Phillip was my 4th great grandfather, how ever I can not prove where he was born, or date. Or that his father was John Casper Seibert. The John Jacob Seibert born 1716 in Germany died April 28 1758 & Maria Elizabeth Theiss, All their children are listed in the Tulpehocken church. Casper is not listed. I have the Raymond Martin Bell book of the Seiberts of Saarland, Pennsylvania And West Virgiia. Their is no Casper listed, and one Phillip that doesn't match our Phillip.I also hired a Genealogica Researcher in Berk's county and he could not make a conection from John Jacob to Casper or to Phillip.

There is a dna group (of 1 dna test). It is from a desc of Phillip of Frost Bottom who was a contemporary of William Severs 1752 and it did not match with several desc of WIlliam Severs. A dna of all othe Seiber relatives should match. Go to www.familytreedna.com and look for the Sevier group or contact me at S9359338atAOL.COM. Join the group and get 10%. They have specials occasionally
William 1752 may have been a Hessian Deserter named Johannes Wilhelm Siebert born 1751 found in HETRINA

The Phillip Seiber of Frost Bottom is my 4th great grandfather. I don't know if the Phillip Seiber married to Catharine, with a son Samuel born Feb 17 1794 listed in the Berk's county church records has any connection to the Phillip Seiber of East Tenn. I just stated what I found in the Burks county church records

Just to be clear, are you all talking about the Philip Seiber who ended up in Frost Bottom, Anderson Co., Tennessee? This Philip is my 5th g-grandfather. If there is a DNA group for this line, I'm sure my father would participate.

Please let me know, I've struggled with this family for years.

Dwayne: would you care to share the Info you have, that connects Casper to phillip. I have the berks county church records of the 18th century, volume 4, It lists Casper Seiber Born Sept 6-1754 Parents Jacob Seiber and Ana Elisabetha Schmidin. I have not hear of this name before. It also lists Samuel of Phillip Seibert and Catharine Born Feb 17 1794. I have Samuel as born in 1790 in maryland and mother as Maria Himmelberger. ?????

Source:
1924 Annual Report of the Mineral Resources of Tennessee, page 24

nonfatal coal mine accident, White County, Sam Johnson, 1924NOV26, occupation miner, cause of injury slate fall

These Tennessee reports are usually found under Library Call Number TN24.T2 A55. In the state of Tennessee, the best source for these reports are the Tennessee State Library and Archives (Microfilm S78 rolls 1&2, Reels 2941 and 2943 or Ac.#578-1&2) in Nashville, the University of Memphis library in Memphis and the University of Tennessee library (Call Number TN24.T2 A2) in Knoxville. These reports may also cover strikes, details of mining operations at specific mines, location of the mines, pictures, production and operation details for specific mines.

Slate is dark shale lying next to the coal beds. It contains impressions of the plant life of distant ages, proving the vegetable origin of coal

This is all the information that I have on this accident.

from Jerry

My grandfather was Walter Seiber, and yes he did have one of his hands missing. He lost it working in a mill. He was married to Aisha Phillips Seiber, they had 9 children:Jimmy Lee, Freddy Joe(my Father), Wanda Seiber Fritts, Rev. Steve Seiber,Dale, Mitchell, Walter Jay, Benny and Kathy. I know of two brothers: John and Andy. John lived in frost bottom and Andy lived in Windrock. He had a sister name Hannah. I know he had other sisters but don't know what their names were. If you haven't found the information I will get it from my dad and send it to you. I have just started researching my family tree and saw your message. Walter passed away at a church in Rockwood. The following children are deceased: Jimmy Lee, Kathy and Mitchell. Walter's father was Levi Seiber not sure what hes mothers name was.

I've learned quite a bit since that post 10 years ago! The story I told about the feud was one generation off. It was Daniel's father, George who was misunderstood by the officials. My Daniel was born in 1859 in Anderson County, TN. He moved with his father's family to Kentucky sometime between 1860 & 1880. Later he went to southern Illinois and died in Marissa, IL.

Is Samuel Polk Seiber the same Samuel Seiber who was born in 1844 in TN to Thomas and Polly (Chiles) Seiber?

Or perhaps the Samuel, Jr born in 1827 to Samuel Wesley and Isabella (Frost) Seiber?

Or a different one entirely...?

Henry Seiber

I was told that my grandfathers name was Henry Seiber. Henry was married to Isabelle Boiles. They had my father, Kenthie (or Kenneth) in Harriman TN in 1900. Henry must have lived between 1850 to 1940. I was the youngest of Kenthie's 6 children, (born in 1953) and I never met my grandfather, but my older brothers and sisters do not remember meeting him either.
I would just like to go the next step and know who Henry's parents were. If any one can help, I would be most grateful. Thank you

If this John Seiber lived in Illinois, it is possible he is the son of Rev. Thomas Seiber who fled Tennessee following the civil war. www.roantn.com/seiber.htm

Of course this would depend on the time period involved.

My question: Did John have a son named Richard, who lived in Illinois, Richard is my ancester.

In the spirit of the season......I found a copy of Little Women by Saalfield Publishing (Akron, Ohio area firm)printed 1926, that has an inscription that reads:

Christmas, 1926
Dear Ruth Elaine, This Christmas Brings you my love, and a wonderful story about four little girls. Your mother will help you read it and each of you will find it most helpful,
Lovingly
Your grandfather
Geo. (or Gro.) W. Sieber (possibly Tieber)

If this is your family or you research many lines you may have it, at no cost,a nice thing to give to a Sieber. It was in a thrift store in Akron......hope that helps you determine. Akron also has a Sieber Road, used to be Sprinfield Township in the 1040's. E-mail me at Bevda@aol.com
