Hi, I have seen the messages for Seal family from Winchester. Can anyone tell me how Christopher Seal gets his middle name of McKim or who he gets it from please. June 1865 (1900 US Census) and married to "George Washington Seal". Louise is listed as being from Germany. I al also looking for the maiden name of George G. Seal's wife, Mary I, who was born about 1912, in Virginia (1930 US census).

Its Linda, I believe you will be my second cousin, Ive only just got back from a holiday and am so pleased that your enquiries are relevant to me and hope to share lots of memories. Your great grandma Alice was very well thought of in the Wallgate area, she was a very thoughtful person, during the potato famine in Ireland a lot of the Irish settled in Wallgate and your grt grt grandma who earlier had a shop on the other side of the road, was a bakehouse and provisons I believe and most of the family worked together, they made soup and gave it to these folks because they had no money. Her funeral was a large affair with extra cars to carry all the flowers, she was lovely Regards Linda

I am trying to trace the Seal family from Wigan....married into Aspey and Meadows families......any help would be great.

My great grandfather was James Seal and he married Alice Aspey. They met in the Salvation army as young cadets. Their daughter Alice Seal is my grandmother. She married Richard Walter Meadows. They had a shop in Wallgate next to Alice's mother's shop. When Alice Seal (Aspey) died her funeral was really big and people lined the streets to see it. I think she died in the 1950's.

It sounds like you're talking about my father. He was born in May 1945, had a sister named Doreen, and was adopted by the Lanes. My mother said he also had a brother named Neal/Neil.

After all these years, I have finally gotten on ancestry.com, so I hope I am not too late in getting information back to you. You mentioned the name Herman Seal as being your grandfather's brother. Herman was my grandfather. He was married to Lelia Eschelman, and they had one child Marvin who was my father. Actually, I was raised by my grandparents and went to school in Luray and used to visit Uncle Hubert's house.

I have seen the tombstone of our great-grandparents Laura and William Seal.

I would like to hear more from you.

Marshall Seal 1850-1918

Marshall was born in Hancock Co., MS and died in Alabama. His brother was Florian and their dad was Roderick. Florian was apparently well-known on the MS Gulf Coast as a tax assessor, sheriff, composer and poet. Roderick was a state senator. At some point, Marshall was justice of the peace although his occupation is carpenter on a census. Marshall was married at least twice, the first time to Annie Josephine Ates. I believe their kids to be John, Lillie, Roderick Joseph, and Daniel. Anyone know anything of this line of Seal?

Hi, I am a relative of Seal's from that area. My grandfather was William F. Seal, a brother was Frederick Seal. I am Melody's Mom, Peggy, and you can reach me through her. I did not grow up with Will Seal, but with his x wife. They divorced, and contact was lost after that with Will. I think he did live in Md and possibly DE. for awhile but he is buried in Luray area.

Jacobine Kirstine, known as Ena married the John of this Seal family. Her sister Hanna Sørine lived with them in 1860 in Le Seuer, MN. I'm trying to find out what happened to Hanna.

Hawkins for sure. Rhoda is the daughter of Reuben Cope m. Jane Brock of Hawkins Co, TN.

Rhoda's daughter Clementine Seal m. Jackson(Jock) McGonigal after they moved the family to Dent Co. Missouri after the civil war.

Jock & Clementine had one daughter, Charlotte Mae McGonigal. Family isn't sure what happened to Jock but he disappeared shortly after Lottie was born. Clementine later married Robert Nance and had a pack of children.

Lottie Mae was my great grandmother.

I live in Tennessee and we are currently trying to do our Family tree. I am looking for the Natural Mother of Cecil T. Seal(s) born 8 Jan 1913, in Oklahoma. I believe he was born in Bryant or Durango County. I only know that her first name was Belle. His father was James T. Seals born in Texas 1888. I found a 1910 Census showing that James (listed as Thomas J) was married to Belle. It shows that they had been married 0 years, and was a first marriage for both. I am trying to find out her maiden name and possibly a family name. (There might also be a chance that she was of Indian decent). The Census I found her on was from Atoka County, Bently Township. I wrote to Atoka and requested a copy of their Marriage Certificate but they wrote me back today that they weren't able to find one. I guess the next thing to do is start with the surrounding counties. I believe that Belle passed away at Cecils birth or maybe she died with the next pregnancy, or an illness. Any way she disappears after that Cencus. I know from a 1930 census that James remarried to a Millie but at the time of his (Cecils) birth she (Millie) was 9 years old. Finding out any information from Oklahoma is like pulling teeth. I cannot find a last name of who James married first or a birth record for Cecil, (My Grandfather) He passed away before I was born, In New Mexico,(another hard place to search) and His wife, My Grandmother, Zola Mae Ingle died around the time I was 10. Please, if you can give me any leads I would be grateful! I have had a few hints toward Yaylor or Meeks . . . but so far neither one has panned out.

Thanks for the info! Can I ask for the links to the information you got . . I have been searching until I am blue in the face to find any info on the marriage and death of Belle Seal. I believe that She married my ggrandfather James Thomas in 1909 had Cecil and died soon after, James Thomas then married Millie. The problem is that I need as much hard evidence as I can get. I need to be sure that I am following the right one(Belle)before I add her to the tree.
I agree with you about the information on ppls trees, because we mistakenly added a family tree link to ours and found a lot of wrong info attached . . . I am now in the process of fixing that problem, but I don't want to get my hands off into it and start changing things until I am as sure as possible.
I am amazed that you were able to find the wedding dates for James Thomas and Belle and also the wedding date for Cecil and Zola Mae. I have looked every where that I can thnk of. Any Way, any tips you can give me will certainly be appreciated!

MEMBER DIES
PLEASANTVILLE- The oldest
living member of Bethany Methodist
Church died yesterday at the
home of her daughter after a sixmonths
illness.
Mrs. Lillie Poley, 84, who died at
the home of Mrs. George Carmen,
of 1138 Black Horse Pike, was a
resident here 58 years, and a charter
member of the Methodist
church. She was also a member of
GAR No. 57.
She is survived by Mrs.Carmen,
another daughter, Mrs. Job Price,
of the city; three sons, William, of
Cardiff; Clarence and John, both of
this city; 21 grandchildren, 24 great
grandchildren, and two great- great
grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held
Tuesday afternoon with the Rev.
Ralph Degroodt, pastor of Bethany
Methodist Church, officiating,
Burial will follow in Pleasantville
Cemetery.

Your Grandfather William and my Grandmother Elsie were brother and sister. I would love to see any pictures you have. I have no photos other than my Grandparents. I went to Christopher and Sarah's graves and there is no marker for them. I know Owen is buried there, but I don't know who is in the other three graves. I remember Aunt Mellie (Jennie) and Aunt Mary with much affection.

My father was William A. Seal Jr. His father, William A. Seal is one of several children between Christopher & Sarah. Another son between Christopher and Sarah was Thomas Rhea Seal. Thomas Rhea has a living son in Md. I do have a picture of Christopher.
