Hoping someone might have known this family. Adam Sak is my paternal grandfather, arriving USA in 1904 at age 19. Adam's Father name Ignatius, Mother Helen or Stephanie died in 1938 in their 90's. My Dad's notes say Adam was only boy; had 10 or 12 sisters. Anyone know this family?
Thank you!

Do you have any of the following in your family history?
Elmer Shackow.. Born Sullivan County Indiana.. 12-12- 1883 = Oct 1964 Hood River Oregon.
His Father.. Robert Shackow 7-1-1844 and Mary Shackow 6-30-1849 and they are buried in Clear Spring Meshak Cemetery in Choctaw OK.
My moms sister Elsie is also buried there, she died at a young age.
It appears my great grandfather migrated to Oklahoma from Indiana after my grandfather was born. But before Indiana, I have no idea.
I suspect that at one point the Shackow spelling had been altered from something else.
Thanks I hope to hear from you. Linda

Saks from Poland to NY then Detroit

Hello Cheryl, my wife's relatives were Saks that came over
from Lublin Poland. We have been hitting brick walls so even
if this is a long shot, let me give you some details. We may
find a connection. Leo/Leonard Sak was born 11 April 1888 in Lublin
Poland m. Nellie/Aniela/Angeline Niekra fro Krakow. They were married
in Buffalo NY in 1909. They lived in Lackawanna, New York. They
moved to Detroit in 1915. Children included Wladyslawa (grandmother), Lottie,
Irene, Edward, Uska, Roman, Leona, Jon and Thedeas. We have more info
on descendants if this sounds promising. Do you have any info on
where your relatives settled in the US. You can contact us directly
at k9murph@concentric.net.
I am looking for a friend I knew in high school, Ruthann Sak. I do not know her married name or even if she did marry. She and I both attended San Rafael High School in San Rafael, Marin County, California and graduated from there in 1961. If you know of her would you either email me her address or email address or give my email address to her? Thank you so much. Ellen
