story of how my lineage began and so far all the stories conclude that I desend from Nabor Romo, who was the founder of the branch I desent from. I also know that he had five wives and all of them had kids with him, but to my knowledge the last name was not carried becuse of the lack of male desendents and only about 2 or 3 wives did, I myself been from one of them. Please contact me for more information and please, please let me listen or read the reaserch you have encounter and record thus far. Since, I have been dying to know my past ancenstry and lineage as well.

Oh my God, what a surprise!! I have looked for you both as well, many times over the years! What is really strange is that I'm in the midst of moving, last week my daughter and I were looking over my pictures from high school and I was knee-deep in nostalgia.

So, how do we do this without me putting my address on a mssg board? Hey, I'm listed in the WY Alumni directory wyoung.org, if you contact me there it goes directly to my personal in-box and then we can exchange info.

Hope to hear from you soon!

Paulina, this is Anastasia. I just saw Karla last night (after twenty years) and we were reminiscing about you, she couldn't find you but told me she had tried to reach you through this site. I thought I'd give it another shot. I have looked for you as well. Hope you respond. Would be wonderful to get in touch again.

POW/MIA Korean War, ROMO

I am searching for the family of a soldier who was killed in the Korea War. His remains were never recovered. Our government has no family contact at this time for this soldier

Soldier: ANGEL PETER ROMO
Born: 1930
Date of loss: July 11, 1950 POW
Home of Record: Los Angeles, Calif. (Whittier, Calif,)

When the Korean War ended the enemy never returned or accounted for over 8,000 of our servicemen. They died in their hands. That was over 50 years ago. Since that time DNA has been perfected and also they are recovering remains in North Korea. Our government is obligated to return those remains to the proper family. DNA samples have been obtained from most of the families of these missing soldiers. For various reasons some families have not been located.

When the remains are recovered and identified they will be returned to the family for proper burial. I am just an old (79years) Combat Veteran out of the Korean War and thankful that I did return. I consider this a very noble cause and I hope that you can help in some way to find this family. For more information on the project you may go to http://www.jpac.pacom.mil/. My part in the program is to match up the lost families with the proper agency.

I will be grateful for any assistance in locating this family.

Harold Davis
40th Infantry Division
Korea ’52-‘53
910-791-2333
hgdavis@bellsouth.net
Maria Silvestra Romo 1856 Rio Nuevo, Coahuila-1935 Los Angeles, California

I know this is a long shot, but here goes. I'm looking for a picture of my great great grandmother, Maria Silvestra Romo. I'm told there are pictures out there, but I haven't located any.

She was born just after the new year 1856 in Rancho Nuevo, now La Madrid, Coahuila, Mexico.

She immigrated to the United States with her husband Mateo Ramirez around 1875, and had her first and I believe only child, my great grandfather, VictorianoRamirez Romo in Brownsville, Cameron County, Texas in 1876.

I do have pictures of Victoriano, but have not been able to pin down his birth record. I'm told Texas didn't record births until 1903, but I know many birth records predate this date.

But a picture of Maria Silvestra Romo would be my first goal.

I tried Homeland Security, but they didn't have anything on either Maria Silvestra Romo, nor her husband Mateo Ramirez. In those days I don't think you needed formal documents to cross the border.

I even tried the coroner here in Los Angeles where she was killed when she was run over by a low rider while doing her daily 14 stations of the cross, each one at a different church. Yes, she was deeply religious, so I'm told.

And very short and petite, as was her son Victoriano. Although I never met either one, they died before I was born.

Check out my family tree here:

Ramirez Rodriguez Family Tree yDNA R1B1B2
