Death of Mr. Albert Rube in Brazil

Anyone interested in a copy of the U.S. Department of State's "Report of the Death of an American Citizen" for Mr. Albert Rube, please contact me so I can conduct research to locate the record. Mr. Rube died in Brazil on January 29, 1911.

George Rube / Baden Germany

I am looking for any information on George Rube (age 39 in 1870) who immigrated to Galveston, Texas around 1850-1860 from the Baden region. He may have been accompanied by his wife Katie(age 33 in the 1870 US census) and his mother Katie (age 60 in the 1870 US census). The Rube name had symbol over the letter "U" on the census. There were also 4 childern born in Texas by 1870, Charles F.(12), Mary (8), George (6) and Katie (2).

Looking for any info on a Leabolt Rube who married a Maryjane Shortsleeve in the NY area around the 1880's They had 1 daughter, Julia Veronica b.9-3-1890 & d. 2-15-1970. Julia married an Albert Belcher & they lived in the Watertown NY area for a while in the early years of their marriage. Then they moved to the Troy NY area where they remained the rest of their lives. They had several children (at least 13) all gone noe but 3. Any info would be extremely appreciated. Thanks

I have some information. Have not worked on family history in years, but should. Not real sure of middle name, is either A or R. 1900 census, newton county, Beat 4, sheet Number 15, indicates a John A or R Rube, wife C.R. and list children, which confirms he is my great grandfather, Indicates he was born in Maryland, His father born in England, his mother born in PA. If you have a fax number, I will send it to you. I have some information on children of John, wives, and children.

I would love to work with you on this! I have the Belcher history back as far as 1820, but the trail went cold when I got to England. I have some guesses based on approximate dates, etc. but nothing concrete as of yet. You can email me directly at TMAN0064@aol.com or call me at 717-232-2414. I live in Harrisburg PA, but come to Albany frequently to see my mom. Perhaps we can get together and compare notes. I believe this is my family although I have yet to reach the Iraggi branch. My family is from Polizzi Generosa, Sicily and we have extensive information on the following family names: Rubé, Pasta, Migliore, Bongiorno, Ferraro, Placa, Dolce, DiMartino. Other names associated with this family are Siragusa, Lunetta, Giambra, Rannazzisi, David, D'Amico, Cascio, Panzica.

thru ellis island in 1903. Could there be any connection. I notice that you use an accent on the name as we do. most are just rube. would love to hear from you...nancy

Our Antonino came through Ellis Island in 1908 and 1912. That is what I have been able to find so far. Also his wifes maiden name was Grisafi not Pecoraro as we first thought.

The Rubes in the south came from John A. Rube and none of his children had a child named Angela Rube.

I have the following info.
My "Eli" Rube married a helen Gould August 18, 1916 was the son of John A. [or] R. Rube B.6-18-1845 D. 5-15-1902 is buried @ Pine Ridge Cemetery near Lake, Miss. Eli, mother was Rebecca McSweeney or McSwinney B. 3-15-1851 D. 7-12-16. Other than Eli they had [7] grown boys [1] girl.
This is all the famibly information I have.
One piece of info says they had no children.
If you are from MS, AL or LA I am realitively sure we are related.

I have always thought John's middle name was Albert, however I have gone through of mother's papers. She has information from a source that has his name John R. Rube.
His wife was Christianna Rube.
Mother her relatives wanted to be Irish so they said they were Irish.
The name Rube is a German name. I do not beleive John was born in Ireland.
