I hope I didn't inadvertently send an imcomplete message.
If so, I'm sorry. Computer keys sometimes do things that baffle me! I am looking for Christina Sauer b.1833 Germany d.1880 Detroit, MI She married August Schallow, my great grandfather. My grandfather was August Ferdinand (Fred) Schalow. The Schalow spelling has several options. I have had very little info about Christina's background. Sometime's I wonder if I have things mixed up! You are kind of offer to look for info for those interested. Many thanks.
Elaine

Ruth Isabel Sauer

I'm looking for a direct descendant of Ruth Isabel Sauer. Ruth was born abt Apr 1917 in Huron county, Michigan. I have a photo of Ruth taken w/her mother which, according to the handwriting on the back of the postcard photo, says she was "9 days old." I would like to get the original into a descendant's hands. I've tried the connect feature in Ancestry but have received no response. Ruth's parents were Alfred H. Sauer and Jessie A. McKenney.

Texas SAUER Family Bible of Karl & Anna SIMANK

I am hoping to locate the family Bible of Karl August SIMANK (1812-1886) and his wife Anna Magdalene ROESSLER Simank (1812-1875) who came (from Germany) to CENTRAL TEXAS in the early 1850's. This couple's DAUGHTER Ernestine Helene SIMANK married Joachim SAUER. Joachim and Ernestine had three children and Joachim SAUER sadly died "young". Ernestine remarried Karl August RABE and had ten more children. Would anyone in the SAUER family know what became of the family Bible of Ernestine SIMANK Sauer Rabe's PARENTS? Many thanks for asking around about the SIMANK Bible!

Hubert born 2/24/1834 Baden Germany married Maria Theresa Napp B. 5/31/1844 Luckman Germany and that is as much as I know. Except they had 8 children all born in the US. So don't know when or how they got here. Anything would be GREAT.
myersthumper1@msn.com
Leslie

You are amazing. Thank you so much. I do know that the Sauer's were related to Arthur Middleton - signer of the Declaration of Independence. I just can not figure out how to get there from here. Are we related? Does your family go back to Wien? I did know that. Grampa's family was from Vienna, Austria. Philip A. Sauer, Sr. and my Grandfather, Philip A. Sauer, Jr. and his brother, David C. Sauer all went to Dartmouth. Please stay in touch. You have been most helpful. Thank you again. Hollie

I'm looking for info and descendants of Marie Sauer of Germany. She was born about 1866, married about 1888, immigrated between 1883-1888. She may have immigrated with her husband, Fritz Metzner, from Altona, Hamburg, Germany, or may have arrived after him.

Marie settled with her husband Fritz in Hoboken, NJ. She had at least 6 children with him, maybe 7. One was my grandfather, Martin Metzner.

Any information on Marie and/or Fritz/Frederick/Fred Metzner is greatly appreciated.

I realize this was posted quite some time age, but I have just been reasearching and found this post. I have been searching for the Sauer connection to my G-grandmother May Sauer (Barth). I believe through my search that she is the daughter of John and Anna Sauer. This is all the information I have. She died before I was born. I know she married Jacob Barth and had two children, my grandfather, Joesph Barth. They lived in NY and later settled in Oceanside Ca, where she died in 1966. If you have any information,or if this book is relevant to this line, please let me know.

This child Nicholas was the child of Josef (1894) and Elizabeth Schmidt(1886). Josef, Katherine and Barbara Schummer came to the USA around 1914. Josef and wife Elizabeth were traveling back to Josefdorf to visit family and their son Nick, just a baby became sick and died and was buried there. They returned home with their surviving son Joe and had 3 more sons..Peter, Andrew and Frank.
There is no record of Margaret. No one has ever mentioned her and there are no family pictures. Perhaps she died when she was quite young.

Dear Melly,

I studied violin with a Mr. Sauer who came to Springfield, Illinois to teach me during the 1940s. I'm assuming that he lived there. Do you know of a Mr. Sauer, who was a fine violinist during that time?

Also, in the 1960s I studied piano with Vladmir Brenner.

Would either Mr. Sauer or Mr. Brenner be of the two family branches that you mention?

Looking forward to your reply,

Helen

Conrad Sauer in Texas

My ancestor Conrad Sauer immigrated to Texas, probably Harris County, around 1860. Does anyone have some possible clues?

Sauers from Austria - Antonia, Eduard, Heinrich

My grandmother was Antonia Melony Sauer (b 11 May 1926 Salzburg, Astria)

Her parents were Eduard Sauer (born in the 1800s possibly in Salfelden, Austria) and Antonia Rauchbauer. Eduard and Antonia also had another daughter named Ernistine Sauer.

Eduard's father was Heinrich Sauer who possibly owned a large farm in Austria or Germany.

I would appreciate any leads on any of my grandmothers ancestors. Especially if anyone knows more about my grandmother's sister Ernistine Sauer as they lost contact after my grandmother married and moved to the US. We believe Ernistine also married and moved to the US at some point.

Thank you.

Dora is pictured in the 1936 Growl, yearbook of Texas Lutheran College in Seguin, Texas, and is a sophomore. I'm not kin but thought this might help someone locate family.
Sauers in New York/New Jersey

Hi Melly,
I'm looking for Sauers that came from Germany. The farthest German decendent was Wilhelm Sauer, married to Catherine Deviong. They had a son named Hugo Henrich Sauer who moved to New York City (Queens). Does your book contain anything about Wilhelm Sauer and Catherine Deviong? Thanks for your help!
Christine
