Hi

This Abraham is the brother of my relative Henry Rust who was born in 1830/1831. Abraham was orginally married to Elizabeth (1846 Cam, Cornwall). Their children were Harry (1876 Calcutta) Lucy (1877 Liverpool) Norah Louisa (1882 Dunkerque) Charlie Ernest (1884 Dunkerque) Mary (1887 Dunkerque). He married his second wife Rose Hannah in 1903 and they had two more children Dorothy Ann (1904 Sundon Bedfordshire) and Jane (1905 Sundon)

If anyone has any details about their parents I would be very interested

Very interesting. My GGgrandfather was named Mason after his mother Sarah(Sally) Mason. Do you have any clues where your Mason came from? Maybe the same line? There were several Masons who were named that after my Mason. My tree is under crustmooney. Carol Rust Mooney

Thank you for your interest in Mason Rust. Unfortunately it is not the same Mason Rust. My Mason W. Rust was married twice, and was residing in central Florida.

I am sorry I did not answer, but somehow I missed your quiery on the Rust family. I dot know of any being in New York. Most of my line came through Virginia, Kentucky then Missouri, There was another Rust family whow came by way ofmore northern states. Can't remember which state. Would love to see your tree. Yes, we are third cousins, also. Our side of the family also had a Raymond, my mothers generation, and a Ray Dean in my generation. It seams thar once a name got started in the family it just goes on, and on, and on. I tried to open the Faust tree. Let me know if I succeded.

I do not believe any of the Rusts in my tree were ever in SA and mine I am certain were mostly british, but not 100% sure. Wnen in Germany a few years ago I did search the phone book and Rust is very prom. there. Good luck in your search.

Thanks for responding. Yes, Gaye is my third cousin , so hope we can determine what you are trying to find out. You may also be my third cousin. I have not looked at your tree as yet, but will. I also have a nephew named Raymond Rust, the son of my brother, John. My father is also a Raymond Rust. My line is thru Charles G. Rust and yours and Gaye are from William who was a brother of Charles. William moved to Kansas and Charles remained in Missouri. Have you looked at my tree? Francis Joseph RUST b Germany 13 Oct 1825

I am researching my Rust family tree in South Africa and Germany. Francis Joseph Rust came to South Africa with the German British Legion in 1857 and received land near Stutterheim, Cape, South Africa. He died in Komgha, Cape, South Africa on 4.2.1891. S.O. Adam Rust and Beatrice. His wifes name was Bethia Jane Clark b. 16 May 1840 Fairham, England (could be Fareham?)d. 16 Jan 1919 Komgha. Info taken from gravestone and military records. I don't have a DN for her and there doesn't appear to be a place called Fairham in England.

They possibly got married on the ship when he travelled to SA with the British German Legion in 1856. The ship records show Joseph RUST married Jenny GLOCK, but this was often incorrect and may have been Jane CLARK. I am unable to find either of their baptism, birth details or where they came from exactly.

I have also obtained copies of documents from the Cape archives that show that his sister made enquiries about his where abouts through the War office in England in 1879. A reply was sent back confirming that a German by the name of Joseph RUST does live in Komgha and he believes he is the person being enquired about. Unfortunately it does not state his sister's name and I am not sure how to persue this further through the archives in England.

Any further information would be greatly appreciated as I can't seem to go any further.

Hi, after all this time you've made me realise that I still haven't got these albums online. But there is one related picture, and it shows Elizabeth Anne Rust and baby William. Elizabeth was married to Abraham who was a priest.

He was born abot about Novemebr 1832 in Brandenburg Germany and died in Decemeber 1904 in Brenham Texas. he is burried at the E.V.Friedens Cemetary North of Brenham

It's been awhile since I've searched for this connection.
Elizabeth M Rust aka Mary Elizabeth Rust was born about 1836
in Ohio, married Nelson Elijah Perdue who was born about 1833, in Virginia. The marriage took place in Lawrence Co., Ohio on 11 September 1852. I know quite a bit about their children, but nothing as far as RUST or PERDUE ancestors.

My maternal grandmother was Irene Hazel Rust, who was born and died in in Indianapolis, IN. She had a sister Katherine and a brother Norman. Her father was Charles A. Rust and his father was Charles Augustus Rush. I have hit a road block here. I know that one of the Charles Rusts was a concert pianist, somehow connected with the Cincinnati Conservatory of Music. My RUST brickwall comes after my g-grandfater Alexander RUST b 1859 KY, d 1893 OT. I believe, based on certain family information that his father's name was Albert "Arkansas" RUST of KY b.1822 d bef 1870. I would really like to confirm this relationship.

Hi there

Joseph Francis Rust is my great-great grandfather. One of his sons is Henry Louis, his son John Edward and then my father Henry Louis.

I have some info which I will gladly share, including certified copies of births and baptisms.

I am trying to find his military records..still no luck. He was initially in the 5th Light Infantry Regiment and later in the 3rd Bombay Regiment during the Indian Mutiny.

Also, I found conflicting records. According to one he was married to Jenny Glock and the other to a Bertha Clark.

Any information would be greatly appreciated.

I am researching my Rust family tree in South Africa and trying to trace the roots back to Germany. My Dad has always said his family came from Germany, but doesn't have any further info. My Great Grandfather was John Bernardt Rust who died in abt 1951. In the Geneological Index I have come across Francis Joseph Rust, who came to South Africa with the German Legion in 1857 and received land near Stutterheim, Cape, South Africa. D 4.2.1891. S.O.
