Hi. Sorry didn't answer sooner, but I was not getting the emails from Ancestry. Yes that Udeth and Udeth E. are my brother and nephew. I always asked my mom where she got my name from, because people would asked me. When I sent you that email is when my mother told me the thruth. And like you said it takes two to tango. I just heard yesterday from a brilliant professor that "we need to look to the past to understand the present, and need to look at the present just to move forward in life". I think that my mother, she's already 75 years old, just wants to make ammends with her past. I love my brother dearly, never consider him anything other than my full blown brother. People will ask, for obvious reason, he's white we're dark skin. But we didn't bother giving any explanations, as we didn't care. Teddy, as we call my brother, has a huge family of his own. I would like my mom to know that all is forgiven. She's getting old, and we cannot prevent what time does to an elderly's mind, but before she starts losing her memory I would like her to know that your family somehow had accepted my brother as part of your family. Pedro Hernández married Lucia Rosario.

The only evidence I have of Pedro is that his name mentioned in son's (Bonifacio- my ancestor) Marriage Certificate.

I only have eidence of two sons, one being Bonifacio Hernández Rosario, B: Abt. 1820 in Rio Grande, Puerto Ríco, D: Bef. 1880 in Fajardo, Puerto Ríco, M: Maria Antonia Ramos Cintron, 08 Oct 1878 in Parroquia Santiago Apostol; Fajardo, Puerto Ríco.

Another brother is Luciano Hernández Rosario, which I received from an Ancestry.com contact, but have no info on him either.

For Bonifacio Hernández Rosario, I have all the information on his children and spouseto share. He was born about 1820 in Rio Grande, Puerto Ríco. He died before 1880 in Fajardo, Puerto Ríco. He married Maria Antonia Ramos Cintron on 08 Oct 1878 in Parroquia Santiago Apostol; Fajardo, Puerto Ríco, daughter of Miguel Ramos and Higinia Cintron. She was born about 1840 in Fajardo, Puerto Ríco. She died before 1920.

Looking to find information on his Brother Luciano Hernandez Rosario, any other siblings as well as information on Pedro and Lucia themselves.

My last name is also Rosario and my family is from the Dominican Republic. My dad, Francisco Antonio Rosario-Mercado(born in the capital), my grandfather, Francisco Antonio Rosario-Cruz(born in Santiago), and my great grandfather, Francisco Antonio Rosario-Almonte(born in Puerto Plata). They all served in the Dominican military. And my grand uncle Carlos Teo Rosario-Cruz was a famous boxer in the Dominican Republic. The surname Rosario comes from the latin word "rosarium" which means "rose garden" & is Spanish and Portuguese..maybe mentioning these names to your family members'll help , maybe we're related.

My father was Emiliano Rosario Melendez, from Cayey, P.R.
He was born in 1906 (died 1978). I was born in San Lorenzo. I grew up in The
Bronx.
The actual name is Del Rosario (from the Canary Islands). My
grandfather was Celestino Del Rosario. I have his baptismal record
which I got from the church in San Lorenzo. You may try that route. I have
many lost cousins in The Bronx. I'm sure we are related. The Rosarios came
to P.R. (and to Louisiana) in the 1800s because they knew the
sugar cane industry. Some of my father's brothers/sistes: Crispin, Pablo,
Juan, Pepe, Daisy (who lives in Chicago), and others. Now, you may try through the
LDS church to do some trace. They microfilmed all of the available information. And the
catholic churches kept meticoulous records. I found my mom's relatives that way.
The Munoz de Oneca (came from Cordova in 1793) and the Sanchez de Cos came from Santander, Spain.
Those two families founded the town of San Lorenzo in 1814.
We also have Riveras (another Canary Islander) in our family. The towns of Caguas plays a large
role in the Rosario and Rivera name. Keep me posted and I hope this gives you
an insight. Take care.

By the way, Mayaguez is in the western part of Puerto Rico. Many
of the people have French names due to the whites who fled for their lives from Haiti
when the slaves revolted. We do have Rivera in my familyl. That name too, came the
PR from the Canary Islands. Canary means dog island. I guess they must have had a lot ot
them roaming all over.

Some of those "Islenos" also went to Louisiana in the 1800s because
they knew all about the sugar cane industry. That is why they came to PR also.

My father Udeth Rosario Garcia lived in B'Obrero in Santurce Puerto Rico. Calle 13 #431 Monteflores. He was born in 1932 and his son is Udeth Rosario Garcia. My had an affair with his mom when married to my mom. I don't know the name of Udeth's (the son) mother's name. I know that the mom of son Udeth's husband was in the military when her and my dad had an affair and she lived in Cantera. It takes 2 as they say to have an affair. Children are not to be blamed for the sins of their father's or mother's. We are all older now and have to learn to forgive. If your mom is the mom of Udeth the son, I know that I think if I remember correctly, custody of a daughter was given to the father. I have one sister who was born on April 22, 1955. I was born on March 19,1954. It is weird to see someone with my name too, especially Amara and Enid my middle name which both are not very commom names at all. Udeth the son and grandson who is also named Udeth live in Boston, Massachusetts today. Are they your brother and nephew?
My mother was born in Utuado and grew up in Santurce. Please email me and see if we can help each other solve this mystery. I am married now and last name is Proctor. Amara Enid Rosario

First of all, sorry I forgot to say my name. I'm Mario Pabon Rosario :-). I'm glad you got the message.

I spoke to my mom about having found your postings and she did remember someone in the family marrying a Maysonet. My mother now lives in Orlando, FL. I live in Trujillo Alto, Puerto Rico.

My grandfather (and also godfather) Sandalio passed in the 80's, when I was still a teenager. He had a bunch of children with his first wife Ofelia, many of whom have now passed (in fact, I found your posting trying to find out if my uncle Facundo was still alive). As far as I know, one of the remaining ones (Carmen) lives in Arizona, and there may be a couple living in Puerto Rico and NY. He also had three daughters with my grandmother Paula, of whom only my mother survives. She just turned 69 on Sunday and celebrated her 50th wedding anniversary last month. If we get connected through FB, you'll see the pictures from the anniversary celebration (quite a party).

Keep in touch and we may be able to exchange stories...Sandalio's life was quite interesting..

unfortunetly I don't know what his second last
name was and don't have any information on his
siblings. My grandmother was born in 1907 and
she was the knee baby, her oldest sister
Fransisca was born around 1891 or 93. From what

wow you have alot of the same surnames in my family. ramos rodriguez badillo ortiz chacon lopez perez. I can't see how where not related by at least one of those last names, especially being from the same area of Puerto Rico. I'm going to ask my Mom and Uncles about some of our family in Martinica and when I get that Info I'll get back to you. I wouldn't doubt that we are related though. I currently am living in Martinica in Maleza Alta. I moved here last year. My grandfather and his father and family originally was from the farm field that was taken by the American soldiers in 1939. Though the area is right and the names sounds somewhat familiar I'm afraid I would need more information from you.

I show a Isidro Rosario which happens to be my grandfather's older brother. He had married 3 times and had children with all three. I really don't know much about my family back then, I know my grandmother was from maleza alta and her name was susana "chana" (leyda or leiba) Rosario and her mother was patricia rosario badillo her father was Isidoro (Leyda or Leiba). I know my father Pedro Ramos was born and raised in San Antonio and he has family in Martinica right next to the base. If any of this sounds familiar to you let me know.

I'm glad that you were able to establish a trace to Elvira Rosario and there is no need to appologize. You mentioned that Elvira was the daughter of Teodoro Soto and Cruz Rosario. I have an unknown Soto (female) married to an unknown Badillo that produced 2 children named: Sebastian & Jose Badillo Soto. I have Jose as being born about 1835. In your Soto tree does Teodoro or your grandfather, Felix Rosario Soto, have a sister or aunt or grandmother that could have these two boys in their tree?

It would be great to be able to have names to these unknown family members of mine. Do you have a tree on ancestry.com that I may be able to see for research purposes? Mine is: Rosado/Rosario Family Tree.
