It looks like the first Sain's were in America in Pennsylvania about 1740 and that they came from Germany. Jasper or Casper Sain Moved to Rown Co., North Carolina there is a lot of genealogy on his line.

My husband was descended through Elizabeth Sain b. 1786 Married John Johnson her line comes through Philip Sain Sr of Fredrick Co., Maryland many of his descendents moved to Fairfield Co., Ohio area about 1802. Question on George Sain, supposedly father of the "Four Brothers"

I've read the two theories on the parentage of the 4 brothers. (I'm a descendant of Elisha, via Samuel Daniel Sain)

The first being that their mother was a harlot and had children with 4 men, subsequently naming each after their respective fathers.

The second being that they were the children of George Sain, son of Joseph and nephew of Daniel, and Patty Davis, sister or daughter of Martha/Mary Davis Sain.

My question is, if George didn't die until 1830, but Joseph died in 1824, why wouldn't he include George in his will if George were living?

Wouldn't be a little more likely that George Sain were the son of this George Saine, of Rowan, North Carolina in the 1810 Census?

This wouldn't be the George Sain, son of Casper Sain, as his son George died in 1803.

Any thoughts on this?

Lastly, where did the information that the 4 brothers were not the children of Daniel originally come from? I recently received a lot of information from a cousin of mine that she'd done 15 or 20 years ago. She'd gotten all of her Sain information from Zela McBride, and none of it indicates that Elisha and his brothers were not the biological children of Daniel, so I'm simply curious where this theory came about?

Hope someone can help me with this. I'm very interested in knowing the truth of the four brothers' parentage, and I think getting to the bottom of it, at least for me, will mostly involve checking all sources and their reliability. Thanks.

My dad was Charles Sain His grandma was Willie Mae Sain birth dates are different but her husdand my dads grandpa was Charley Lee Sain. Willies Maiden name was Coker so I dont know if its the same people you are searching for its just so similar.

James Robert Sain, age 84, of Lancaster, Ohio passed away Wednesday, May 10, 2011, at Crestview Manor Nursing Home.

He was a member of Maple Street United Methodist Church, and was a 1944 graduate of Lancaster High School.

Jim was a long time D.J. with WHOK where he was known as Lancaster's original "Mr. Sandman".
He was the former manager of the Lyric Theatre, a Kroger deli man and recorded Sunday services for the Maple St. United Methodist Church for WFCO.

Survived by: a brother, Thomas (Joan) Sain, Gig Harber, Washington; step-daughter, Pamela (Richard) White, Canal Winchester, Ohio; step-son, Jerry (Carla) White, Lancaster; sisters-in-law, Martha (Robert) Lambert, Lancaster, Mary Ann (Verlin) Kraner, Carroll, Ohio; and many friends.

Preceded in death by: parents, Lavert and Mona Sain; his first wife, Norma Jean Kraner Sain, and second wife Anna May White Sain.

Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m., Saturday, May 14, 2011 at the Halteman-Fett & Dyer Funeral Home with Pastor Desiree Carter officiating.
Burial will be at Carroll Cemetery. Friends may call 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
The family suggests contributions to Maple Street Untied Methodist Church in Jim's memory.

I am probably way off base, but oh well..looking for info on my father, Robert Sain Johnson, prob born in TN circa 1923 and family moved to KY, around Hazard, Ky in Perry Cty. My mother would never talk of him, they were divorced in 1947. I just recently found that his middle name was Sain. My grandmother said he told a story that his grandmother or maybe mother was a Cherokee Indian. Shiner,Tx or Witting,Tx. I am his granddaughter from his third from the youngest child(Arthur).
I have been searching for his grave site. Possibly in the Witting,Tx area. I know he is NOT buried in Shiner.
He was married to Alma Stoeljte and lived either in Witting or Shiner at one time. They had 10 children, all lived past the age of 60 except the oldest who died as an infant.This child is buried in Witting,Texas/except the grave is now lost.
My aunt is now in a retirement home and cannot remember any details.
My parents were Arthur and Alvina (Reichardt) Mueller from Yoakum, Texas.

Her mother's name is Willie Mae Sain, born to a Charles and Leila Sain. Willie Mae was born in 1919 in Wilmot, Arkansas and passed away in 1980 in Lake Providence, Louisiana. I myself can't find anything about my family name Sain either. all we get is dead ends when I look. So if any body can help me out. my grandfather died at 18 years when the Alaska pipe line caved in, my father died at 49 years old not to long ago. Most of my family resides in Oklahoma in that area. other than my brother and I. i really dont know to much more, so if you could fill in blankes for me let me know!

Born in Lincoln County, he was a machinist at Cochrane Furniture Company.

Jennifer, you and I must be related fairly closely, as I just responded to your post regarding Freddye Shearin Sain as well. All I know is that Zachary Sain was my great-great-grandfather (my great-grandfather being Robert Lee Sain, my grandfather being Fred Ewell Sain, and my mother being Jeanene Sain Lawhead), and that my first cousin is named for him. I would be interested in seeing the tree you have constructed if there were ever the opportunity!

from Hettie Lnu (possible Sarah H. Dellinger who married John F. Sain?) to Cephus Crooks Dellinger with Hettie telling Cephus that he can come back home to NC and find a new wife. Cephus's 1st wife, Fannie Hallman died in 1901 leaving Cephus a widower with nearly grown children living at home.

Harry Marvin Sain passed away on Jan 13 2009. He is survived by his wife Phyllis Heigley Sain, his daughter and son in law Elizabeth and Thomas Lamb, his brother and sister in law Ken and Marilyn Sain and 6 neices and nephews.
Harry was born in Monrovia, Ca. on April 11 1928. He served in the 24th Infantry Division, US Army of Occupation in Japan at the end of the WW2 and was a radio operator. After military service he attended Pasadena City College, received his bachelor's degree from UC Santa Barbara with a major in industrial education and is Master of Arts in Secondary Teaching from Cal State LA.
Harry taught graphic arts for 33 years in El Monte City School District. In 1965 he was selected as the LA county Industrial Educator of the year. After retirement, he continued to work for the school district as a printer for another 20 years.
Harry was an exceptionally fine woodworker and won many blue ribbons at the LA county fair. He was an amatuer radio operator holding the call sign W6CSH for over 60 years. An avid airplane enthusiast he built both models and wooden replicas. While he was teaching he held classes during recess and lunch time for student to learn to build and fly model airplanes. He was an excellent photographer an avid fisherman. Harry loved the lakes of the Eastern Sierras and he and his fmaily spent all of their summers in the cabin he built in 1962.
Services will be held at Christ Lutheran Church, 311 South Citrus Ave in West Covina on Saturday Jan 17th at 9:30am. If friends wish to make donations in lieu of flowers they may be made to the Endowment Fund of Christ Lutheran Church 311 South Citrus,West Covina, Calif 91790 or Citrus Valley Hospice at 820 N. I am looking for verification of the existance of a Casper Sain family Bible. Some where I read its suppose to exist and is @ Mocksville Library. Can anyone substantiate this?
I have been searching for the actual birth parents for Hetta Sain who married Edmun(d) Taylor in October 1816 in Rowan County, NC. They had their children there and sometime in the 1830's moved to Gibson County, TN. When Edmun(d) died aprox. 1857 Hetta moved with all her son's and their families to Sebastian County, AR.
I've come across many theories on who Hetta parents were but nothing with documented proof.
Any help will be appreciated.

Kemp Sain was the son of Thomas Polk Sain & Virginia (Jennie) Davis Sain who had 5 children.. 1) Ida Florence 2) Franklin Eugene 3) Oscar George 4) Donnie T. 5) Arthur (KEMP) Sain.. He was the youngest of the bunch, and died when he fell onto the saw while cutting a log. He's my grandfather's uncle who always told me it cut him in half.. and I think he's burried in Lincoln co.

I was raised in Shiner Lavaca county TX; the old homestead of mine is abt 5 miles out of Shiner FM966 You are kin to the Walter & elie Brunkenhaufer ... the Gerloff Brunenhaufer Wehl Sain are all buried in the Shiner city cemetery The funeral home there should be able to tell you where all of these relatives are located ...it's like putting a puzzle to gether ..

Yes I am indeed a Sain and Johnnie is my Dad. My full name is Johnnie Darlene Sain. I am his first-borne. He was married to my mom Von Ceil in the late 50's. She was 16 when I was born and is now 62. I just turned 47. I live here in Amarillo as well. I have wanted info on my dad and my other relatives all my life. My Mom has told me very little. I know about my Grandmother Pauline but had no idea she was still alive. My mom lives in Okla city. I have 4 half sisters and brothers but we all have different dads.I talked to a Sain in Amarillo back about 7 years ago but don't remember the name was it you? I am very interested in hearing more. If you get this let me know.

Hi Dianne, just today (7/4/08) I was reading the passenger list of the ship ("The Dragon") that Casper came on and didn't see any other. However,I am not saying you are wrong.Could have come on another ship perhaps? I,m rather new at this.It gets really confusing.I,m way down here in South Tx. and seem to have followed my roots over to NC where there seems to be alot more Sain people over there.*Bet you never heard that one before* Anyhow, good Luck with your search.

My name is Mark Alton Sain and my son is Mark Alton Sain II "Sonny". I reckon my Dad vaguely would remember his dad since Willie died when he was 2 years old.I just now signed up with "ancestry.com" and finding a world of info.This Summer I will be going to Shiner Tx. to cemetery,then hopefully up to Independence Tx.There's still alot I don't know that interests me.As for us we have lived down here in South Texas all my life.Where are you all from?
P.S Till recently ,I didn't even know Willie had a brother or a sister.
