I am Edward's granddaughter. Edward and William were brothers, their parents were Henry Edward Rowlands and Ann Jane Bratt, both born in England as was my GF. The rest of their children were born in WV in the USA.

Hello,

This enquiry is really a shot in the dark. I'm searching for Richard Rowlands born abt. 1789. The 1851 Census has him and his family living in Birmingham. It also states that he was born in Cardiganshire. At this stage of my researches I have no idea of the names of his parents. I believe his wife was named Elizabeth Williams. Can anyone tell me please if they have come across this name with this birth date?

Tom Rowlands lived in Chelford Road in the 1960's then he went into the Merchant Navy for a while around 1966 or 1967. Tom Rowlands was born 7/10/1948.

Allan Rowlands may have used tom as a first name also.He would be maybe early 60,s now as of 2011.Manchester and Sale in Cheshire. Anyone who met him or knew him well would know this person. He would have mentioned Manchester United and how he knew George Best and many united players of the late 1960 and 1970 , s. He may have started life as a cook or chef and may have said he was in the merchant navy in the 1970's, don't know if this is true though. He has said he played with these united players as a junior or youth team in the 60's but they let him go, don;t know if this is true either. Someone may have known him in Manchester failsworth also.

Any info on an Allan Thomas Rowlands or sometimes known as tom rowlands. Born maybe between1945 and 1950 ish. So would be in his 60,s now. Lived for a time or could be from I think Sale Cheshire. He may have worked as a chef in the late 60,s early 70,s in Manchester. Talked about being in the merchant navy. Talked about knowing the Manchester United players of the time, george best, kidd and others.
Distant relative we think but semms to have fell of the earth for some reason.

I have just learned that William J. Rowlands and Amelia Wells were married Dec. 25, 1883 in Lambeth, Surrey and they had a child Catherine Louise born 1887. William is the brother of my g grandmother Mary Rowlands born 1851 in Montgomeryshire Wales. It's been awhile to sort out the Rowlands family tree but I'm slowly getting there.

I'm not sure if we're related, but I am sure Richard is a brother to my great great grandfather. I have not seen the graves of Richard and Ellen in Fairchild, but maybe one day we can discover if they are buried there.

William J Rowlands born 1857 in Llandisilio Montgomeryshire, Elizabeth Rowlands born 1860 in Llandisilio Montgomeryshire was married to John Davies and Edward Rowlands born 1862 in Llandisilio Montgomeryshire.
I hope I may find more ancestral links to this family.

Thank`s for the email my name is William Thomas Michael Edwards i go by Mike, my mother was Ruth Rowlands she had five sisters and one brother.Her father was Daniel Rowlands and her mother was Margaret Woods, i havent found any info about her but my grandfather was born in 1/5/1889 he was married in 1920, and died on 19/3/1972.His aife died on 5/9/1963 they lived in Llanllechid. My grandad had tow brothers and one sister they were Edward(ted),born in 1890/91,Margaret bornon 1893, and Messach born in 1899, he was killed in the first world war on the 20/1/1916 he is buried in Merville France.his army unit 17th (2nd N, Wales) battalion Royal Welch Fusiliers.My grandad Daniel his father was also a Daniel he was born in 1865 in Llanddaniel Fab, married in 1886 his wife was Mary Williams born in about 1869. My 2x grt grandfather also a Daniel Rowlands born in about 1820 in Llanddaniel Fab, his wife was Ellen Jones born in 1842,they were married in 1861, they had three sons and two daughters, they were Daniel b 1865, David b 1868, William b 1872, Elizabeth b 1871, Ellen b 1878,they were all born in Llanddaniel Fab except David he was born in Llayaed. From the information in your thread. You share the same ancestors as my Husband. He too is decended from Daniel Rowlands born 1888 who married Margaret Woods. Daniel's parents were Daniel born 1865 and Mary Williams.
If so, your mother was my Father in Law's Aunt.

Searching for origin of John Rowland/s b about 1845 in Perth.
Parents William Rowland/s & Margaret. Unable to find any WA matches to date.
First evidence of John is in NE Victoria in 1872 where he married Elizabeth THOMAS at Wangaratta.
Would love to hear from anyone with any information about John's birth and arrival in Victoria.

My g-father was Benjamin Rowlands,hawker,His father was David Rowlands,hawker,And his g-father was David Rowlands who was born in Holywell Flint.
From Flint they went to S WALES.
Then Corwen,Portmadoc,Anglsey and ended their day's at Bangor.
They were all HAWKERS.

Hi my Welsh cousin is helping me with my tree,Idont know the areas and i dont speak Welsh.She did mention being related to the last man hanged.You should be aware that people did not move 2 far from where they were born,we have discovered that a lot of our Rowland ancestors married 1st cousins.There were 2 Rowland families in Anglesey and some of them married into the Rowlands from Bangor area(Hawkers)by trade.I have lots of them in my tree but u would have 2 view it because it gets very confusing.Good luck

There were two large Rowlands families on Anglesey at about the same time, so you would need to be careful which you one is which during your research as it is sometimes easy to mix up the two...to my cost....

You can check out my family tree the majority of which originates from a family bible originating with William Rowlands (born 1834 and died 21 Jan 1907) in Gwyndy Bach, Llandreugan, Anglesey who married Ann Owen (born 1830 died 1910) Let me know if I can help you at all.

Did you have any luck finding any information regarding Rowlands in the Hayes area? My father's last name is Rowlands and he is from that area. His name is Art and he was born in the early to mid forties. However, he chose to not be in my life since I was about 6. If you can give me any information, I would greatly appriciate it. I have not really looked that deely into my family tree and so I am still trying to work out where you sit! My father, also Bradney still lives in Towyn, or Tywyn as it's now spelt. Brian and Derek are alive and well and still live in Tywyn. I was aware that my great-grandfather, Thomas travelled to America with his brothers. It is my understanding that there are at least two Rowlands families from Towyn but it does appear that we are related.

Just started researching husband's family tree so no certificates etc as yet. As there are so many Anglesey Rowlands's I was hoping to connect with someone so i don't go off on the wrong track! My husband's grandfather, William Rowlands, was born in Holyhead in c.1895 one of 7 children (John, Elizabeth,Grace, Robert, Catherine and Emily.)
His father was also born in Holyhead c. 1867. He was married to Elizabeth,born c. 1869 listed on censuses as coming from LLanfechell.
Is there anyone out there with this connection?

This is a real long shot. My grandfather was William Henry Rowlands.He was born in Birmingham and had two Uncles Jacob and Joseph. His father was also William. BUT origianally they came from Wales. Now I remember an Aunty Win who was a cousin to William(Grandpa). I think she had a daughter Gwen and theres a photo of them with a little blond boy who is Williams son, you guessed it wee William. Now either Win or Gwen came out to Australia at some time and stayed with Daisy and Will, in Adelaide. But I think they didnt like Australia and went back to England. Who knows could be a connection.

Have a great great grandmother named Hannah Corfield. Married George Rooke. Eldest child Edward James was my great grandfather, father to Daisy Elizabeth Rowlands nee Rooke. All came from Birmingham england. George was a jeweller and Hannah was a mechanical tree maker whatever that is.
