Have you checked this information?

Exactly where is the family in the 1900 Norwegian census? Can you provide a working URL link to that info?

The closest I could find in Norway 1900 was a Selma Dorothea Svenningsen but she is listed as born in 1890 and her father was still alive in 1900.

I figure it's a shot in the dark, but I'm currently trying to find further information on one of my great great grandparents. Her name was Kunnigunda Roth born in 1875 in Bavaria Germany. She married my great great grandfather Frank Krolik in Chicago. She immigrated, through the port of Bremen, to New York and ultimately on to Chicago when she was 17. Per her death certificate, her father was Anthony Roth and mother was unknown.

Any hints or tips to German genealogy would be appreciated. I've exhausted Google to the best of my abilities at this point. Any help would be appreciated.

I am looking for information on Jacob Emanuel Roth. He had two sons, Emanuel Jacob Roth and Alexander Roth and maybe a third (Jacob Roth Jr.) with his wife, who we only know of from a photo and has a possible last name of Fritzler or Fritz. While the brothers Emanuel and Alexander immigrated to the US, the others stayed in Russia. Jacob Emanuel Roth then appears to have married again to a Mary (unknown last name) and had a child with her, Carl Roth. There is no additional information on these Roths. Anything here ring a bell?

Proof of legal representation, direct interest, or written authorization is required if the requestor is not named on the record or an immediate family member.
Uncertified copies or verifications are not provided to the public. They make no provision for those who are doing genealogical research.

I have never tried to use one of the so-called “online services” that purport to provide these documents.
I have a very old photograph of an Ohio Roth relative. On the photo's reverse is written "Mary Reed Fidler. mother of John Fidler. Grandmother of James L. Fidler. Great grandmother of Ella Fidler. Great Great grandmother of Inez Roth" and so on. I know all the Roth genealogy, but am unable to find who Mary Reed Fidler was.

The photo was taken in Fredricksburg, Ohio and could be a copy of a tintype.
Roth married to Joseph Newman

Family lore states that a woman with the last name Roth married Joseph Newman. Her first name might be: Odel, Idel, Adel, or Zeidel. They lived in Hungary and did not come to the United States. They had a daughter, Regina Newman (1869-1964).

Regina Newman is reportedly related to Solomon Roth m. Teresia Neuman and their son, Sigmund Roth (1858 - 1946) married to Lottie Toffler. This connection could be through either the Roth or Newman family.

I know about the descendants of Joseph Newman and of the Roth family above. I would welcome any information about the wife of Joseph Newman whose last name was Roth.

I am seeking information on ancestors of either of the following couples:
1) Joseph Newman m. Odel (Adel?) Roth. They lived in Hungary and are not know to have come to the U.S. Their daughter, Regina Newman, was born in 1869 in Hungary.
2) Solomond Roth m. Theresia Newman. They also lived in Hungary and are not know to have come to the U.S. Their son, Sigmund Roth, was born about 1857 in Hungary.

I have extensive information on the descendants of these couples. I am now trying to figure out how they are related to each other.
Hello I hope you still check the site but I am looking for a J.S.(Joseph) Roth who was born in Russia but listed German as his native tongue. It shows that he immigrated in 1876 when he was about a year old . His wife Barbara was from Kansas but her parents were also Russian who spoke German ( have not been able to find her maiden name ) They had all their children in Kansas Andrew L ( Louis),Anna,John,William,Matilda,Anthony (Anton or Tony),Joseph (Joe),Coletta,Richard,Lenora ,and Isabella. But then they moved to Brighten CO then later to Denver. In 1930 they also had 2 grandaughters with them Barbara Roth age 2 and Dorothy Laney age 9 . Really trying to find more info on all of them but really interested in Coletta Roth who married Robert Bradford Jones ( my grandparents ) they had 3 children that I know of the 3rd was my mother Roberta Lee Jones Thanks Crystal

I wouldn't have thought to search for Zimon[s].

None of the names or places fit into my family that I know of, but will keep them in mind during future research. The furthest back for the Roth/Rodt is Joannes Rodt born about 1665 in Pallien, Kr. Trier, Rhineland, Prussia. His son, Joannes Rodt born in 1692 in Beßlich, Kr. Trier, Rhineland, Prussia.

The descendants seem to stay in Pallien.

There were three younger sisters listed at Rodt for Peter ENDRES & Maria MÜLLER, who d. 1867.

Eddie WEINS recently mentioned that his grandmother had a sister in the Twin Cities, MN.

Hi Steve,
I have several Joseph Roth's in my tribe ....

The brother of my grand-grand-father - his name was Joseph Roth. Born 20th september 1886 (I had a numberscrossing - I thought 1868). I lost his track beginning 1930's - somewhere in the Ruhrgebiet (Germany).

My Grandfather was a Joseph too. But he was born in 1908 - so he was too young.

I will post a thread in the german forum. Cause I can't find more information about my grand-....-grand-father Conrad Roth. Born 1725 - but he has got no parents in the archives .....

I try to find something about your ancestor Joseph Roth ....

Best Regards
Jochen

Frank Roth's son, Joseph, was born About 1867 in Germany, He married Matilda Alef in Detroit, Michigan in 1892. His father, Frank Roth, attended.

Their religion was Roman Catholic.

I have found two possibilities on www.familysearh.org - Bilfingen or Stadtlohn, Germany

Steve

I am researching Joseph Roth born abt 1867 in Germany. He married Mathilda Alef in Detroit on June 9, 1891. The marriage record indicates his father's name was Frank Roth. I am interested in connecting with other Roth researchers with an interest in this family.
