I'm hoping I can get assistance on my great grandfather, Melvin Nichols. I have tracked him all the way through the 1910 census. Then, that's it. He disappears. On the 1920 census, his wife is remarried and his sons are listed as "Step Son" on the census.

If anyone has information on him, or this line - please let me know.

I am your Aunt Barb. I cared for you when you were young, before you were adopted, when your parents could not. Denise was an infant at that time. You have many aunts and uncles who live in the area, as well as many cousins because your father was one of eleven children. I have lost contact with your father but I know he still lives in NJ, as does his mother, your grandmother. I tried finding you at one time to no avail. I have often wondered how you and Denise fared after being adopted.
Contact me about whatever information you want to know and I will help you the best I can. I have no information about your mother (or her side of the family)other than she is medically ill. I did meet your grandmother once.

i am looking for my birth family. i am the oldest daughter of donna Schickling And Larry deeney. they had 4 children. loueva,denise andrew emily and mom had another child name willaim by a diff man in a hositpal. great grandmom is know a lulu . she had a brother . donna is medical sick . i am trying to learn history for health reason but won't give more info for safty reason too. aug 7 79 is my birth day.

The 1880 Census for 7th Ward, District 13, at 1634 Pine St., Philadelphia, PA lists this family:
Kate Shickling, age 44, born Scotland, wife of John Shickling, age 37, born Bavaria. Children: Jeremiah, William and Lizzie.
Since John was born in Bavaria, it may be possible that "Shickling" is a variant spelling of Schickling. My Catharine "Kate" Harton m. William J. Irvin and lived at 1634 Pine St. They had three children: Gerard, William and Elizabeth. William Irvin d in 1878. I am wondering if Kate Shickling is the same person as Catharine "Kate" Harton Irvin - if she remarried and John Shickling was her second husband? Does anyone have information on this Shickling family? Thanks. Elaine

I am the grandchild of Constantine James Schickling.b.jan 4 1909/d.march 19, 1990- who is the son of Walter Schickling of lawrence county b. 1883 d.nov1,1917. Walters parents were Constantine and Rosa anna Schnarrs Schickling. Walter was married to Blanche Green Schickling. Blanche was born in 1886, and died jan 21st 1926. Blanche Green Schickling was born in germany her parents were mr and mrs Bernard Green .Constantine was married to Blythe M. Richardson.b.Feb. 26, 1919/d.Nov. 9, 1989. Has anyone ever heard of these Schicklings? If so please let me know I'd be interested on any info you have. Thanks.

What I meant was that I don't have any email address for
you to email to you directly. My husband and GeGe's late
husband were also cousins. She asked me to help her put
together the Schickling Family. Seems that someone years
ago put together part of the Salsman family years ago and
through my research, I've added even more to it. When they
put together the Salsman family history, they went by mostly
word of mouth and didn't list very many sources to back up
