I've got more information on mine now. Henry was the son of William Rotherham of Stepney and St-George-In-The-East, Middlesex. He married an Elizabeth and had about 6 children. I have no parentage for him yet. No luck finding information.

I don't recognize any of the people you mentioned, though they could always be cousins. It doesnt seem that Rotherham was a terribly common name at that time.

Hi
I have just started researching my family tree. My grandmother was a rotherham,(winnifred Irene),b 28/7/1994. She was the daughter of Thomas George Rotherham,b 17/10/1859 who married Alice Taylor, then in (22/12/1906)florence mary dawkins b 14/1/1877.
Thomas was the son of Thomas Rotherham snr(my great grandfather) who was shipwrecked and died in 1880 on the ss Ellmore).
Thomas rotherham snr was the son of Geoge, who had a brother named John who it says married an Isabella Henderson of (Banff?)(no children listed on my stuff)
Their father was george rotherham who was the son of Thomas george rotherham.
I dont know much about this history searching stuff, but my family live in Harrow weald, middlesex, england, which is just west of London..
My father Derek foreman(winnifreds son emmigarated to australia in 1956, I live in Bega NSW and can be contacted on laf572@uow.edu.au if any of this is useful to you.
Regards
Lynette Foreman
0425 278855 (phone)
I just started researching a new line. the oldest I have so far is Henry Rotherham b abt 1843 in Middlesex or London I believe.

He married Cordelia Elliott Bet. Oct - Nov 1866 in Stepney, England.

their first child Elizabeth was born St. George East, Middlesex, England

they then moved to Kent and had at least 9 more children, Henry, Thomas, Cordelia, Emily, William S, Hannah, James, Winifred and Arthur.

Winifred definetly and possibly at least Arthur and James also moved to Massachusetts, USA. Winifred married Frank Crowley and it's through that union that i'm searching back from.

Does anyone here sound familiar to anyone? I'd like to find if any other are researching anyone connected with this family.

(I've requested a census lookup for both Henry and Cordelia, the parents, so hopefully i will have another generation soon.

My gr-gr-grandparents were also from Louisiana. I've recently found another relative also doing Rotherham family research, and she has quite a bit. My gr-gr-grandparents were Henry and Julia Rotherham, they had seventeen children. Henry died in Louisiana, and Julia and part of her children moved to Iowa, Nebraska and Colorado.

ROTHERAM family Sheffield/Derbyshire England

I am researching my late Father George Rotheram's Family History. I would be grateful if anyone could help me with some of the churches and indexes I require to find further information. My Father lived at 79 Lichfield Road, Arbourthorne, Sheffield with his 10? brothers and sisters...I have details. The family had I think lived there for quite a number of years, certainly from my Fathers youth. My family had interests in the Oddfellows Inn at Duke Street Frederick Sr, he was landlord there for 48 years, his obituary was in the Sheffield Telegraph & Star on 26th/27th September 1899. FrederickJr & Sarah Ann Rotheram were living at the New Inn Sheffield. Frederick dies at the age of 33 at 183 Duke Street according to the City Road records. A John Rotheram paid rent for Slitting Mill Farm in 1830 .Dobholm Farm was rented to a Mary Rotheram possibly a sister. This farm passed to her son in 1837. John's rent was paid to the Sitwell Estate..not as a montary transaction but in kind from the farm.

Jan Rotheram Perkins

Pat
Thank you so much for contacting me. I'm sorry to hear you can't make it to the reunion. It sounds like it's going to be a big one (they are expecting 300 people). If your son has it on the computer it would be great if he could e-mail it to me at stevensa@sc.dmjm.com. Thanks so much for your help.
Ann Rotherham Stevens
