thanks for the reply. I am afraid i dont have any further info on the surname. Funny enough, my brother's name is Jan Saml. Not sure fro mwhere the surname come from. If i knwo somehting more i will elt yu know and vice versa, please. that wil lbe great.

Hi Veronika, I have an ancestor named Jane Samle. I'm guessing she was born around 1834 in Pennsylvania. She married George Kephart and had at least one son named Sullivan Bert Kephart. The only reason I know her name is because she is listed as the mother on his death certificate. I'm looking for any further information. The meaning and origin of this name would be a great thing to know.

if you have a surname SAML (or you are a descendant or relative) I would like to hear from you. I am trying to track down the meaning of the surname SAML and where it came from.

Unfortunately when I found the word SAML, in most cases it was given name Saml., which is short for Samuel.
