I am from Argentina, my father (Aníbal Roberto Santander) was born here but my grandfather (Pablo Santander) born in Paraguay, near to Villa Rica his dougther says that we have family in Chile but I don´t know any more.....
If you have any information I really happy to hear about my father´s family.

I would be interested to know the history of the last name Santander, as it is mine too! I always thought my ancestors must have came from Spain, but now maybe I'm not sure... It was my dad's name, and his family is from Chile. I currently live in the US too. Do you have any information you could send me or tell me where to look? Thank you,

My name is Rafa Santander. I'm from Spain but I live in the US. This may sound weird but I have the complete history of the Santander family from the first Santander around 1470 to me. The Santander name is rare in Spain being more abundant in the Americas. This is due to numerous people taking their last name form cities or regions named after the Spanish city of Santander.

hi, i am in california, nor cal, close to the coast. my dad was born in guam, but he is filipino. i think we got the name from when the spanish invaded and occupied the philipines some hundreds of years ago. but thats just my guess. ive only met santanders online, but none with the same name as me before! hope all is well w/u. w/b!

Well, Laura that is crazy we have the same name, it's probably pretty rare. I live out in Indiana USA. I was born and raised in Canada though, I moved down here about 6 years ago. My father has the last name and he is from Santiago, Chile. My mom is American. I am pretty sure our ancestors are from Spain (I mean theres a city of Santander there!) I have ancestors from all over though, I can't even keep track. My dad has lots of family in CHile, unfortunately I've never been. So where do you live again? Have you ever met another Santander? Not me. (except online) Well see ya....

hi laura! its me laura! that is pretty crazy we have same name, and that u found me. i came to this site to find out more bout my fathers family, since we are estranged i do not know much. do u know bout ur heritage? so crazy to see. but i ended up changing my first name, i could nt take it as laura anymore. its hard to shorten, to have nickname u know? well, laura have a good day, hope to hear from you sometime!
