According to information that I received, I am descended from Ronquillo, Juan. I was in process of entering information to my information on ancestry.com and I was trying to find information on John and Julia Ronquillo Martenez, parents of Ursula Ronquillo Martinez. I want to add her to my information. I tried looking the family up in Stringfeild's book: Le Pays des Fleurs Oranges. I need info. on her grandfather Ronquillo and Martinez. Thanks, Alvin Francis Buras, hometown: Venice, La. Email=alvinfburas@hotmail.com

Benito Ronquillo and Maria Antonia Guerra, these are my great grandparents. Benito and Maria were from Chihuahua, Mexico. Together they had three kids before they split, that would be Monica Ronquillo who is my grandmother, Esther Guerra, who I dont know what but something happened between the two and Maria gave Esther her last name and most likely the same reason they split. Now Monica was older than Esther but I'm not to sure about Laura though all I know is that she died from pneumonia, I think as a baby. Monica was born in East Los Angeles. Not sure about where Esther was born. Monica ended up meeting a Gilbert Aguilar and had my father who she named Gabriel Ronquillo. She gave him her name because when she was five months pregnant she caught him cheating on her and left him. She later met Tito Pichinte from El Salvador who she had two more boys with, John and Andrew Pichinte. Gabriel was born in Artesia, CA. He met Kristy Sawaya and had me, Mathew Ronquillo. But they were only together for about two years after I was born and I stayed with my dad. I want to say about eight or nine years ago he met Deserie (if thays how u spell it) and had my little sister Angelica. But I only got to see her a few times before her mom disappeared with her. Oh yea I was born in Whittier, CA and grew up between Whittier and La Habra, CA. I currently live in La Habra and I am nineteen years old. I have one daughter named Maya Ronquillo who was born in Whittier as well and my girlfriend is now four months pregnant with what we're hoping for is a boy. Their mothers name is Jannette Macias. If you have any more questions my email address is mathewronquillo@gmail.com. I actually would like to learn more about the generations of Ronquillos who were soldiers if you can please send me information on where I can leaen more about them it would be highly appreciated thank you. I am Gabriel Ronquillos and Kristy Sawayas son and Gabriels parents are Monica Ronquillo and And Gilbert Aguilar. But my grandparents broke up when she was only five months pregnant because she caught him cheating on her, so she gave Gabriel her last name.

I think I need to do some research. Does anyone know who the parents were of the nieces of Dona Rosa Kitchen? She and Pete Kitchen adopted them. My understanding is that they are related to the Verdugos, though I read that they were related to the Ronquillos. I do know that Pete Kitchen, and Mr. Ronquillo and Mr. Verdugo wound up brothers-in-law. I am descended from one of the nieces.

The name Ronquillo, orginated in Spain. Came across the Atlantic when Hernan Cortez arrived with his army of conquest to defeat the Aztec and Maya Indian. Among the soldiers which were in said army, were several Ronquillo's. One being Gonzalo De Ronquillo, who after Tenochitlan was captured and the Aztec defeated, was sent to Yucatan to fight the Maya. Subsequently he was sent to Peru to fight the Inca, and then to the Phillippine Islands to colonize and establish trading concessions with the Chinese. Numerous families of Phillipine origin are related to Gonzalo. I have been able to trace by name a relationship to him after the name came north through Mexico into southern United States and Arizona.

Hi, I'm Brielle. I just wanted to add that my grandmothers maiden name was Ronquillo. Her first name was also Maria, however I do not believe she was the one mentioned. But here's a bit about my grandma. I don't know much about her; my father doesn't really either since she died when he was very young, so the information may not be 100 percent correct, but here it is. She was born in 1929 near Manilla. I believe she might have went to an all girls school. She was Roman Catholic (like many of those in the philippeans.) She aparently met a man, and had a child with him, but I don't know the whereabouts of them now, since she gave the child up for adoption, and left the man behind when she met my grandfather, Vincent Hernandez. Together, they moved to the USA where they lived happily, and had my father, John Hernandez. But then she died tragically young 1958 from a brain anuerism. She is buried in St. Joshephs Cemetery in Indiana. I can add more information later, when I have access to her records and such. Thanks for reading and if you think you might be related, please contact me. :)
Hi Junix

I am a descendent of the Ronquillos. My great grandmother is Modesta Ronquillo of Lubao, Pampanga. I was told that she is the eldest of five daughters. Their parents own a rather big hacienda (sugar plantation) at that time (round about 1800s. I understand that there seemed to be quite a relation with Cavite - these two areas - I have ancestry in both areas (Tranquilino and Ronquillo).

Alot of my relations have now imigrated to the States. Would it be possible for you to share with me your research - I would be most appreciative.

Yours truly.

Hello, I am Randy Gonzalo Ronquillo. I am writing because my father Segundo Santos Ronquillo passed away a few years ago but I never got the chance to know his side of the family especially since the majority live in the Philippines and I currently reside in California. I know a few of my fathers siblings, Sator and Maria, also I was told that he lived in Pampanga. If anyone knows these people, I would like to know more about my dads life, thanks.

Please accept my apology for the long delayed response. Due to other obligations, my family research has been on hold for several years. Will try to give you a brief history of my husband's Ronquillo family connection - from memory - all of my files are in storage.

Yes, if you are a descendant of Jesus Ruiz Ronquillo - born in Santa Cruz, Sonora, MX in 1829, you are related to the Redington/Tucson Ronquillo families.

My husband's Ronquillo connection is maternal. His late mother was the daughter of Juana Bonillas Ronquillo & Blas Miranda Valdez. Juana's parents were Jesus Ruiz Ronquillo(2nd marriage) & Placida Leon Bonillas.

Many years ago, there was a Mexican Restaurant, in Nogales, that had a picture of Manuel Ronquillo hanging on the wall. If memory serves me correctly, believe they also had one of his guns & a couple of other things on display. Believe the restaurant (don't remember the name)was located on or near the site of the Pete Kitchen Ranch. I also have a book with that same picture in it.

You can contact me at tiquearia1@aim.com
Hello:
This is a belated reply to your previous posting, but I
thought "what the heck," I might as well give it a shot.
Although I do not have information on "current relatives"
living in Tucson, AZ, I am willing to share what I have on
the Mexican Ronquillos.
My great-great grandfather was Manuel Ronquillo, the same
Manuel who worked for Pete Kitchen on his Stronghold Ranch
in southern Arizona. Manuel was a master musician, and a practiced gunfighter, and raised his Ronquillo family along
with the Kitchens.
Manuel married Jesusa Verdugo, and together they had, among
other children, a daughter, Maria Susana Ronquillo. I am
sooo curious about this woman, my great grandmother. She
was living in Nogales, AZ at the time she met Carlos Almada,
my great grandfather.
Don Carlos came to Arizona from Culiacan, Sinaloa, during the last decade of the 19th century (when the regime of
Porfirio Diaz was firmly in place), most likely looking
for decent work for decent pay.
In Nogales, Carlos and Maria Susana had their first Almada
children, but then sometime in the 1920's moved to Tucson.
Manuel Ronquillo, who may or may not have met Carlos Almada,
worked for a wagon-making company (Tully Ochoa, I think)
but later died on the job when a wagon wheel rolled over his stomach.
Manuel was born in Caborca, Sonora to Jesus Ronquillo and an unknown woman. Augustin Ronquillo was the grandfather.
As you probably know, generations of Ronquillos served as
presidial soldiers in Chihuahua, fighting Apaches and establishing fortifications.
In the Kingdom of Spain, the Ronquillo surname was said to
begin in Aldeaseca, a small village near Arevalo, a major
city in the ancient province of Soria.
Of course, there is a major contingent of Ronquillos in the
Phillipines, and in the American states of Arizona and Louisiana.
I would welcome any information that you may have on the Mexican Ronquillos, especially any information concerning
Maria Susana Ronquillo Almada.
Best Regards,
Peter Almada
