I am also trying to find out more about the Runte family of Stephenson County, Illinois. My great-grandmother was Martha L Runte, born 1867 in Stephenson County, parents Simon Friedrich Runte and Wilhelmina Elizabeth Schroder.
Martha married Daniel Phillip Becker in 1894 in Stephenson, then moved to Cass County, Atlantic, Iowa where they farmed and descendents lived until a few years ago.
Am finding little info on Simon Runte except other family trees say he married Wilhelmina in Germany and immigrated to the US. I find record of a younger Simon Runte, born 1856 or 1857, which might be Martha's older brother. Any info is appreciated.

I have lots. How are you related? Joseph Sr was b.1868 in Phila.He married Frances Schnell b.1871. they had 6 children. Frances died in 1939, I believe, and Joseph was still living. You can e-mail me for all the info I have at deepanne1@yahoo.com

I have that he died in PA before 1930 and his child was in the military for a time, and in CA. I was interested death date and information on his parents. Do you have any of this info.

Your Joseph Runte might be my Great Uncle. He was in the service his whole life, so I don't have his wife's name to be sure. If it is him, then he would be the oldest child of Joseph and Frances Runte.Do you know if he was stationed in Cal?

I am looking for information on Joseph Runte from Philiadelphia that Married Julia Kolbe b. 1895, had one child also named Joseph Runte.(both deceased) I believe the marriage would be in the early 1920s.

Any info appreciated. needed for family tree.

I am trying to locate the name of my great-great grandfather and great-great grandmother. My great grandfather, Charles William Runte, married his wife, Bertha Vietmeier in Stephenson County in 1883. His sister's name was Martha. My grandmother, Laura H. Runte, was born around Forreston, IL. If anyone has any information, please advise. Charles was born in 1859. His father came from Germany.

John L. KESTNER born Dec 1865 in Illinois & died Aug 2, 1935 in Illinois. He married Amelia RUNTE on Oct. 11, 1887 in Adams County, Illinois. She was born March 1866 in IL and died 1854. Children: Frank A. (married HANKE), Freddie H., Omer V.( married ZEIGER), Rosa E.( married PADGETT), Hazel M.(married JOHNSON)

I just recently found out I have Runte cousins that live in Milwaukee. My great Grandmother was Teckla Helen Runte. She had to sisters Mae and Rose.

A Luise Elizabeth Koellermeier (B.1808) married a Johann Frederick Karl Hasselmann in 1832. They were from the Schwalenberg, Lippe, Germany area. They had a son that immigrated to the Freeport, IL, area. Anyway, Luise's mother was an Amalie Runte, or possibly Runten, who married a Friedrich Koellermeier in about 1806. I'm at a dead-end on Amalie, so if you ever make the connection with your own search, I'd appreciate your info. But you might want to target some of your efforts to the Schwalenberg, Lippe, Germany area. Good luck.
