Searching for the parents of Sarah Ann Ruston born in Charlotte, Vermont. Listed as an adopted child. Sarah Ann's maiden name listed at the time of marriage was either Zubar or Rubert. She married Abraham Ploof on May 17,1858.

I am descended from Florence Amelia Rheubart Stanley. Census puts her in Clinton/Greene County, Ohio in late 1800 to early 1900. Descended from John Rheubart and Jane Wilson. I believe the family came from NJ but would like any information. Karen

Have history on Ruberts back to French&Indian war but not in europe. have tied most of current US Ruberts to one 14 year old boytaken from his parents in Germanytofight inthe HessianArmy in the F & I war.

Wow, thank you for responding. Yeah, any information on the Rubert family would be awesome. I've only heard a few stories of George A. boys bringing horses over the cascades to sell to the military and or racing horses around county fairs. Not sure if true though. I don't think it was Christopher B. Rubert Sr. (wife, Mary "Polly") who served in the Civil War. He was too old. It was probably the son, Christopher Brown Rubert, Jr. that you folks are discussing.

Do you have further information on Christopher B. Rubert and Mary/Polly? Such as dates or birth place or when they were married. I can't seem to get past Christopher Brown Rubert and Rebecca Clark. Christopher Brown Rubert is my Great x3 grandfather.

I am stuck on Isaic Rubert, b. 1761 in Virginia (Hampshire County?) and died 1841 in Champaign Co, Ohio.

I am descended through his son, William Andrew who used the spelling Rubart.

Isaic is probably a brother of Samuel and Martha.

Isaic passed through Mason County, Kentucky on his way from Virginia to Ohio. (about 1792-1797)

Sorry, I wouldn't be much of help to you. I just read your information you shared with Audry. She and I have spoke in the past. As far as I'm concerned our dead end was with ISaac Rhubert. But I'm sure our Rhuberts are connected somehow. I read in one of e-book few years ago of a Rhubert sent to war. It mentioned the town he and the group of men were from so I wasn't sure if that was our Isaac's father or what. It's tough to say! :) I wish more people would be interested in family tree and share all the informations they have. Best of luck. Renee

Thanks for replying,My Great Grandmother was Flora
Etta Rubert Skank she was my Dads Mothers sister.
She was married to Albert Burton Skank she was born Oct.
10-1860 and died nov. 25-1923 is buried at Rose center
cemetery in Holly Michigan. This is were I dead end.
I need names of her sibblings and her fathers siblings
Ect. If you can help me I would really apreceate it.
My dad is 88 and trying to finish his family tree. he

I do not see a Horace Rubert in my family tree. Do you know his parents' names and how far can you go on a Rubert family in your family tree? I am looking for a connection with Rubert family. I can't find Jacob Isaac Rubert's whereabouts before he was born in about 1823. I have hit a brick wall there with him. Any new information probably would be helpful. Thanks

Horace Charles Rubert, Sr. was born on Sep. 15, 1872 in Flat Rock (Seneca Co.), OH. As of 1922, he was living in Topeka, KS. On Sep. 6, 1922, he joined the Sons of the American Revolution, on behalf of the service of his Revolutionary War ancestor, Mthias [Michael] Schock.

Horace Rubert, Sr. is reported to have died on Sep. 18, 1953.

I am seeking his death place and a copy of his obituary.

I also would defintely have let you know if I found something so that you could add the new information to your website. I pray that you will find new information. My husband, Dave, is the grandson of Loral May Rubert b 1889 Tipton Co., IN and of the Tipton Co., IN and Madison Co., IN group. Loral, dau/o William Luther Rubert and Sarah Frances Smith; gdau/o Isaac Jacob Rheubart/Rheubert/Rubert and Sarah "Sally" Clymer. Your ancestor was brother of Wm. Luther Rubert. We have John A./H. Rubert as marrying 1875 to Laura H. with unknown surname. Would love to learn more about your family line. Do you happen to know who the parents of Isaac Jacob were?

They both grew up around Tipton, Indiana. It doesn't sound like my family have any connection to yours, although I do wish you beat of luck in your continuing search.

My mother, Helen Rubert was from Phillipsburg, NJ. Her father was Jess Harold Rubert son of Amelia Pyatt Rubert and William J. Rubert. His father was born 7/28/1862. Amelia was born 10/10/1860 and died in 1897. He had two sisters Maude and Mertie. I have picture of both of them and of their parents.

Christopher B. Rubert married Mary/Polly and fought in the Civil War. His son Christopher Brown Rubert married Rebecca Clark and later followed his son George to Washington state. George Albert Rubert married Rocinda Cheney.

Where did they go after 1880 ? Who were the ancestors of Herman Rubert. Herman was born abt 1846, his wife Mary (Hans) b; 9 Dec 1855 in Illinois. Henry Hans was Mary's brother who was born 27 Feb 1857 in Iowa. Henry & Mary's parents were Fred Hans (1822-1889) & Louisa Lintlaw who died in 1857 in Franklin, Bremer Co, Iowa. Where are the two oldest children of Fred & Louisa. Lewis was born abt 1848 and Sophia abt 1851, both in New York.

Yes, I believe it is correct that John is from New Jersey. Since I posted my query, I found a letter from another Rubert descendant in the files of the Clinton County Historical Society in Wilmington, Ohio. According to the letter, Elizabeth and John are indeed siblings, children of a Barzilla Rubert, who I found in an early Clermont County, Ohio census. Barzilla's occupation was as a merchant. I do not have my notes handy, but wanted to reply as it may be awhile before I can get back to this. According to the letter, oral family history says Barzilla was the son of another John who fought in the Rev. War, but there is no documentation to prove the link. Before they were in New Jersey, the Ruberts were said to be from Nova Scotia. They were seamen and also glass blowers. My guess is that originally the Ruberts were Palatine immigrants.

Thank you for any information about the Ruberts. Mertie would have been my husband's grandmother. She had my father-in-law about the turn of the century around 1903 or 2004 I believe. The father of the baby was not married to her. They were from New Jersey. She gave the baby up for adoption to Laura and Edward Miller. I would like to know what happened to her. Thank you

My father was Milton Thomas Rubert, son of Charles LeRoy Rubert and Grace Margaret Wallace, son of Joseph Bertie Rubert and Leora Forrest Crites, son of John Rubert Jr. and Rachel Jane Hughes, son of John Rubert and Magdalena Chat. That is as far as I have been able to go. If you have any more information, please contact me.

I believe John and Jane Rheubert are the parents of Florence Amelia Rheubert Stanley. She is also buried in the cemetery at New Burlington. The only other thing I know about John is that he is from New Jersey. This I found on Florence's death certificate.
