Ok, I've very little to go on here.

My mother, Marian was born 2 Apr 1940 and until recently I always thought her maiden name was "Hirst". However, it turns out Hirst was a later marriage of my grandmother and the name was used.

I know that Charles Rushworth is my actual biological grandfather ( with my grandmother being Marjorie May Needham born 1917)

I know that Charles Rushworth went off to World War II and survived - but he came back a very changed man - so changed in fact that he could not live with my grandmother.

So I'm looking for someone with this name who was born before or around 1917 , was either in Leeds, Pudsey or Beverley areas in 1939 and died sometime after 1945.

Told you this was a bit vague...

Re: Rushworth

Winona,

Frederick William Rushworth was also my grandfather. The girls were Winnifred (married Bart), Dolly ( as we knew her anyways - married Russel Warner), and Maisey(McCallum). My father is Frederick Hubert Rushworth.

I do have at least one photgraph of dad and his sisters as well as a few of Frederick and Emily.

Yes, he was a painter. Dad has pages from a correspondance (sp) course his dad took and at least one of his paintings.

I have to look up some other sources but by my dad's recollection Frederick and Emily split up about 1918-1920.

Frederick remarried at some time to a lady named Lola. He had a stepdaughter Margarette Smith listed on his mass card. They were living in Toledo at the time of his death Dec 1, 1957. I have a copy of the mass card and will review it for more information.

He also had a brother Richard B Rushworth who was listed as living in Victoria British Columbia Canada. I seem to recall my dad told me Richard was living in Calgary Alberta in the early 50's but he had moved.

Emily and Frederick farmed in Upsula (near Thunder Bay / formerly the twin cities of Port Author/Fort William) Ontario when they split. Emily remarried Bob Everitt.

I know the photographer had a studio in Wilmington at this time, but I don't know who he was.
I have names from a compilation of Wilmington photographers in the period I am researching. If anybody is related to and knows whether or not this photographer worked for a railroad this will be a great start.
Thanks in advance. Andrew Daneman

I have a Frederick Rushworth on my tree, born circa 1855. He was from Yorkshire, England. I have information on his parents but nothing on marriage and children. terstamp@aol.com

Mary Alice Rushworth marriage records

I have jpgs of the marriage record of Joseph Radcliffe and Mary Alice Rushworth (Sers by first marriage) in Grundy County, Illinois.

Mary is listed as being the daughter of William Rushworth and Emma Davis.

I am not related to these families, they were on a copy of a record that I obtained while doing research on my family.

If anyone would like a copy of these jpgs please contact me.

Do you have any more information on Frederick Rushworth? My great-grandfather was Frederick Rushworth, he was married to a Emily Humphries Rawlings in England. They then came to Canada in 1903, their first dauther was born in Pipestone, Manitoba in 1904. Second dauther born 1905 also in Manitoba, third daughter was born 1907 in Mission City, British Columbia. Their son Frederick Rushworth II was born 1913 in Alberta. The family eventually settled in Ontario. Frederick and Emily divorded, I don't when. He was a painter, he also worked as a cook on ships plying the Great Lakes, and eventually settled in Cleveland. I don't know if he ever conducted music though.

Frederick Rushworth was the conductor of the Edmonton Alberta Symphony in 1929-30. Believe to have then gone back to the UK. Any Information would be great. Holden might be his mothers maiden name.
