Hi Jerry, I saw your post on rootsweb concerning your family from Santa Barbara. I was recently advised by FamilyTree DNA Project that I have a direct connection to Maria Rosa Monreal Lopez, wife of Efigeno Ruiz 1 of the founding Families of Santa Barbara. My question to you is do you have any contacts in the USA or Sinaloa,Mexico that might know the following individuals? I searching for my Mother's long lost family from El Fuerte and Los Mochis,Sin.
My Grandmother: JUANA FLORENTINA VALENZUELA born cerca
1886 in El Fuerte or Agua Caliente.
My Mother: MARIA ALVARADO OR MARIA GALVAN born
March 16th,1904 in Los Mochis,Sin.
My Uncle: JUAN JOSE VALENZUELA OR GALVAN
b1906 in Los Mochis,Sin.
My Grandfather: Francisco Gomez Millan or RAFAEL
MANUEL ALVARADO OR MARTINEZ.
MY STEP-GRANDMOTHER: ROSARIO BAZAVILVAZO no info on her.
I believe we hava a connection my Grandmother, her family surnames are: RUIZ, LOPEZ, VALENZUELA, GALVAN, BRIONES, ORTEGA, YBARRA, CARRILLO AND LEYVA. My Mother died in 1979 and we were never able to contact her family, they seem to have disappeared. If you have any records or know of anyone that does, would they please check and see if any of the above are listed. I almost forgot my Mother immigrated to the USA around 1917-20, she first lived in Lake Elsinore,Riverside Co and died in San Juan Capistrano,Ca.
Thanks for any help Ed Romero Stanton,Ca

I am seeking names and vital dates about the descendants of Clara Myrtle CHUBB, b. 10 June 1871 in Des Moines, Jackson Co., Minnesota and d. (unknown) She married Robert L YOUNG on 2 April 1890 in Orange Co., CA, and they produced five children: Floyd D., Roscoe L., Alta Juanita, Violet and Anna Aloha.

I followed Clara Myrtle and her family from MN to CA, to OR in 1920 and back to Orange CA by 1930 with their youngest daughter, Anna. I think some of her descendants might live in the Las Vegas, NV area but do not know their names.

I have information about all of Clara Myrtle CHUBB's ancestors (Father: James Dillon Chubb, Mother: Hannah Amy Griggs) and would be willing to share this information with others interested in these lines.

Clara Myrtle was my grandmother's aunt.

Death of Jose P. Ruiz - 1900

Article appears in The Weekly Examiner, Thursday, 7 June 1900

FOR MURDERING A BOY

Jose Ruiz Expiates His Crime on the Scaffold at Albuquerque

Albuquerque (New Mexico) June 1 - This morning Jose P. Ruiz, twenty-three years of age, was hanged for the murder of Patricio Bannon, a five year old boy, in this city, on May 27, 1898.

Ruiz showed signs of weakening several weeks ago and fears were entertained that he would collapse at the time of the execution, but this was not the case. He appeared the least affected of any person in the crowed of 100 spectators and walked calmly to his doom. No man ever faced death more stoicly than did Ruiz. When he mounted the gallows he was given the privilege of addressing the crowd. He spoke briefly in Spanish, which was interpreted by Nestor Montoya, as follows:

Gentlemen: Beware of drink. It has brought me to this scaffold. Father of families, train your children properly and teach them to respect every one and for the love of God keep them away from liquor for this is the cause of ruin. Now, friends, in these, my last moments, I ask you for the love of God to pray for my soul.

After the black cap was adjusted he was heard to say in a low tone"Adios," and the trap was sprung.

It may be another person entirely, but one of the Regents of the UC system is named Frederick Ruiz, goes by the name of Fred. From his picture, it's hard to tell how old (white hair), but he might be too young to be the person you want..maybe the son of that person? He runs Ruiz Foods (El Monterey) and was appointed by Arnold as a Regent. If he's your lost relative, then good luck.

Jesus Ruiz- Pitiquito Sonora MX to Jerome Arizona

Hello. I am researching my father-in-laws family.
His name is Albert Madrid. His mother was Jesus (Jesusita) Maria Ruiz born August 9, 1889 in Mexico. She married Mariano Madrid in 1919 in Verde, Arizona. They only had one child together- Albert.
Prior to that, she had a daughter, Alicia Teyechea in 1913, from Modesto Teyechea and possibly a daughter Marie Teyechea in 1911 (family has no knowledge of Marie- I found it in the 1920 Census papers).

Jesus Maria Ruiz's parents

Anthony Ruiz
Maria Lena Espinoza

Again, Jesus is a female. Her married name at her death was Jesus Ruiz Madrid. She was born in Mexico and immigrated to Arizona in 1911. She lived in Jerome Arizona with her husband Mariano.

Please contact me with any information. My father-in-law was the youngest child and very little family history was ever shared.
cathryn.madrid@yahoo.com
