I found a newspaper clipping while researching and thought it might help someone else. It was in The Deaily Review,
Decatur, IL on Jan. 12, 1893.
The clipping says William
Bozarth, a butcher, quarreled with
Finley Saunders over wages and the latter stabbed
Bozarth in the back, inflicting serious wounds. Sanuders fled to the home of Stephen
Tudor for refuge. When
Constable Ortegal
Caton went to the
Tudor home to arrest
Saunders, he was refused entrance. The constable shot
Tudor in the head, killing him instantly, and
Saunders escaped.
