Hello, My Great Grandmother was Susan Elizabeth Scoggins born 1866 they called her Susie or Lizzie. Her son my Grandfather was Glover Columbus Kennedy, His father was Kader Henry Kennedy. My Grandfather Glover Columbus was born in Apple Springs TX and lived in Trinity Tx most his Life he died in 1969. Looking for information about Susie, I know her mother was Mary Faglie from Florida. My Great Grandfather Kader Henry Kennedy is buried in Montague County Tx. Looking for information on Great Grandmothers parents who was her father. Family story is they have Indian (Cherokee and Choctaw, but cannot find the connection. Was he from Texas? What was his name, only know last name Scoggins.

She found him. And all of us. I think you had a different Russell. My dad is still alive and well in Texas. She came to meet us and her dad. We still have another sister that we would love to meet. Her name was either Andrea or Audriana from Florida. Her mothers name was Reba.

I am a Scoggins researcher. They oldest confirmed Scoggins in our family is Soloman Henry Scoggins, abt 1856 to 1923.
He was married twice, lived in Ga. He had one son by first wife he named Marcus Alexander(Elleck?). This looks suspiciously like Alexander(Ellick) Scoggins 1750-1811.
I think it possible Soloman Henry was the son of Alexander 1750-1811. Any data you can rovide me would be appreciated.

I am searching for Scoggins in Thomas Co ga. my wife GPA was Soloman Henry Scoggins, M Orrie McGuire. Our data stops cold at Soloman Henry Scoggins ?-1923. Can you provide any data at all? We think an ancestor may have been Alexander
"Ellick" Scoggins, 1750-1811. There as a Marcus Alexander(Elick, or Alex) Scoggins that was a son of Soloman henry Scoggins.

It is good to see some activity on this line again. Sorry this is not a UK or England connection, just wanted to let you know that I finally got around to getting my brother to donate some spit for the cause. Am awaiting results from Sorenson labs.. sorry for the delay and for using the other lab, but that's how it goes.
Our line has the family history of 'SE' US (GA, ALA etc) up into ILL and then back down to TX. But we have not hooked up with anyone else yet. Am currently looking in LA, as that is where first child was born in 1870 to BB and Amanda (Talbot) Scogin. But I am not very adept at this, so it goes rather slowly.
I am also totally titillated by your "fun information" concerning 1400's English Scoggin. Shame on you for dangling that carrot and not giving at least some details!

I have an original postcard photograph of “Foster Scoggins and Herman Busse”, which I’d like to get back to descendants or family members. Photo was taken in about 1900, and Foster looks about 20, while Herman looks about 18.

I found Foster Scoggins in the 1910 census for Olive (Madison Co.) IL, age 32. 1900 census showed him age 21, birthdate Feb 1879 – son of A. J. Scoggins of Greene Co., IL. Herman H. Busse, in the 1910 census for Pin Oak (Madison Co.) IL was age 28, and 1900 census showed his birthdate as March 1882.

I am looking for data on Soloman Henry Scoggins, Who married an Orrie McGuire( a decendant of the McGuire Sisters Singers of the mid 1950's). Soloman died in 1923. Orrie lived to mid century. Children of Soloman and Orrie were Curtis, Evelyn Marguarite, Lilly Pauline, raymond.
There could have been more. These children probably born 1890 to 1915. Lived in Georgis.
My wife is a grandaughter of Soloman and Orrie. Evelyn Marguarite was her mother, Her father was Reman C. Cutchens.

This was my father. He was also father to Adam and April Scoggins. His wife was Charlotte (McLeland) Scoggins. Devoted family man and hard working Harley mechanic. I was only nine when he passed, my brother 7, and my sister two. If anyone has more information about Dennis I would like to know.

Lucinda Scoggins was born 20 Han 1820 in North Carolina. She nmrried william Henry Watkins in 1850 in Glmer, Georgia. They has 14 children, the first half born in Georgia and the rest in Arkansas. Lucinda died on 26 Jun 1888 in Harrison, Boone County, Arkansas. One of her daughters was my great-grandmother, Nancy Ann Watkins (1857-1910). She married Pleasant Andrew York.

Any info would be appreciated.

I am not a Scoggins but a direct relation fair way down the line. I am afraid I can't help you with other Scoggins as I don't know any.

I have been searching the Scoggin/Scoggins/Scogan etc family for some time. In fact I am the administrator for the Scoggin and variant name DNA study at FamilyTreeDNA. I am most anxious to find contact who are interested in this name in England and the UK. I am hoping you can help me with this. I do have some interesting information on the family in the 1400s if that is of any interest.
I would be very excited about finding a few males with the surname In your area that might be interested in participating in the DNA study as well as it would a go long ways toward making the link with our relatives across the ocean.

I am researching my tree and find that my 3 x great Grandmother was a a Catherine Scoggins born c1815 at Clarborough, Retford, Nottinghamshire, England. She had the following siblings -
Susannah born c1817
Charles born c1818
Mary born c1822

Their father was a John Scoggins born c1789 at Headon-cum -Repson, East Retford. He was a cotton Weaver living at Moorgate in the 1841 and 1851 census. His wife was an Elizabeth ?? born c1873 at Bawtry, Yorkshire and was a widow in the 1861 census

I believe John's father was a John Scoggin born c1769 @ ?? and an Anne ??

Any info to help fill the gaps would be gratefully received

There is a Lucinda Scoggins in my family tree, not sure if she is the same one. She was born in or around 1847, probably born in South Carolina. Not sure who she married. If this sounds familiar let me know.
