Looking into my grandmother's family history. She was born in Eibar,Guipuzca, Pais Basco, Spain, born 1895, married to Gilberto Margareto born 1890, Pamplona, Navarra, Spain. She had 7 children, my father was the second youngest, Carlos Margareto, born 1932, Baracaldo, Pais Basco, Spain. If anyone knows any info please send me a message.

Hi Linda, My grandfather was married to Frances J. Santa Maria and I have a copy of there wedding certificate I have been looking for any pictures of her or her family.

Hola Rosa! Primero me quiero desculpar por mi falla con el Espanol. El Espanol que hablamos en Mexico es un poco diferente al Espanol que se habla en la madre patria y sumale el que yo vivo en los Estado Unidos desde los ocho, bueno, ojala y me tengas paciencia. Me interesa mucho lo que escribiste sobre Pablo de Santa Maria. Tengo un libro titulado "Espana: Sintesis de su Civilizacion" que habla de Pablo de Santa Maria. Segun el libro, Pablo hizo su convercion publica al cristianismo en 1390. Segun tengo entendido, una vez su conversion hecha fue una autoridad major sobre el cristianismo y tiene varios libros acreditados a el. En realidad me interesa mucho saber que piensas tu o que sabes de el ya que me intrigo mucho tus comentarios y dudas sobre el como un ancestro. Tambien me interesa mucho saber mas sobre la coneccion Alemana. Justo la semana pasada, una tia mia comentaba que ella piensa que nuestra rama de los Santamaria es de origen Aleman. Te dire que yo no me paresco nada a un Aleman, pero mis tias, varios primos y hasta mi hermano y dos de mis hermanas son muy blancos y es muy obvio en ellos nuestra posible ancestria Alemana. Hello¡ I write from Spain (Europe). I beg your pardon for my english, isn't good.
I have a aunt that she went to villages and old churchs in Castilla (extended region in the middle of Spain)looking for ancestres ´s marriages. She got results untill XVI century, Juan Santamaria from Toledo,Spain, in Europe.
There was in the XII century a rabbi chief of the ghetto of Burgos, that he converts to cristianism and was appointed bishop of Burgos, his name was Pablo de Santa María, but to link this person with us, the Santamarías of today, is very risky.
In other way, perhaps, the surname comes from german emigrants that brings to Castilla (Spain) Emperor Charles I of Spain and V of Germany, king of two kingdoms in the XVI century, and proving their catholicism,(age of religion wars)they put the Virgin Mary's name. Many of Santamaria of my family are tall, blonde and with blue or green eyes, for example,my daughter and me. This is only a theory without proofs.In Spain we have ancestrs celtics, visigothics, romans, francs,etc..
The existence of Juan Santamaría in the XVI century do is acredited.
Other Santa Maria have their origin in an orfhanat in the XIX century in Burgos; give this surname to childrens without known fathers, but I know that isn´my genealogic tree thanks to my adventuress aunt.
In Spain is more easy to follow the genealogy because woman don't lose his surname when she gets married. When we were born we have two surname and one or two names, but always two surnames, first father's surnames and the second, mother's surname

her parents: Rafael Santa Maria & Maria Rodriguez

My husband is related to antonio santa maria (born in late 1800s or very early 1900s) and fernando santa maria (married to minerva --born in 1920's or 30's?). If these men are related to you, I'd love to hear from you to pursue that part of the family tree. Thanks! Pat

I am looking for any links to my father Nicholas Santamaria Sr. He had a brother Victor, my father was born in Rhode Island in 1928. Not sure if he was born in Providence as I was born there. My mother was Mary Iarcci, also from R.I. as my father just recently died Sept.29, 2001. I have nothing to go on. Sure would like to find any aunts uncles, cousins etc.

My father was Ramon Santamaria from El Paso, TX. I believe he was married 5 times. I only know three of the five names: Celia, Tina and Alicia. Alicia was my mother. My father had a few children from these marriages. If anything sounds familiar, I will be happy to give you more information.

My father's name was Ramon Santamaria, born September, 1920 and born in El Paso, Texas. After serving in WWII, he moved to Los Angeles. His mother's maiden name was Duran. My father was raised by his Aunts. I believe one of Aunts was Agustina. I do not know if he had any other siblings.

I'm not sure if there is any relation, but there quite possibly might be. My father, Ramon Santamaria was born in El Paso, TX in September of 1920. I have many relatives in Texas, but all of whom are unknown to me. I believe my father was raised by his aunties back then, but I do not have their names. Anything sound familiar so far?

Hello, I was surprised to receive a reply after all this time. Is it possible we could be distant cousins? As I said, my grand father was Daniel Santa Maria and my mother was Jeanne Santa Maria. Some months ago I found a book through the Topanga Historical Society which has some family info. I'd appreciate any info. you could give me.

Looking for decendants of gr grandfather Jesus Santa Maria born in Sonora, Mexico in approx.1850. His family migrated to Los Angeles and in 1878 he married Elena Valenzuela born in Los Angeles, CA. They were the first settlers in Topanga Canyon, CA had 18 children. A few of the names I know are Daniel (my grandfather), Jack, Bill, Dave Adrian.
