Schade's from Konigshutte, Havelland, Brandenburg, Germany (Prussia)

My information is sketchy but here it goes: Looking for a Marie Techner who had a son August Carl Schade who came to Yorktown, Texas with his first wife Anna Marie Janick(Janich). He possibly had a relative with the last name of Warwas as well. Cannot find any records for Marie Techner or of the father of August C. Schade. Any leads would be great. Family rumor has it that a church burned down and all was destroyed. Where and when, I have no clue. Anything from Germany was destroyed by August's second wife Sophia Grutze(Grutza) and anything else saved was passed down through the children of August and Anna Maria and displaced. Thank you in advance.

Obit of Mrs. Jacob (Margreth Leiser) Schade 1925

From the Chatsworth Plaindealer
Chatsworth,Livingston,Illinois

MRS. MARGRETH SCHADE
JUNE 11, 1925

Margreth Leiser Schade was born Sept. 11, 1850 at Hagen Rhein Balern, Germany, and died at 1:00 o'clock Thursday afternoon, June 4, 1925, at her home in Chatsworth.
The funeral services were held Saturday, June 6, first in brief form at the home and then in the Evangelical church at 2:30 o'clock. The pastor, Rev. C.J. Krell, officiated, being assisted by Rev. B.W. Moehl, of Joliet. Interment was made in Chatsworth cemetery.
In the year 1856, when she was just 6 years of age she, with her parents came to America and located in Tazewell county. On March 5, 1869 she was married to Jacob Schade at Peoria. Immediately after their marriage they settled on a farm in Germanville Township. In 1903 they moved to Chatsworth, where 10 years later, Jan. 17, 1913, her husband preceded her in death. Of the eleven children born to this union, four preceded the departed in death. Two of these died in infancy, and Arthur and William at the ages of 7 and 26 respectively.
From youth up, the departed was given good religious training, having been confirmed in the Lutheran church in Peoria at the age of sixteen years. Shortly after moving to Germanville township she was converted and joined the Evangelical church under the ministry of Rev. W. Neitz. She was a faithful member of the church for 55 years. She loved to go to church services and attended regularly before the last years of ill health, and even then under great difficulties she occasionally found her way to the House of God. When not able to attend she wanted her chair arranged that she could look out of the front window and watch the people come to church. The great desire of her life was to do the right.
During the past few years of ill-health she often had to endure great suffering and at various times she expressed a desire to be relieved and taken to her heavenly home. On May the 27 she took sick with pneumonia, and the resulting weakness with other complications brought her sufferings to the end.
Sometime before her departure she mad arrangements to leave a commendable sum of money for the mission work of the church of which she was a member. She leaves to mourn, four sons and three daughters; Adam, Henry and Albert of Srawn; Charles, of Kankakee; and Mrs. Elizabeth Shols, Mrs. Minnie Williams and Mrs. Clara Game of Chatsworth. A sister, Caroline Schilling, a brother, Peter Leiser, both of Peoria and a brother Jacob Leiser of Spokane, Wash. In addition to these there are nineteen grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, as well as other relatives and friends, who are saddened by their loss which is her gain.
Relatives from out of town who attended the funeral are as follows; Mrs. Carrie Schilling, Mr. and Mrs. Peter Leiser, Mrs. Al Kalor, Mr. and Mrs. Ezra Shols and daughter, Mrs. Christina Koch, from Peoria,Ill. Mrs. Ernest Land, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Sutter, Mrs. and Mrs. Adam Brucker, and family, Mr. and Mrs. Rudolph Sheppelman from Fairbury, Mrs. Anna Hoppart and family, Mr. and Mrs. John Hoppart, Mrs. and Mrs. John Brucker and family, Mrs. and Mrs. Joe Kuntz, Jr., Mrs. John Schade and sons George and Frank, Mrs. Henry Watkins, Mr. and Mrs. Clark Thomas, Cropsey, Mr. and Mrs. August Brucker and daughter Mrs. Ida Linnerman, Mr. Ed Steinburg and son, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Brucker, from Sibley, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Brucker, Colfax, Mr. and Mrs. Sam Roth, Weston, Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Roth and family, Frank Roth of Strawn, Henry Billerbeck,Sr., Mr. and Mrs. Orville Read, Cullom, Mr. and Mrs. John Benway and daughter, Cresent City, Mrs. Mary Ulfers, Bloomington.
Hi A bit of a puzzle.. Sorry, our family is not associated with yours as far as I can tell..My Grandfather lived for a few years in Chicago starting in 1854 before moving to New Ulm in Minnesota in 1864. The family origin is from Prussia, a town called Klein Silber. Associated is the family Retzlaf from the same area. I find it odd that your relative is named Clare Schade as that is my name.
cheers Mr. Clare Royal Schade

Hi there

I think we are family!
My name is Gretchen Schade and I have some insight for you possibly on this dilemma
My Great Uncle Martin was living out there, we had been trying to find him for years.
Fact is that I believe he worked at the steel mills and also had another family there.
What I want to tell you is that Martin would have been born 1898 and was raised to a young age, on our farm, he ran around however, and there were problems there, so the family shunned him for lack of supporting his wife and baby there at the farm.
He ran off and joined the service , we received a letter from Richmond Va (service time)
Then the last we heard he was somewhere out that way where you are but no one knows for sure, yet.
I just started our family tree and realize that I have alot to put together here, what I thought was only a couple of relatives has turned out to be huge!

I am grateful for it too!

We are family I am sure of that!
I just do not know how yet.

Please realize that other things come in to play, such as relation not wanting others to "know" what happened, or sometimes an inheritance that would have been spread around, some might not have stayed in touch for different reasons, please know that I have been trying to find Martin for a very long time, he was much older than my Grandfather his brother, also there was a sister but she passed away young of pneumonia.

Please know that you will be invited to our family reunion after I get these other relatives found that we are now searching for, glad that I found you!

Do send what ever other information you have and I look forward to hearing from you!

Warm Regards

Gretchen

My goodness... thank you for all of that information! I'm a bit limited in the records I have with me here. My husband and I are currently living in Prague and won't return to the US (and some stored records) until October of this year. I hadn't expected to work on my mom's side of the family for a while, until this popped up. Thanks again! Will get my research cap on quickly.

Based on what you've given, it's too early to say if your Loderhoses were from Frankenberg, although other Loderhoses in SF at the same time were from Frankenberg. You'll need to obtain his naturalization certificate to verify (he immigrated in 1881 and naturalized before 1900), and death certificate for more information. You can probably also order his marriage certificate to obtain the names of his parents.

Heinrich Karl/Henry Charles Loderhose was born in 1858. He married in 1899 to Pauline Louise Zeitler (who immigrated in 1899) - San Francisco Cert# SF1899-6161. He died at age 43 and was cremated and buried in 1901(record 3608).

Other Loderhoses you might be connected to from SF:

William Christian Loderhose, waiter in 1890 at 19 1/2 Harlan Pl, SF, also driver with Heinrich Loderhose at 418 Kearny, SF

Justus Heinrich Loderhose, d. 1892 (age 78)... 1892D-3763
Justus Heinrich Loderhose, d. 1892 (age 79)... 1892D-3762

Mary Loderhose married 1883 to Louis Leffmann... 1883M-2700
Mary Loderhose married 1891 to Henry Finkenstedt... 1891M-2074

Amy Maria Loderhose, d.1892, age 3 ... 1892D-3761

August Bertram Loderhose, son of August and Mary Loderhose, b. 26 Aug 1893... 1893B-1274

(August and Mary were from Frankenberg, according to the Gantner Bros. Funeral Records. He imm. 1865. He was a baker and grocer. He also naturalized before 1900. He died 24 May 1908 in SF.)

I would be prone to guess that August and Heinrich were brothers, possibly sons of Justus Heinrich Loderhose? Once you've collected more details (like exact birth dates / known parents), we can hop the pond to see how you're connected.
According to the 1900 census, Henry was born in July 1858 in Germany. http://search.ancestry.com/iexec?htx=View&r=an&dbid=...

He was my great-grandfather, but died (self-inflicted, I believe) when my grandmother was only 2 or 3 years old.

Although I don't think we're related, this was just too good to pass up without comment. My great-grandmother (Pauline or Paula Zeitler) came to the US and married Heinrich LODERHOSE. After she was widowed, she re-married a number of years later... to Daniel SCHADE. How very odd to find another Loderhose-Schade marriage here...

Hello Tina,

Yes indeed You and I are related!!

Your Great Great Grandfather Henry would be my Great Uncle!
Henry Schade in the Schade Book is called "John Henry" Schade, Born November 7, 1855 in Frankenberg, Germany.
Died March 17 1938 in Portland, Oregon.
He was married twice. The first wife Henry was married to was in Portland, Oregon on November 3, 1881, her name was "A. Margaretha" (Gretchen) Troegel, she was born November 29, 1857 in Kurhessen Germany and Died July 3 1890.
Henry's second wife he married was on October 7th. 1891
a year after his first wife passed away. His second wifes name was "Emilia Daubea" Born November 23rd. 1856 in Kurhessen, Germany and she died April 13th. 1921.
There were a total of six children that Henry had between the first wife and second wife. The first three children of Henry and Margaretha's was "Dorothea Maria", Born March 14th 1883 in Portland Oregon, "Emilie", Born July 14th. 1885 in Portland Oregon. The third child was "John" Born September 9th. 1888 in Portland, Oregon.
The Second marriage of Henry and Emilia produced the other three children, which were "Anna Elizabeth", Born September 25th. 1892 in Protland Oregon. "Karl" Born January 2nd.1895 Portland Oregon, and "Frank" Born October 14th, 1896.

As you can see your real Great Grandmother was actualy
A. Margaretha (Gretchen) Schade not Emilia.
Justus Henry Schade - Cumberland, MD 1871

Hello, everyone,

I'm working on tracking the genealogy of a friend and could use some help.

Her grandmother tells her that her great-great-grandparents were Justus Henry Schade and Caroline Elizabeth Borchert who married 5 May 1891 and had one daughter, Hilda Catherine who was born 23 Feb 1893.

I find Justus and Hilda (aged 41 and 16) living with Frederice and Catherina Finkledye in Cumberland in the 1910 Census. No Caroline.

I find Hilda, married to William E. Hardman and living in Cumberland, MD in 1930. At least one of this couple's children ended up in Mt. Airy, NC, where my friend lives today.

I have also found Martha Schade (a widow born in Hessen as was her husband) in Cumberland, MD in the 1880 Census with her children Elzabeth, Louis, George and Ustus (12, 10, 8 and 4)

In the LDS IGI records I find Mrs. Martha Schade, born 19 May 1835 in Hess and G. Schade born 19 Jun 1834 in Hess ... married about 1865.

I'm having the very devil of a time connecting the dots and finding other members of the various families ... Does any of this sound familiar to anyone?

Hi Inez,
My name is Suzanne Schade, I came across your name while researching my family tree through ancestry.com.au.

I believe we have some relatives in common, my great great grandfather/mother is Petrus Schade & Anna Elizabeth le Roux, and then my great great great grandparents are Rudolf Caspar Schade & Anne Catharina Koenen (Paternal) & Johannes H J Le Rouix & Charlotte Carolina Frederika Toscani (maternal).

In your discussions on the message board you seem to say you have more information about Carolina Toscani.

And also that Rudolf's ancestor goes back to 1399 - Wulbrand Schade as mentioned below:

"Amsterdam.
One of the dutch Schade branches, started by Rudolf Caspar Schade 28-08-1788 Essen ( Oldb.)-23-08-1842 Purmerend (NL) x Anna Cath. Koene 18-09-1795 Purmerend -11-5-1858 Purmerend.
Rudolf Casper's branch going back to Wulbrand von Schade, 1399 mentionend as fighting for Bishop Otto von Munster against Graf Klaus von Tecklenburg.

Digging for (roman catholic) branches, esp. from Munster/Osnabruck (Oldenburg and Emsland) region, very interested in other branches."

I found a book online that mentions Wulbrand Schade's fight with the bishop from Otto and the book is dated 1399.

I am very keen on finding out more about the links that you have to my ancestors.

I was born in Voorburg Nederland, My dad's family is from Amsterdam, his grandfather was Bernardus Schade 1865 - 1920 Purmerend. My mothers family is Den Hollander.

We immigrated to Melbourne Australia in 1978. Hence I write in english and not dutch, although I speak & read dutch.
I hope you don't mind me asking you these questions.
Looking forward to hearing from you.
Regards
Suzanne Schade
my email address is schadesign@hotmail.com
